Massive Bait Catch with Surprise Cobia & Snook in Tampa Bay

  • I had a great time fishing the flats in Tampa Bay with my buddy Max. To start the day, we caught a massive school of pilchard bait fish in our cast net. There was so much bait in the net, Max and I struggled to pull the net into the boat. We had to let most of the bait go before filling the live well. From there, we managed to catch some speckled trout, a surprise cobia, and snook.

I love saltwater in general, it's cleaner and the fish are much nicer and the variety is amazing. I don't really like freshwater fishing, but i got no choice. one sip of pond water and you're in bed sick for the next 3 weeks from Ecoli or salmonella. and mud, ugh.

Try spec trout fishing in Louisiana. Me and my dad used to go out at 5am and limit out (75) spec trouts by 9am. Back when it was 25 trout per person. Its 15 per person now still plenty. Unfortunately our guides marina was blown down in Katrina we havent been able to contact him since

What does a charter like that cost in that area? Would be kind of nice to see some basic rates shown on the website, but there are none. If some base rates were posted on the website, it seems like that would streamline the actual contacts & bookings that may otherwise be flooded with messages only asking about rates. So please, don't anyone respond by saying: "If ya have to ask, ya shouldn't be inquiring" or "If ya have to ask, ya can't afford it". Not everyone is well off enough that price doesn't matter. If I were a professional guide with my own business, I wouldn't want to be flooded with calls & emails only asking about rates, and then many of those inquiries are never heard from again. So wouldn't posting basic rates streamline everything & make it easier for both the guide and the prospective clients?

Can someone help me out?? I am a crazy crazy addicted bass fisherman. I own a lot of 6”6’ rod to 7 foot rods medium and medium heavy. Could I use those rods and really in the surf or on the jetty’s. I’ve caught sand trout on my bass stuff but I heard the bull reds are getting crazy where I live next to the jetty’s. Would my rods break or should I just go buy a nice fiberglass rod for saltwater? I have 150 yard reels and want to know if that’s good for jetty fishing. I’m not planning on catching giant fish just bull reds , trout, etc.

You should fish with that Captain again Josh. I am a Saltwater fisherman who is stuck fishing for Largemouth Bass lol, but what you guys were doing all day is what I love to do when I’m fishing Saltwater, and to me that was the Best, not too crowded on the boat, just you 2 and good old fun friendly fishing, really good fish too. Next time make that leader a little Heavier, Try Seaguar Flippin Fluorocarbon Leader, they are amazingly strong 💪🏻 and abrasion resistant. Thank you for the awesome video 🙏😁😎👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🍺🍻
