I had been playing a bit with Luminar AI but recently purchased Neo mostly to easily remove some power lines and get the layers. But I couldn't find any decent tutorials - until now. You do a great job showing various features in a simple, straightforward way without a bunch of unnecessary chatter. Excellent content and use of time. Thanks!
Don, thank you so much for the kind words and that you for the support! I'm glad you found your way here. 👍 I like to keep it as simple as possible as I know TIME is so precious to people, even me! Please let me know if you have any questions or requests! Much more Neo content in the works.
Thanks so much for the feedback and checking it out, I appreciate you. You will definitely get more out of Luminar Neo considering it has extra features like Relight AI, Mask AI, Dust Removal and all the other features to come. Neo is more for the editor that wants to learn and grow, whereas AI is meant for quick edits, using templates and minor adjustments. Still a very capable program that is more than enough for most but personally I think Neo has more to offer. It's not perfect yet but with every update it's getting better! I actually have a video to edit on this very topic but I was waiting for this latest update. Stay tuned for that to come!
Awesome video, I liked the background light colors, did you record this video at night or in the morning? It feels warm to watch your video because of the light, I have been using Premiere pro to do the same but now I moving to another software. Thank you for sharing this video 👏
Thank you so much Arwa! This was recorded during the day but I record in my basement so there is no natural lighting. I use a video light with a 36" softbox for my main light, then I have another smalled LED light for fill light and the background is 1 LED light that I can change the colour. I also moved from Premiere a few years ago to Davinci Resolve and haven't looked back. What software are you considering to use?
Very cool - I would definitely use this for some of my nature vacation photos. Making any progress with Procreate? I'm waiting for you to master it, so you can teach me haha
@@MonzonMedia I haven't been doing much yet, but I'll be diving in heavy this coming weekend. I just ordered a new ipad pro just for Procreate, so hopefully I love it.
@@alifeinvisible Same bud...hoping to get a new one, mine is super old and it can barely keep up. One of the reasons why I haven't been trying it out too much but so far love what I see.
Hi Joseph, appreciate the question. Typically it takes anywhere from 5-9 seconds in my testing to trigger Mask AI. However I have experienced some sluggishness every now and then. It seems to depend on the type of picture too. I've been waiting for this feature to do a dedicated video on performance. How about you, I'm curious to know your experiences because we all have different systems.
@@jmreagle Wow that is a long time! How much RAM do you have? I know Neo is a memory and processor hog. I'm running a Ryzen 5800X for my processor, 32GB RAM and a 3060TI. I wonder if Neo isn't optimized for M1 Macs yet? Does portrait Bokeh AI take long as well?
Please keep shouting about mask Ai for animals, cos your right, there are thousand's of us that struggle with the brush, were portrait guys can just click, which is the kind of point with Neo, and one of the reasons we bought it. So yes Luminar how about us!!
Agree 100% they did add an object detection that works for animals but only with background remover plug-in why not do the same for masking? Also this is an older video, I was hoping this would not be an issue still at this point.
Subbed, you make great videos. You're implementation plan was easier to follow than the "Bigger" channels. Glad I found YOUR channel, Thanks👍
Buzz Bladz, you made my day with your comment. What a great way to start my day! Thank you, means a lot to me! Welcome to the community! 🙌🏼👍🏼
Hi everyone! Hope you got some value from this video, what would you like to see next from Luminar Neo?
I agree we need Mask AI for animals!
Would be nice wouldn’t it? I hope they add it eventually.
first time that i really understood masking techniques bravo!!!!!
Ivan! That means the world to me! Thanks so much for the feedback and if you have any requests any time, please do ask! I appreciate you! 👍🏼

Absolutely brilliant and so practical to use! Thank you
You are very welcome! Yes very practical techniques that can be used in various ways. Really appreciate the feedback and appreciate you! 👍
Once I get a new laptop and get a more stable money, I'll have to use Luminar ASAP!
Can’t wait to show you some stuff! Aren’t you using Lightroom mobile? It’s pretty good for a mobile app.
@@MonzonMedia . Remind me this again when we meet this Sunday!
Thanks!
You are welcome!
Great tips! What would you say are the different strengths between Luminar Neo and Luminar AI? I have both and I’m. Or even sure ha

How long did the mask AI take you? Seems like you cut those out, but in my experience they take a while.

8gb, much more modest
@@jmreagle that would explain it. 16GB is the recommended RAM. They are still to optimize graphics card utilization so that may help.
