- Hi everyone, my name is Heather. I am self taught, I am not a professional. I have been cutting my own hair since 2013. Takes a lot of practice, trial and error. (Please read more below)
In this video, I am cutting my hair from a full mid neck bob length to an undercut with a fade. I have had very short hair since 2012, I haven't cut my hair in 6 months prior to this video. I wanted to grow my hair out for a little bit for something different but I always love my hair underneath cut short, it's so much easier to deal with. So I went back for the undercut. Ahh that's why I thought she had skills no wonder she could do such a style solo even using the lines vary smart some would mess up and end up just shaving it all which still would have looked amazing I thinking full shave no grade is the easiest but that's going off point a bit lesser skill needed for shaven I meant but that style

This is why I started cutting my own hair in a 3 way mirror 7 years ago. I've done a mohawk, viking braids, short haired fringe and now I'm doing this undercut fringe. If I ever have issues I can't figure out I just go to my mother's house and have her touch it up and show me what I missed. Once you learn your hair and your hair like shape it gets super convenient and easy. Every barber I've been to has never cut my hair how I like it! Good luck to you!

My hair is that long right now and bless my friend, she trimmed it and ended up giving me a mullet in one side. But she has a lot on her mind. Now I'm deciding to go for broke, so I carry on and try to save what's left or go for full on pixie? Last time ppl around me were giving negative criticism. But now seeing this more and more. To me it empowers you as it's not expected of us women and I'm like f**k what others think. Women are too defined by their hair and how they should,look. I need to do What makes me happy. It looks great. I had that haircut from 1992 to 2000. As a young man that used to skateboard and often having greasy hair, this was the style. All of my buddies had this hairdo.
Cool to see females with it now. There were a tiny handful of females back in ths day that had this hairdo but they were not praised for it back then.
I asked 4 different hairdressers back then and all of them refused to do it because I am a woman. Thank flip now we have youtube and we don't need to pay chauvinists to cut our hair and beg them to do what we want instead of what they want
I think this is totally amazing there is no way I would ever attempt doing this myself, I have no doubt I would end up having to shave my whole head from messing it up. Also, I think this haircut is so attractive on a woman. Also, I'm sure all the long hair you feel so much cooler in the summer time.

Je trouve étrange que cette femme se coupe les cheveux non mouiller ! Chez le coiffeur ils le sont ! Je la préférais avec ses cheveux plus longs comme au début de cette vidéo . I've been doing my own cuts and weaves and dye for over 10 years. I've watched so many tutorials and looked at so many pics. Your skills made my heart skip a beat. Fkn esoteric, girl.
Used to do this cut in the late 80s only I used a 2 guard all over- no fade. Also would dye it blue black or give it a plum semi- permanent. My hair is naturally very dark brown & I have the big blue eyes too. This takes me back lol love it!

Thank you for the guide on the hairstyle. I started self cut since quarantine and I just randomly shave myself and it led me to discover this hairstyle. I quite like it and started googling until I find the name of the cut and then your video to refine my cut. Love your occasional smiles too 😁
I had long hair further than my but, new years day I watched this and the faux hawk video she made, and went to the hair dresser with the faux hawk video clip. and said I want this cut it all off. The hairdresser actually did not want to cut it, so I had to ask my husband to take the sissors from the hairdresser and cut it, which he did 😂 and then the hairdresser took over, and gave me the faux hawk style, and i love it. right then and there I lost 10kg it made my face more slim and it suits me perfectly. I have had a ton of compliments ❤ Now I am rocking my faux hawk hair 🥰🥰 Thank you for being a muse ❤❤❤

I actually cut my hair this style because you inspired me. Well, I didn't myself, I had my friend do it. I was a little freaked out that it wouldn't turn out as good as yours cause you are drop dead gorgeous, but I think it's one of the best styles on myself. I know the growing out phase won't be much to desire for, but there ain't no turning back now.

Dear Heather, thank you for this video. During the pandemic outbreak there has been no option to visit a stylist, and I became completely frustrated about my hair. So I watched your video, repeated - and it worked!!!

I didn't think you were ever going to get back to cutting your hair! So glad you are back. I also cut my own and also have the Hair Cutting System mirrors. I just gave my self my summer hair cut a few days ago. It is faded in the back and on the sides as yours is. However the top is cut with a special clippers guard that cuts 1.25 " and blending down to the 1" guard. I sweat a lot so that is my cut every May. The rest of the year I keep the back and sides cut and let the top grow to style and shape while the weather is cooler/cold. Love to watch your techniques and varying styles! Hugs! XOXOX

I have been cutting my hair myself with an electric clipper for many years, but I do not do gradation, I cut everything to "0". (Except the lower part of the neck with which I use a manual razor. Logically I also need mirrors.)
But what she does is just great and she shows a lot of skill.

All the right equipment .. clippers .. scissors.. comb..straight razor comb.. and a quad mirror .. who said you have to go pay a hair dresser to do such a excellent fade .. when all you need is the right equipment... save a dollar wontcha? Looks good girl ! Great job showing how easy it is. And believe.. some people go pay for that .. 50.00 + .. and you can do it in your own dressing room ... common sence shows strong here .. again GREAT JOB ..simple as that.

Has anyone added up the cost of haircuts for 1 year? Initially the mirror was expensive at $70, but a fade + tip in my area is like $40+ so... The point is she did a fire job wit dis cut & at the end of the day hair is just hair. I been playing wit different styles/cuts/colors for years. It brings me joy & I am unbothered with anythones two cents on tha matter. My scalp, mah real estate!

Heather, your videos are amazing. They pushed me the last few steps to not be afraid of going really short. I've worn my hair long past my waist for like ten years, always in the same boring bun or braid cuz everything else was too much work, and this year I decided to go shorter and get an undercut and sidecut. Unfortunately the hairdresser kind of botched it - it wasn't bad but it also wasn't what I'd wanted, I wanted anything but a short bob and guess what I ended up with, and I got a different shape sidecuts than I wanted (I wear strong glasses so I couldn't keep track of what she was doing). I'm gonna try myself and if I screw it up, I'll just bring a picture of your hawk to someone my friends recommend and say "I want this, make it happen." Thank you!

I just did this same cut on myself and bleached my hair then dying it a rose gold colour. All that from dark brown dreads to my butt. My head was just so flaky in our Canadian winter . I couldnt take it anymore. But hey we have the choice of lacefront wigs we can wear while it all grows out.
