We love our wedding binder ! It makes things so much easier.
I am the paper person, so every time any of us has an idea, I write it down. It is so liberating for both of us, as we don't have to think about those tons of ideas anymore and know we we will not forget them. There are right there when we need them.
My fiancé is a computer person, and using this binder enables him to only focus on the calendar, timeline, and budget, while keeping the flow of ideas open.

Jamie, I got married on Saturday 4/8 and your videos were an absolute life saver for me when I was planning. ESPECIALLY the behind the scenes videos because they show how to make things easier for your vendors and what they do and what to expect day of. So glad I found you when I did.

I usually tell people not to sweat that things will go wrong at the wedding because THOSE are the things that become the funny stories you tell about your wedding down the road. Like nobody remembers how perfect the flowers were. They DO remember that the cake was a leaning tower of Pisa....and fell on the flowergirl....who then thought she'd won the lottery and was sucking frosting out of her hair for hours.

Have you ever worked with a bride that has chronic health issues (chronic fatigue etc.)? How does that alter your approach to the process and the day of?

    • @melanies8263

My partner has multiple chronic illnesses and suffers from fatigue as well. We made sure to plan an easily adaptable wedding: if he's very sick or tired that day, we literally just go to the courthouse with the closest family and friends and thats it. If he's still ok after that, we'll have coffee & cake at our home with those same people. If he is still feeling fine, we will be ordering pizza for the ones that want to stay longer, and have enough beer and gin/tonic water in the fridge. Depends on the level of fatigue you're working with, obviously, but for us, being at home where we can kick everyone out at every moment of the day and just let my partner rest in bed is key. If you have any other questions, let me know! ❤

I got married this past year. I’m a brain injury survivor. We made it so that the wedding day worked for my health. If you have questions, I don’t mind answering them.

I’ve been binge listening to the podcast at work, and let’s just say that I feel bad for when my boyfriend proposes because I’m going to have this thing half planned before he pulls the ring out of his pocket. 😂
We will have a discussion about things but we aren’t talking about specifics until I’m done with grad school. We made a deal and he is sticking to it.

My fiancé is now experimenting with these new hairstyles that don’t necessarily compliment his face. We take our engagement photos in a few weeks haha. Oh boy!

I am 45 and would love some tips on planning a second wedding vs. the first

Hi Ramona! I am 53 and planning a second wedding too! I highly recommend watching Jamie's videos. The biggest recommendation I have is to make it your day! This is very trendy right now which is great because if you want something different from a traditional feel it is not as strange as it once was. Best of luck!

I have a question about wedding finances. Do brides typically recoup costs by people giving monetary wedding gifts? Do you typically see a certain % offset, of money they receive as gifts vs money spent on the wedding?

Thank you for your channel! I just got engaged 4 weeks ago and our wedding is scheduled for Sept 30, 2023. Your videos have given us SO much for food for thought!
I have a possibly cringe-worthy question. My fiancé does not have a good relationship with his parents (divorced). It is very complicated, but they are not great people, he is not close to them and they are highly toxic. It is funny because grandparents, Aunts & Uncles are all invited and excited. We feel obligated to invite them but anticipate they won’t bother to show (his father is already making excuses as to why he can’t make it). If they fail to make the RSVP date, would it be acceptable to not bother following up?

If you are doing podcasts, please invest in a quality microphone. The audio quality can really make or break the listening experience. The “p” sound in the mic is something that can be avoided with a muff on the mic. I've tried listening to a few of your episodes, and the audio quality could definitely use an upgrade.

Pop filter for a whole class of consonants. It's been over a decade since I got my linguistics degree and now I forget the name for the type of letter lol. P is one of them.
