Enjoyed the video when first posted and watched again bc decided to sew the pattern. Glad I did you have several instructions for sewing that wasn’t included in the pattern.
Being from Colorado how can I not love The Denver Backpack. The kit is awesome especially the mountain fabric. The special tag from Jayde is perfect. Love being part of the BMBC. Great tutorial Jess. Your tips and tricks help make me a better bag maker. 💜
I absolutely love your videos! You make it seem so easy!!!!! I wanted to try this bag for ages but was terrified because everyone said it was so challenging. You gave me the courage to give it a go. What I really appreciate is your sense of humour and how you make fun of yourself. I LOVE your finished bag❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Ahhh! Omg I remember asking you to make this when you first started your channel!! I was knee deep in making the mini and absolutely in the THICK of it at the time 😂 you absolutely have to make the large size it’s amazing and I found it was easier! I added a slip pocket to the back panel and a zipper pocket to in the inside. So cute!!
Just finished making this today - it was a little bit of a struggle on the curves but nothing that could not be conquered! It's super cute! LOVED the bag tag that came with the Bee Maker kit!
Finishing this bag up atm. If i make this bag again, I think I'll install a 2nd zipper pull on the main zip tab in the same direction as the zipper I want to keep, then just pull it off to close the zipper at the end. There are so many fiddly parts to this bag. This seems like a simple solution to some of the challenges with the zipper.
Hi, great tutorial. If you have machine where you can adjust the PRESSURE of your foot NOT the thread tension lessen the pressure it will allow you to slide around the curves easier. I have Janome HD 9 which allows you to reduce the foot pressure. Cheers Bronne
Jess, do you have a video on which needles to use for domestic machines and what fabrics to use with what needle? Like you did with your interfacing video? I see people suggesting to use Microtex with vinyl and WRC and some suggest Topstitch needles. And some even said to change to the Denim needle when it's bulky. Or do you use Microtex for nearly everything? The thread I normally use is Tex 45 Bonded polyester or Tex 66 Bonded nylon (and the needle size suggested is 16-18).
I made the Brooklyn for my travel bag and the same connectors along the zipper almost killed me; so uneven! I botched it bad. I made another round for my folks and incorporated it he connector in with the seam/zipper and it looked so much better
Love it! Only one concern is that when you have it in your back the zipper is easily accessed. Perhaps there is a way to put a hook on the zipper to hook to the d-ring? Or something along that idea? Perhaps a hoof from the d-ring to the zipper?
I am in the Bag Making Bee Club but a newbie to bag sewing. I just started cutting the pieces without looking at the postcard and used the print for the outside! Can I still make it that way? Also, I didn't have enuf foam to cut the bottom and back pieces!
Personally I believe you can use the mountains for the outside. As hard as I tried I could not get both pieces out of the foam either. Luckily I have some on hand I can get the other piece out of. It does not need to be the same as what came in the kit. I hope this helps.
You’ll have to cut the 2 pieces of foam minus 1/2” all the way around. It’s the only way to get them on there. I’m disappointed there weren’t enough materials.
Wish you would give the final size of the zippers after zipper tabs. Cut my zippers per directions and too short so have three zippers that I can’t use here and have to dig into my stash. Very disappointing. Another video says cut 10 inch zippers. Not pleased at this point.

The yellow and brown make a very nice bag. Total airplane purse...

:O from colorado too (Denver specifically too), maybe I should make this, it is a nice backpack!
Beautiful thanks ❤
Love the lining fabric

The soap included in the kit smells so good! thanks!
I have made this backpack and it is a favorite. It turned out to be a wonderful gift for a young teen.
Eeeks! I could not wait to get off work today to sit down and watch this video!

I made this bag a couple of years ago! Is it a bit of a challenge? Yes! But it was a fun sew and fun to use!

I’ve got the large pattern, never made it…I thought it looked hard. Your tutorials are so great.
Thank you, it’s cute!
Excited to make this bag!
Lovely ❤❤❤❤
Very cute
So happy you did this one. I love this pattern and have had it for a while but wasn't sure about doing it without you!
Omg I love it
This was one of the first bags I've ever made! I love this!!! ❤❤
Yeaa! I love me some Swoon! 🥰🥰🥰
Great tutorial🎉❤

Oh, thank you for doing this. I have had this pattern for years and haven't done one yet. But going to now. ❤

A hook* not hoof!🤪
Cute bag cute nice colours but I think the big size it’s looks much better for an adult person 👌
Love your videos! I always look for yours first. Would you do Hinterland by Lavender and Twine one pretty please =)
Looooove it. Was waiting for this tutorial
Great job. Thank you so much for sharing
There is a FREE PATTERN for this here on UA-cam. I just got done making it and it's not that hard. The pattern does not come with the pockets though.
I'm so happy! This is on my bucket list but I've been terrified of making this!
I have a big version of this and I want to make some but very intimidating
So cute where can we find those cute printed wpc you use? Lol
Can you please tell me more about the bee club please.
Okay, where in the heck did you get that amazing WRC? Ohhh I am in love!!! Shoot…
Could you share resources for Printed "Water Resisant" Canvas - I believe it is 400 denier - Thanks you Love your Videos
I would like to see you make The Ultimate Travel Bag 2.0 by Annie
Do we have enough fabric in the BMBC kit to make the larger size?
I MADE THIS ABOUT 4 YEARS AGO. IT WAS A LITTLE CHALLENGING BUT I GOT THROUGH IT.
❤❤❤
Can I make the regular size one but follow this video to make it?
Do you think the bottom could be done with binding? Instead of sewing the lining and exterior separately and birthing?
Yeeeesssssssss!!!
What is this like with directional fabrics? ❤ thank you!
Where can I buy a download of This Pattern?
Just wondering what sewing machine Jess uses. Anyone know?
Can we make the larger bag from this month’s kit or is there only enough for the mini one?
Also wondering, Laura.
No. There’s BARELY enough to make the mini from the kit.
@@Six-Stitches Thank you
@@Six-Stitches thank you for answering as I was wondering as well!
Can I purchase this kit without joining the club? I can't afford the club every month but would love to make this bag.

Any extra kits ?
Do you find your double sided tape isn’t sticky? The last few I have bought are not sticky on one of the sides.
Try Sailrite double sided tape - it's super sticky
Ooooo I want to make that. Where can I find the pattern?
On the Swoon website I presume….
Reiterate what Jess said--don't lose your zipper! Ask me how I know...
Love your videos, but the jewelry is very distracting. Your nails look great.
Where can I buy This patter as a download?
