Installing new spool bearings in a reel should not have a negative impact on your retrieve. Sounds more like a possible problem with the pinion gear or main gear. I would also check the worm gear and pawl. A thorough clean and lube will take care of most retrieve issues. You can always send it in to me (MHK Angler Reel Service) and I'll take a look.
You bet man. For almost all Daiwa Tatula reels, the spool bearing sizes you will need are 3x8x4 and 3x10x4 mm. Let me know if you I can help you out in any other way!
How's your reel smoothness? Mine is so grinding when reeling.
