I hate when a customer isn't available, you go through the whole process then just before your done then they come out and tell you "my instructions said to leave it at the door", then they give you a bad review.
Exactly! That is 100% my biggest frustration. Or they get annoyed that you hand it to them but that is what instructions told you to do!
@@yourdriverteam-matt1001 exactly. At least once or twice a day.
I do ubereats as well and when you cant get ahold of the customer the cancelation is so much easier doordash needs to do this instead of having us contact support and waiting more time that we are not being paid for.
I saw on reddit. When she get a hand it to me order. She'll text the customer after picking up the food, asking the customer if they were wanting it handed to them to double check. She said it works out for her.
@@SilentWolf1338 I'll have to try that. It just seems like a pain if you have to do that 10 times a day
For hand off deliveries I click the button “can’t hand to customer” to start the timer as I pull up to the drop off location. I believe the app allows you to click the button when you are about 0.3 miles away from arriving. Keeps me from having to wait there longer than needed.
Might as well!! Because you can always go back and complete delivery if they DO show up! I’ll try this next time
I never thought about turning off my wifi!! It really makes a diff. Thanks for the tip Matt!
Thank YOU Jeff! Thanks for watching
I think DoorDash should reduce the wait time from 5 min to like 2-3 min when you can’t reach the customer or give some type of compensation of a $1 or 2 for waiting
Our job is easy enough. Please dont be begging for $2-3 dollars just to wait
Doordash should also have no penalty for the Dasher if a restaurant doesn't have your order ready in 15 minutes.
We were waiting 45 minutes for stacked iHop orders. There should be a time that we can get out of that order without penalty.
Totally agree 5 minutes feels like eternity!
Had that happen one time and wait out in the cold by their door counting down each second on my phone. You would think the people you are dashing for would want their food warm.
@@numetal4304 it could help a lot to have an incentive to wait because a lot of dashers are afraid to wait since time loss is money lost and it results in a lot of people not getting their orders when dashers leave with their food. It could work in the same way that uber charges when riders are late coming out to their car.
The WiFi part that you were explaining got me surprised. I didn’t know about it. Thank you!!! 🙏🏼❤️
Great video my guy. Damn,I can't even tell you how many times I forget to turn my WiFi off.
It strangely matters call me superstitious!
Great video mate! ❤️
Definitely right about the wifi bro... learned that the hard way 👍✌️
It’s strangely true!
Mike, great content. The "turn off wifi" is key. Also, I've gotten in the habit of restarting my phone before I go online with delivery apps.
Thanks for watching Daniel!
Thanks Daniel 👊🏻
The best delivery video channel on UA-cam.
Thank you!!
Thanks for sharing Matt! Doordash is great letting you change tasks at any time. There was one situation where I picked up AND delivered the first order, before I even picked up the 2nd order because it was gonna be a longer wait! Although with Ubereats they don't give you the freedom to change tasks or show BOTH customer address. That's a big downer for Uber! Not sure why, but my Ubereats map does not flourish with colors during busy times anymore??
Thanks you for watching Nate! You don’t see surge anymore on UE? I’d be careful doing that because the 2nd order customer will wonder if you’re still “waiting to pick up” why you’re driving away, maybe text or call and explain it before you do that but I love the strategy!
Thanks for all you do Jeff. One question, If you had to advise one to keep track in a spreadsheet or something, should one be keeping Track of the active times or dash times?
I make BANK using your tips everyday!!!! Thank you so much!
Boommm
Nice job Matt!!!
Thanks for watching Rhonda!
Thank you Rhonda!
I like Matt better. He is shining with that positive energy!!!! 😎
Haha thank you Joe! We both bring different styles!
My worst stacked order on Doordash was last night. I got a 3 stack for the first time all at the same restaurant. The first was ready immediately. The other two at least 10 minutes apart. I found no way to cancel any of them. Needless to say the customer from the first order was livid. Almost an hour before he got his order from the pickup time he saw in the app.
This is where if my food isn't ready for another 15 minutes, I appreciate the restuarants honesty so that I can run and grab my other order and come back
I wish restaurants would be honest.
It's always 5 minutes which translates to 25 minutes.
I've had restraunts tell me it will be done when it's done. So rude.
With "hand to me" orders, I text the customer when I leave the restaurant. 99% ofmthe time they ask me to leave at door.
