It's unfortunate that there are no reviewers actually testing USB-C file transfers. Is it really such a cumbersome task? Apart from Apple's marketing, the actual file transfer speed varies widely depending on the performance of the internal controller, even with USB 3.2 equipped. For example, my Galaxy S23U supports USB 3.2 1x1 (*5 Gb/s) bandwidth, but when actually transferring videos to a PC, it achieves 184 MB/s (1.4 Gb/s). iPhones come with USB 3.2 2x1, and although Apple's advertising claims support for 10 Gb/s bandwidth, the actual file transfer speed is likely much slower.
most phone manufacturers provide a charging cable that supports usb 2.0 so it is not a new thing or an apple only thing. Also 14 and 15 series have the same chip which i dont think was designed to support usb 3.0 speeds lie the new chips in the pro phones
Apple truly thinks their customer base is beyond stupid at this stage; a cult of worshipers wiling to sacrifice anything for the brand. No other company can get away with selling a $800 phone in 2023 w/ 60hz refresh rate, last year's processor and a decade old charging technology w/ USB 2.0. But a sheep will always be a sheep.
@giokvavadze6871 Thank you. Transfer speed doesn't seem like that big of a problem tbh. 480Mb/s means that it will still take less than 5 minutes to transfer 128Gb. I doubt many would move more than 50Gb at once which will transfer over in no time.
The one with lighting symbol would most likely indicate thunderbolt/usbc pd, so basicly higher data transfer speeds, if not you can safely assume it’s a charging cable
My wife and I both upgraded to the iPhone 15 Pro Max and we're looking to purchase extra cables. Does anyone have any recommendations for 6-10 foot charging cables? I'd avoid any "off branded" cables that are really cheap. I generally use Belkin or Anker cables and they have been making cables for a considerable amount of time. I'd also recommend a braided cable which is much stronger and will last longer.
Question! I installed USB ports in the outlets in my house, and I have a USB port and in my car. Can I have a USBC to USB cable for charging? Why are the ones they supply USBC on both ends? My iPhone 15 has issues connecting via a USB-C to USB-A cable to my car both for charging and carplay. I have two USB-A ports in the car and only one port is stable and functions with the 3 different aftermarket branded cables I tried. None of the cables work in the port I used to use with my iPhone 13 which had a USB-A to Lightning connection. I have tried the Belkin Power Boost cable that Apple offers on its website but, it didn't work either. Lexus is insisting that the problem must be the cable rather than the USB port in the car - something that makes no sense given the testing that was done at the dealership. Have you heard anyone else experiencing power conneciton/stability issues when the iphone 15 is plugged into a USB-A port in a car?

The USB-C port is acting weird. I have the 15 Pro Max and MOST times, when I plug in an NVMe SSD... nothing. It lights up, but doesn't show up in files or the camera for Pro-Res. If I reboot the phone, it will usually show up... once. My wireless mic receiver (lightening, and connecting with an adapter) also doesn't work for some reason. If I use a hub that has power... the drive does show up. Oddly, an old portable HDD works without any issues, even when there's no external power.
The charging port that you are using will determine the speed more so then the cable. The Apple factory one will support fast charge so long as you are using a usb-c charging port or power strip that has atleast 25Watts supply.

Tried it with several different cables and none worked. it does not even recognize that something is connected, and the car does not recognize it either. and the phone I upgraded from iphone XR on IOS 17 can do it without any issues.
If you’re looking at data transfer, the SSD you’re connecting to the phone will have a decent USB-C data cable with it anyway. If it’s an old HDD or slow SSD, it won’t matter as the drive won’t be fast anyway. Just connect a USB-C PD hub with HDMI, USB-C port, PD port, SD Card, and you’ll be laughing. Even the old Anker ones I used with my original MacBook 12” from 2016 (Anker powerexpand+ 7 in 1) were fine and ran at TB3 speed to my sabrent rocket SSD. The only thing that won’t work is anything connected to the Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) to Thunderbolt 2 Adapter Apple sells and shows as compatible with the iPhone 15s. I have a 15 Pro Max and have that adapter plugged in the back of my Mac Studio. I got a “Cannot Use Thunderbolt Accessory. Thunderbolt accessories are not supported on this iPhone” when I tried. So thanks Apple for that…
I tried connecting a dock with HDMI, USB keyboard and mouse, and power over USB C. all of it worked. The only annoying thing is that you can’t really switch apps with keyboard and mouse, you have to use the iPhone screen for that. I really wish that iPhone had a desktop mode like Samsung Dex. At that point for some people, you might be able to replace your laptop or a desktop with just an iPhone
Question: I want to record voice and also use an external SSD for live storage a the same time, will a hub work for that and if so do you have any recommendations?
my iPhone 15 will be here in a week. I now use the usb in my Honda to connect to my iPhone 12. Won't be able to use that for when I am using maps. I have several usb c cookie to usb mouth adapters. I’ve made a combo dock with an expansion port. My use will be for storing my art on my external hdd and for running windows or Linux on my phone using UTM
No, it's a normal USB-C cable. It may be a USB 2.0 cable, but they have data pins... The A16 Bionic does not have a USB3 controller, only USB2. We don't know what they will do next.
Do you know if we can finally transfer videos from a PC to iPhone 15 Pro when connected with USB C? I can’t with the iPhone 13 Pro and I think it’s outrageous. I have to transfer the videos to an SD card first then use a lightning port SD card reader to import videos to the iPhone 13 Pro.
I have an iPhone 12 and can easily transfer files to my PC via a USB-C to Lightning cable. Once you plug in your iPhone it will ask you to "Trust this Computer" and once you do it will show up under File Explorer. From there you can go into the iPhone and manually drag photos and videos onto your computer. You don't need any special software to do this.
The new iPhones talk to the device over usb. To make a decision on what devices needs or has more power to supply power to its. The iPhone supports usb PD and that’s the same protocol most tech uses to determine power draw or power direction of flow
for me i have the iphone 12 pro max pacific blue color. or i can wait for the iphone 16 pro max or the iphone 17 pro max. or i could wait until the iphone 18 pro series. coming in 1 to 3 years and maybe a full screen/ display. and also thin bezels for the iphone series. is it worth it to upgrade to the iphone 15 series with usb-c port. or i can get a gaming phone for a good price.

