people say it's a bad game because they live in the fucking past. if resident evil would've sticked with their past games like 1-2-3 it would've been forgotten nowadays because they were good and scary for their times when there was nothing else like them. nowadays nothing of it scares you, the only part where you feel true scared per say is when you get chased and jumpscared, and that still remains nowadays so i don't know what the fuck are they crying about... things have to evolve, that's how life is. get over it.