Such a good tip! Thank you! A good percentage of hand off orders do not show up. I wonder if that's just the easiest default for them? I actually had one that said hand to customer. Then in their special instructions they said that I had to leave it on a table. So I don't think a lot of people know how that works
To me I have been maximizing my time on UberEats by cancelling orders when I arrive at the restaurant and I see (or they tell me) it will be a while before its ready, I just move on. When it is busy time it isn't worth just waiting there, and unlike DD, as far as I know it doesn't affect me negatively in any way..
I didn't know this was possible! DD had me pick up at one rest, then deliver, then come back to a rest 2 doors down from the first for my second pickup!! All I could think was WHYYYY???! Won't do that again 🙂
Sometimes you have to refresh the app a few times after your first pickup to reset it's positioning. Once I did what you said and just when I arrived at the customer the app resetted and wouldn't let me complete the delivery.
I discovered it too! I was like “wait, can’t I just skip to the next one right next door somehow? And boom! You can!
Try jumping tasks if able.
@@RedArrow73 yes on DD you can jump tasks
We are still in a pandemic I don't do hand to customer unless they come out. Majority of them come out with no mask so I text and take picture and leave at door. If they come out I put on ground a few feet from them if they come out without a mask. Our safety and health is just as important as theirs!
Plandemic, I don't wear a mask and don't expect customers to either. If it was about health, they would push healthy eating and exercise, wake up.
No we're not. Just MSM Gaslighting.
Lol I kept staring so hard at the video thumbnail thinking “this straight up doesn’t look like Mike 😆”.
Thank you all for the love! Stay tuned BIG news coming soon!
Looking forward to it Matt
@@RetireEatsDelivers I’ll leak the info - coming Thursday!
Nothings more frustrating than when you can’t get a hold of the customer. It’s like if I’m expecting a delivery form somewhere I always have my phone near by just in case. One time I could clearly find a lady’s apartment. It was a house converted to apartment and the numbers were not clearly labeled. It was dark out, raining, and none of the apartments looked like any one was home. Saw her mailbox that had the correct number I said yea I’ll just shove it in there. Called 19x to try and get a hold of her. She called like 15 minutes after I left, and I said yea I tried getting a hold of you like 19 times. Your orders in the mail box best I could do 😂
Almost every time I get a double stacked order. 1. I picked up the order of food from the first restaurant already. 2. Then go to the next restaurant and their door's is closed during the weekend and is busy, you have to go through the drive thru which takes 20 minutes.
Sounds like a Wendy’s I know of in Pittsburgh haha that stinks!
@@yourdriverteam-matt1001 it is them. Most of the time I go there if I take a break from delivering to eat or go inside when the doors are open but forget about the delivery.
@@orlinchirinos1981 I’ll just say they are not my favorite place haha I rarely accept their orders
Mike, here in California the rules are different. I make what you show often and do not do all the figuring. I don't have too. We are paid $2 and hour above minimum wage just for waiting plus the fee plus the tip. If everything goes smooth the hourly rate part does not kick in just the fee and tip. Every other Friday I get paid my prop 21 adjustment. You never know what it will be. It has been as little as $70 and up to $240. I have a job so with Uber Eats I just have a set goal of $500 a week. I have a route that takes me through all the areas that I have good experiences with. If no hits I just go home and do shopping and errands. Why waste my day?
Only once I had a customer get mad at me for them not being the only order I had. The other order was on the way to their house and 2 min from the pickup. I always text my deliveries so they know whats going on with their food. This was a rude customer though who doesn't understand how doordash works. He called me 7 times and by the time I got the other order's house and completed that, their order was gone from my screen and I still had their food and some random "unknown" number kept calling me. So I called door dash support and told them what happened. They said I can still deliver to them if I wanted but I said NOPE, I'm returning the order to the restaurant. I reported them for being rude, harassing me with phone calls and I absolutely will never give my time to someone who speaks down to me because I am working to deliver them food. Doesn't mean I'm less than them at all. The customer isn't always right; I've done 12 years in customer service before this so I've seen their type before.
Note to new drivers or people new to customer service: YOU DONT NEED TO SERVE THEM IF THEY MAKE YOU UNCOMFORTABLE. Just take the hit of one less order and return it to the restaurant. Its not worth it to put yourself in this position. You are your own boss as an independent driver so you choose who you serve or not. Thats the best part. But do a good job when you are doing your job for the customers who don't give you such experiences. This was my first order like that and I've done this for months now
When is do we see a channel for “Your Driver Matt?”