So thanks Apple for that…
Guys, when you charge usb-c from another phone, will it drain the other phones battery?
I tried connecting a dock with HDMI, USB keyboard and mouse, and power over USB C. all of it worked. The only annoying thing is that you can’t really switch apps with keyboard and mouse, you have to use the iPhone screen for that. I really wish that iPhone had a desktop mode like Samsung Dex. At that point for some people, you might be able to replace your laptop or a desktop with just an iPhone
Question: I want to record voice and also use an external SSD for live storage a the same time, will a hub work for that and if so do you have any recommendations?
so any iPhone 15 can use the usb c to HDMI? i heard that its just the pro models only
which adaptar can i use to charge iphone 15 plus/ any usb C adapter??? thanks
my iPhone 15 will be here in a week. I now use the usb in my Honda to connect to my iPhone 12. Won't be able to use that for when I am using maps. Is it possible to purchase a qi charger that has the old USB and use that in the car? Or is there a better way as I can not change the usb port in the car.
Unless you are using Carplay use an Anker 40w fast car charger with 2 ports that go into your charger port
Can I import from sd to iPhone?
I have several usb c cookie to usb mouth adapters. I’ve made a combo dock with an expansion port. My use will be for storing my art on my external hdd and for running windows or Linux on my phone using UTM
can you use an iphone 12 pro charging adapter with the iphone 15?
How much memory does a console game take up on the iPhone 15
3-10 gb
What can you use a external camera for I tried a few apps couldn’t find any
No, it's a normal USB-C cable. It may be a USB 2.0 cable, but they have data pins...
The A16 Bionic does not have a USB3 controller, only USB2. We don't know what they will do next.
Are there any decent usb a to usb c cables to use for apple CarPlay? The Anker cable I have barely charges my iPhone when it’s connected.
Interessting new options for musicians with Midi Keyboards & Livestreamers who could plug (via adapter) a ethernet cable for better streaming
I’ve been using Bluetooth for my midi keyboard activities on Cubasis and such. How’s the cable working so far now?
What about wireless? Can I use my wireless chargers from previous models on the 15 as well?
Why use wireless when usb-c type3 is faster?
Would Lenovo or Dell usbc chargers work? One is 65w
Iphone 15 Can support External Monitor using USB-C to Display Port?

@@AppleInsider really? Can play movie 4K HDR using Iphone 15?, cuz i think i must buy iphone 15 pro because support USB 3.1 😆
Are you sure the DJI Wireless mic works with the usb c adapter?? It does not work on the iPad Pro with the same adapter…
3:50 “you can plug in your are iPhones” 😂😂😂
isn't lightening supposed to be up to 40Gbps
Roughly 480 MBPS at top transfer speed.
It's significantly slower than USB C
@Truth-of-the-matter that's pathetic speed. Is there different versions of lightning
@christianmcbrearty on my acer laptop I now use this slow power for a microphone
Mine was not included my USB cable
Can you connect the regular iphone to a display?
Is it possible to connect android phone and transfer data between the phones?
Is 3rd party "Hdmi (input) to USB-C" encoder work? I saw you have it on your video. I like to connect DSLR camera to the phone.
What about connecting iPhone 15 type c (90%) to a powerbank type c (10% remaining)?
Will the iPhone charge the powerbank?
Nope
@@hass1337but why what makes it know that’s a power bank ? Please explain
The new iPhones talk to the device over usb. To make a decision on what devices needs or has more power to supply power to its. The iPhone supports usb PD and that’s the same protocol most tech uses to determine power draw or power direction of flow
@@Chunter_mk4 thanks makes sense
Thank you ! I been looking for this but no youtuber is doing this
U sure
@@ComicKish they weren’t as early as him at that point of time
I watched the video to find out about listening to music without the lighting port. The video ended... did I miss it?
You use the USB-C port… same as lighting, just different connector
Please let me know what microphone you ate using.
I primarily use the DJI mic. Not sure if that's good or bad?
Even in Android no company gives usb3.0 type c cable in box
I wish they gave us a choice so much type of charging port we can choose
for me i have the iphone 12 pro max pacific blue color. or i can wait for the iphone 16 pro max or the iphone 17 pro max. or i could wait until the iphone 18 pro series. coming in 1 to 3 years and maybe a full screen/ display. and also thin bezels for the iphone series. is it worth it to upgrade to the iphone 15 series with usb-c port. or i can get a gaming phone for a good price.
