Me - I'd NEVER march placidly to the gallows - I'd run and kick and scream and bite - they'd have to shoot and bayonet me. Quicker - faster - less dread and more adrenaline. Seems a FAR better path...
Do not be disapointed, but, when your hands are fastened or tied up behind your back, any kind of your pre-scaffold "insanity" won't imply needs shoot or bayonet you, just reason to forcely quick your marching to under-noose.
'February 15, 1839' (French: 15 février 1839) is a 2001 Quebec historical drama film. Directed by Pierre Falardeau, it is about the incarceration at the Pied-du-Courant Prison and the execution by hanging there of Patriote participants of the Lower Canada Rebellion. Those rebels sought to make Lower Canada, now Quebec, a republic independent from the British Empire. It features as characters the historical figures François-Marie-Thomas Chevalier de Lorimier, his wife Henriette and Charles Hindelang. ~ Be Safe out there folks ~ Peace & Health to Us All.
In reality, the Patriots were not asking for the independence of Lower Canada (this idea came a long time later) but more democracy and responsible government.
I watched this and suddenly recognized the voice samples used by Quebecois Black Metal project Neige Et Noirceur. Check their "Croix de feu croix de fer" song from "La Seigneurie Des Loups" (2010) album.
It is good to see that the United States wasn't the only country to experience violent warfare, civil war, and controversial hangings. I thought that other than the Riel uprisings and hangings in the later 19th century, Canada was a mostly peaceful place. I think Canadians are decent, civilized people. However, the roughly 300 people and soldiers killed in this 1839 episode in Quebec show that even excellent countries go through violent periods at times. It is interesting to see that Canada has had its times of trouble too. My home state of Minnesota had the largest mass hanging in Mankato in December 1862, with 38 Sioux warriors hanged by the U.S. Army after the 1862 Minnesota River War, where nearly 1,000 people, mostly white settlers, died in a war of massacres before the Army from Fort Snelling suppressed the uprising. All the Sioux Indians were imprisoned on Pike Island in a military prison on the Minnesota River and Mississippi rivers. Hundreds of Sioux women, children and elderly died of diseases. The surviving Sioux were loaded up on steam riverboats sent to South Dakota via the Missouri River with few clothes, belongings or food where most perished. Historians think out of about 2,000 Sioux Indians in Minnesota in early 1862 by the summer of 1863 only a few hundred were still alive. Many of the survivors went to Canada.
how evil is it i dont mid that the main conspiritor in his nice ass boots got rope set wrong and danced day away unlike his comrades. i didnt mind seeing the supervillian squirm 4:18 boot scoot line dance gets good and lol that he wore such nice look to go... just my thoughts but dang his boots are nice
That's Narbonne for you, though SOB until the end. The thing the movie didn't show, is that an Anglo-saxonne crowd was cheering when he got beat down to stop resisting his death. The beating and his agony length for 15 minutes before he ultimately die off.
@@milonga_ If a person has urine in the bladder when hanged, that person will urinate himself/herself due to loss of muscle control. The same goes if a person has faecal in the rectum.
Not certain why I passed-up several perfectly good (I’m sure) hanging clips and stopped at this one. Be that as it may, Bravo to the content-creator. More of the same please. Cheers.
The Victorian English got the long drop hanging down to almost an exact science. No mucking around
Quite unique opening traps from under

You’d just make the job more fun for the hangman
fight to the end
They’d drag you making the ordeal even longer
If it is done right, it's over in less than a second....neck snaps.....but....strangling....the worst
But you have to get the weight, drop height etc. exactly right.

The coffins as he's led up...powerful visual
Like Breaker Morant....sitting right next to their chairs
What walks to their death like going to a tea party
