This is quite possibly the most impressive thing I've ever seen developed. Not only do you have this running on hardware, but you can do things no other GBA game could dream of.
well doom 1 and 2 were on gba
Tomb raider runs on real gba hardware, using a software renderer
It's a very impressive project. Mad props to the dev. However, it really isn't "the most impressive thing *ever developed*" 😂. Not even remotely. Still very good tho.
Serious Sam Advance was a thing
@@Evil_Pastait wasn't nearly as optimized as this
imagine having something like this back when the GBA released, like a 3d game with level creation and all more to come, really cool!
Yeah. That was great:) ua-cam.com/video/6AhgLxtsKT0/v-deo.html
Yeah, and ability to share levels with your friends via the link cable.
@@UltimatePerfectionand daisy chaining few GBAs to increase power too
this just makes me realise how impressive dooms gba port was
id coders are also insanely talented
how bout Ballistix Ecks vs Sever?
And also Tomb raider
You are truly a genius in the world of GBA 3D home brew.
That is very kind of you to say so thank you 😊
When you said “but what if you want the roof to be taller” and you actually moved the roof up that blew my mind. Most related 3d on gameboy advance stuff I’ve seen is pretty basic wolvenstein like so the fact that you can actually look up and down in addition to left and right is also amazing.
you cant actually look up and down, its a trick and its distorted because of y-shearing. you can do the same trick in wolfenstein-style raycasters.
Super impressive seeing something like this on GBA.
Man, this is insanely impressive!
part 3 of the doom engines gonna be INSANE
there's alredy an oficial doom port and a unoficial prboom port
gba doom about to see a resurge?
I used to build maps for Duke Nukem 3D back in the 90s. This reminds me a lot of the build engine and the level creator. Super cool work mate
I was thinking it reminded me of making an old doom map
Everyone is talking about how impressive this is on the gba. And thats true. But its also some excellent ui/ux optimization to be able to pull all of this off with so few inputs at your disposal. I mean, you have 4 directional buttons, two face buttons, two shoulder buttons, and the start & select buttons. We're not working with a lot here.
the fact youre doing this on gba of all things is inspirational, subbed
Oh my gosh this is so technically impressive. Great work!!
Do you have an idea for a ready-made game made with that engine?
That's a new engine, not even finished and that means nobody created anything on it.
@@szigo3211which is why he’s asking if he plans to make any actual games with it..?
I have several of my favorite PS1 and N64 games I'd love to see as a demake on the GBA. And modern games too.
@@3DSage I will follow your channel closely.
1:22 Minecraft on GBA is coming along nicely
That’s insanely incredible. I didn’t even know something like that could be possible let alone with that much customization available.
I'm getting flashbacks from the Build Engine days. You go, Ken Silverman!
Definitely reminds me of the build engine. Looks really great! Good job!
Was surprised to see the z axis, so you can even look up and down, unlike in doom for example
The open sky texture illusion looks amazing! I can't believe I am seeing something like this being able to run on a GBA!
This is really cool! My suggestion is that the player should be able to draw other ceiling textures vertically instead of just one, to have a wider variety of sky textures.
I lack the vocabulary and the artistry to really put into words how amazing this is
I feel the same way about thanking you for saying that 🤍
*casually adds level editing and a hundred textures to an already impressive game*
Honestly, this is insane. I don’t even have words for how impressive this actually is. Multi-million dollar companies with some of the best game developers in the world couldn’t do anything like this.
Modern games devs are nothing compared to the old pros. The hardware limitations brew geniuses and today everyone panics at the word "optimization". So sad to see.
@@vanceyootoob5503they don't know the basics anymore, they all rely on diagnostic tools and kits now.
Have you not seen the Asterix games?
@@litjellyfish And Obelix? Atari was dope then. Olympic Games. 💪
@@defectiveparts8604 haha yes I remember that. I meant Asterix and Obelix XXL on the GBA.
This kinda reminds me of the demo for Ken Silverman's Build Engine. This is so far really cool!
Mindblowing! 🤯

HOLY SHIT. This is insanely cool. Imagine morrowind or daggerfall like rpg on this. Aaaah. So excited!!
This is giving early day ipod touch vibes!!! I remember playing "Minecraft" Type games like this on my ipod touch FAR BEFORE minecraft was ever officially on the app store haha
This is impressive! Great work!
Thank you so much, friend! :)
Holy moley!
Pure raw talent is something to behold.
Impressive! The editing works like in the Build Engine, cool!
This is actually really impressive ✨✨. The way you designed the interface, that made the level editor look so easy and intuitive👏. Not even apps made by big companies have that level of perfection. Hope this grows even more 😊
wow that's the best compliment! I spent a long time trying to figure out the best and easiest way to use the interface :)
This amazing. Much better than anything I made for the desktop, lol.
I love the sky texture too, it looks very good
woah so it's kinda like the doom builder but for GBA.
this is actually pretty fucking impressive ngl, it looks incredible!
Dood, this is ballin out of control! So sick. Gonna stay tuned.