Stayed tuned 🔥
🤔
I was supposed to hand the food to a customer but once I arrived to the door a bunch of dogs started bark angrily so I just left the food there. I was afraid of getting attacked by the dogs. Also my area doesn’t tip well🥲
You might call and ask them to come outside. Doing what you're doing might cost in ratings.
The app glitsch I see on my iPhone 7 Is all 3 (Stride, DD, Waze) crashing and re-loading themselves repeatedly.
Requires hard re-boot to fix.
Do you do a NET Complete earnings breakdown on your channel ?
I didn't see the insulated bags in any of your Amazon links; but you can buy an additional one on DD website for $8
They are on Mikes Amazon storefront under Delivery Accessories
If UE has black screen just refresh app then you will see the paid out and location drop off
Agreed!
May you can make a video about Beans Maps app, if that app works well. Thanks.
I’ve mentioned it before, super helpful when I was in San Diego (huge complexes). I’ll make a note for a possible video 👊🏼
Whats good Matt
Wud upppp
a lot of times I'll notice on the app it says hand to customer... but in the comments section it says leave at door. I don't know who did that...what end it's on...but luckily I AM able to send a text with the picture, Seriously only noticed the timer situation when I delivered to someone a 7-11 order that i had to card him for... and his ID was expired. Military vet and considering I work in a gas station, had he come in there, I wouldn't have carded him, but I'm not taking chances with doordash. When I had to return that order to 7-11 (got completely reimbursed for miles. ACtually a not bad payout), that was when I noticed the timer. Must have done something right becasue I didn't get peanlized for it (and the 7-11 cashier was not surprised in the slightest that I came back because of this customer . Hell. the customer was surprised i showed up at all. WHY WOULD YOU ORDER THEN???)
Hi Matt❤️
Hey Rhonda!
Doordash is glitchy and about 1/4 mile off
Do you drive with your wifi off? I find when I have other GPS open it’s more glitchy. Turn off Waze etc
I'll bet having wrapped after dinner mints, ketchup packets, and perhaps wrapped plastic utensils to offer customers might increase the tip money. Even if they decline the offer, they'll see you went above and beyond and perhaps appreciate the effort.
Man , in my area impossible do 14 orders in 4 hrs,
Why won’t my Uber eats notifications show or sound on my phone? I get very few UE requests and they normally come when I’m in the middle of a DD delivery.
I make about $20-30 an hour on doordash in Charleston SC. But my concern is that people haven’t tipped me, I completed 17 orders in one day, and I only received a tip from 10 of those people, can I expect them to maybe put in the tip later into the week once they use the app again? Or am I screwed on those tips haha. One more question, what is your limit for accepting orders, when are the miles to high, and the price to low?
No. Tips are only able to be put in when they order the food on door dash. As a rule of thumb if you want to make sure customers tip on door dash on your deliveries, decline orders under $6.00. If there is peak pay going on, add the peak pay to $6.00 Sometimes base pay might be $6.00 or higher, but that is usually only because the offer has been declined by other drivers so many times, and the pay went up to get someone to take it. Say no to all $3.00 to $4.00 offers. No money on those ones.
The trick is to not take these orders for less than $20. It surged so much for Uber this weekend, all 22 trips I took I got paid over $35, for EVERY SINGLE trip. I declined EVERYTHING that quoted me less than $30. Some of my trips were over $45-$55 each trip, even WITHOUT tips. Work smart. Know the market in your city. I averaged $55/hr over 2 days. Again, work smart.
So what you’re saying is Uber eats pays more than door dash??
How tf do u get such good orders. My order are like $5 for 10 miles
Use as many apps as you can!
Depend the city too , area , etc.
I do doordash and I absolutely hate it when they don't put down how many miles its going to be. my acceptance of deliveries are down to the 30's but every order or rather except in extremely rare cases are delivered on time. will I get deactivated if my acceptance level goes down any further? some orders I just pretend I didn't see so I don't have to officially decline lol
Acceptance rate won’t do anything to your account. It’s on your discretion to decline orders
To save time, I click decline once I know I do not want to accept it because it will count against the acceptance rate whether you press it or not anyway and will not affect your ability to dash. Only the completion rate and customer ratings count.
@@aspirehigher6368 exactly
Hey sir, i am new to to uber eats driving app and i do uber eats on a electric bicycle. I am not sure how the taxes are going to be for me since i am doing uber eats on bicycle. What are the writeoffs for bicycle delivery people. Plz need help. Would be much helpful if you do a video on it 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
I would contact Stephanie look on Mikes channel for his CPA video!
How is it possible to use both apps at same time?
You can have them both open they both will give you notifications when you get requests. Once you find a request you like go offline the other app. This way you are always taking high dollars orders
I always remove stacked orders that do not make sense
I’m not sure if that hurts completion rates on DD I think it does, because you are accepting it then removing it. I’ll check with Mike
@@yourdriverteam-matt1001 yes it does affect completion percentage
@@scotthumphreys1817 thank you!
@@yourdriverteam-matt1001 , it probably does impact completion rates , not an issue for me given it has been rare I needed to cancel , and we are allowed to cancel a number of them without issue
@@Beachdudeca true we are allowed id avoid it when you can DD doesn’t mess around haha shut you said it was rare
On door dash the gps will hang up and show you a long way away from where you are. That's part of not getting orders
Good point John!
Or glitch out during transit. I had to reroute due to roadwork and navigation told me to drop off in the middle of the freeway three times last week, I gave up and got a contract violation. I wasn’t surprised when DD support was no help at all. But I’m still grateful for the hustle!
I fkn hate when the dd app glitch! I had to 2 take pics about 7 times when I got a leave at door customer. Every time I press ok to upload the pic the app would go out. I was 😩
Close the app and go on it again. It won’t delete your order or anything like that.
How do you do somebody deliveries in such a short time
Did you mean so many deliveries? Stacked orders count as two and I take as many back to back as I can!
Dam thats alot in 4 hrs
Making bank!
I was out delivering a week ago and I got 2 orders at different times to where the resturant did not have the order and I contacted the customer and she said she did not order anything on doordash. So weird. So I had to cancel the delivery which made my ratings go down
I’d call support in that case the good news is one cancellation shouldn’t hurt your rating too much
I feel you bro. Once I accepted an order and when I went to the restaurant, the owner was like we don’t have the ingredients to make that order. I was so upset because it was a good paying order and I wasted my time.
I never do hand offs to customer. I’m not giving my number to clients unless necessarily and I just take photos of the order near their front door. Especially during corona times, why would I ever hand you the order ?
I believe DD disguises your number the customer will NOT be able to call or text you after you deliver the order. Also I keep their order IN the DD bag and have them reach in to grab it as I hold it out to prevent contact
They spoof your number. And the customers.
I never do stacked orders. Don't want to deal with unhappy customers if their food gets cold.
Are most of the customers far away from the restaurants when you have to deliver them?
1. don't eat their food.
How do I know you are not Mike pretending to be Matt?
🤔🤔🤔 maybe we are! Haha I promise you we are two people just twins!
The hand to customer leave at door orders, i used to just take pics and store them. Now i take a pic and text to the customer before clearing it out. The only fraud order i had was one of these. Now the customer will know that i have proof and leas likely to be scummy
Good idea!
So you take two pictures? One in the app and one in your library?
@@bigkhris i take a picture to store than when i text the customer i attach it to the message and send. Then i clear out the order. Any time it says hand to customer it doesnt give you an option to take a pic in the app. It just says complete delivery even if the instructions say different so just one pic. Doordash also receives the message i believe so they have the proof and if not i still have the pic
Why would you even have your Wi-Fi on to begin with? smh
I know you are twins, but wow.
Surprising right!
3:12 Hey Mike/Matt, in your videos you should censor the customer's address.
That is a stock photo I believe we never have driven in San Francisco mike was in San Diego not SF but even though it’s a google image we could blur it but not sure if it’s a real address for that person or not. We always do for Pittsburgh addresses etc
Y’all really couldn’t figure this first tip out on your own? Cmon
Matt and Mike is the same person, don't be fooled
🤔🤔🤔
Power of technology 🤫🤫
A good half to 2/3 of 'Hand it to Customer' customers would prefer contact-free delivery. They also believe in the tooth fairy. And also have no idea there's a button in the app for that.
I don’t understand why doordash asking drivers to litter at which points when the customers are not available. What if the customer never pick up the foods where you placed it? I think the goverment needs to hold doordash accountability to the law.
Hey, you are loosing some weight .. Is everything OK with you? 🤷♀️