Wouw, this is neat! Just started working on my own engine, based on the code from episode 1 and 2 :-) Thanks for sharing!
what amazing progress you've made on this project! this is absolutely incredible!
VD-dev tier stuff mate. phenominal work, thank you
Damn I'm stumped trying to do this in MonoGame and you straight up did it on a tiny ARM handheld from ages ago with very little memory. Highly impressive
this is absolutely outstanding, this looks amazing and just imagine the possibilities with something like this, wow
That is crazy super impressive. I did not had a chance to stumble on your channel before but now Im subscribed :)
I'm here for the cat
Super cool, this is like having the Build editor on the GBA.
Amazing. I learned about you from the 3d thumby maze, this gba project is even more incredible!
As a fan of the isometric 3D GBA games this is a cool display of ingenuity/creativity to push the system! I would really like to see a a 3rd person over the shoulder platformer in the future on the GBA and this would is a major step in that direction.
This is so awesome. I love seeing people going back to old consoles with new media/tech
This is incredible, love the amount you can do just with gba hardware!!
This is awesome! Man. The indie devs of today are doing the craziest things with old consoles
This is wholesome amazing man. Keep it going.
You just blew me away....I think back to the old days when I was a sad lonely kid...how great would this have been....
I wish PSP community had more homebrew developers like you!
I was surprised to find working Minecraft, but it's been a year from a last update, which means that it's probably abandoned. And there is no other homebrews with high quality...
Considering its simplicity. This looks rather easy to otg level edit. I like it.
This is absolutely insane! I hope people take this and make amazing dungeon crawlers with it!
Over a hundred textures is some very nice variety and that shading modifier adds some good opportunity for nuance in the level architecture. I like it!
Pretty sweet. Would love to see another DOOM coding tutorial.
I'm still working on making more programming tutorial videos!
That cat is excited about this for sure!😸
Leo can hardly contain his excitement for this game engine! 😺
I can see how someone could use this to actualy make a game. Realy nice!
Wow mate. You've built something incredible.
Thank you for saying that! :)
this is everything i ever wanted out of my GBA when i was little. you are making dreams come true man...
Very, very cool, it's so nice that you can edit the level while in it, bravo
This man is going to invent the next thermonuclear bomb someday. I fear his creative drive and power, the intuition within scares me.
That Mapster-like interface is great and gives an urge to try.
This is amazing. Great work! Keep it up!
You've kept up this admirable work since a long time now 😲 Truly a good reason to get a GBA back
Mindblowed!!! Congratulation on your progress! You got yourself a new follower❤
Thank you so much!! :)
That is freaking amazing! Great work!
Holy crap, man!.... You are a madman!! Very impressive work! I love it :D
Thank you!! :)
Looks really good I remember having 007 nightfire on gba I remember being blown away that it was actually 3D just was so clunky lol
wow this is amazing! I suggest you add moving walls and 2D objects. It will be very cool if you do this
I'd say "short and sweet" but this is SO much more than just sweet. You are MAD skilled for being able to make this!!!
I love the usability of your UI! The engine is impressive, but making it easy to use is a big deal.
It looks insane, fantastic job!
this is really cool man, it just gets better and better
DUDE THIS IS SO COOL, Jaw dropped to the floor, instant like and subscribe
Thank you so much for your support! More coming soon! :)
amazing progress man, excited to try this out on my flash cart
OMG Ive been waiting thank you!
that is really cool. imagine what kind of things people could have made back in the day
Okay, no joke. This already would be an amazing '3D game maker' for any system, including modern PC or Switch, but to get it all into a GBA? Holy....
Imagine making something like a first-person dungeon crawler on the GBA using this engine.
The level editor in Marathon Infinity had a similar way of applying texturing. You could also drag them around to adjust alignment
That landscape texture reminded me of Marathon maps, too.
Very nice!
Seems even more fluid than DooM, but maybe it's because you are "only" rendering the level (and not playing music, managing AI, etc.)
In any case, it's very interesting and clean!
I dont know what to say, this looks incredible!!!
incredible work! very impressive!
looks amazing. Big congrats 🎉
whoa you're a wizard sir. if I not mistaken in driver 3 (and some other 3d game I can't remember) the wall texures become weird when you got close to it so I think it was just imossible to do a clean 3d game on the gba. but here you just did it. super!
This is amazing great work dude!
That's really cool. And impressive!
I love people remaking games and engines on old hardware, kinda reminds me of the portal on the n64 prokect
Absolutely amazing work!
Thank you for saying that!
New love for old hardware is good to see.
This looks really good!!
That's impressive! Please, go on, dude!
wow, just wow, unbelievable work
wow the skybox texture is really clever too wow on all of it great job
I'm proud of that too! Thank you! :)
You should allow any texture to be used as skybox. Also some way for custom textures?
This is just so fascinating to watch.
DAMN I tried an early version of this and didn't know you were the creator thanks to the algorithm I guess. You are doing big things man keep it up!!
God damn this looks great. Love to see hardware pushed like this.
So awesome. love everything about it.
Nice. Looks like one of those uni projects we did in the 80s.
