In the next video coming in a few days, I am going to show you how to use MASK AI with other AI Tools to get incredible photo editing results, if that sounds like something you would enjoy, please hit subscribe and I will see you there :)
Best Neo Masking tutorial I've seen, just at the right pace, easy to follow and understand. Just subscribed and looking forward to the next video. All the best.
This is a great video. Thanks, Ben. I'm just a newbie and have been struggling to figure out how I can make changes to certain part of a photo without impacting the other parts. Just subscribed.
Thank you for your för your videos about Luminar Neo. I have it and not had time to learn it, Looks amazing ! Masking is really fantastic.! Your videos are for me very useful!!!!
Hi Ben, using the circular mask. would it be possible to add a blurred effect to the wheels to indicate motion, please? Thanks for posting your comprehensive guide to masking. Regards JB
Great video! THE best masking video I've seen. Now here's a challenge for you. I'm casually doing some interior real estate photography and I'm trying to find the best way to do window pulls so that I can get a clear view of the outside from the inside. I wish Neo had a polygon mask where I could outline the inside of the window frame and mask that section. Do you know of a way to do that in Neo? I do know that if you create a mask with the brush tool, you can click on one corner, for instance and then hit shift and click on another corner and it will draw a straight line and that is helpful but not exactly what I need. Any thoughts? Thanks!
Thank you for your video. What about if I want to remove something from a mask? For example, an object very close to a human that the AI thinks it's part of the human I'm trying to bokeh?
Ben, I've bought luminar neo and luminar AI. I'm a total newbie. I hope you plan to cover both pieces of software in the same manner as this video, as I'm sure there are many out there, like me, who need to know what everything does. Hope you keep it like this format as some take previous knowledge for granted.
That's great news Paul, yes lots more videos like this one, will be coming in the near future. I look forward to hearing more about your journey into the world if Luminar.
In-depth videos on all the luminar range, and indeed if you can: lightroom and Photoshop. In each of the aforementioned show the order of operations that you use for your most consistent results. Say a 1- 10 or whatever number list. I'd personally love that. As an example how would you approach let's say taking a shot, converting to black and white and giving it the same stunningly beautiful contrast as David Yarrow does with his fine art photographs. There's a couple of Yarrow's photographs: one of a lone elephant and another if a lion which are seriously contrasty.
Running version 1.1.0 and the mask in every option has been removed 😟 Great video by the way, it has really helped me understand how to take advantage of the masking ai
Hey Jim, subscribed to your channel a couple of days ago ... you have good stuff. Thanks for your posts on Luminar Neo. I'm going to get it very soon ... via your affiliate link. BTW --do you every do "Flambient" interior work, like what is done in PhotoShop and in Affinity Photo? If so, how do you have a tutorial on it? (Ref. Richard Baum, Anthony Morganti, Nathan Cool ... and others ... on the Flambient technique.) I have Affinity Photo and CaptureOne Pro (instead of LIghtRoom & PhotoShop). I appreciate any suggestions or help on the 'flambient' method using Luminar Neo. Cheers, Chuck (NE Florida) : +)
Mask AI is amazing. (i have Neo since day 1 and see it is getting better with every update, now at 1.0.7). having said that: is there a way to cut out the selected masked person (in my case, so the perfectly masked human) AND then layer it on another image (brought in thru "add new layer" button on the upper left). have been trying to achieve that, but i asmit that i am failing. what are "tricks" (or steps) to do that?
Could you please advise me the most effective way to purchase luminar? According to what I've heard, if I purchase it as a subscription, I will have access to new updates and features, but if I purchase it as a one-time payment, I will just receive stability updates. What method do you use to pay for your luminar? Thank you.
Hi Allister, what you have been told is mostly correct. The subscription has added benefits, an example would be the new HDR Merge feature which is free on subscription but about £40 if you have paid for the one time payment. You do still get all the updates and fixes completely free of course when you have paid the one time payment plus any new tools which were scheduled to be included in new updates, like in this video MASK AI was added in an update, that's free. I hope this has helped a little, please feel free to ask anything else if you need to. Kindest regards Ben
Hi, certain AI tools can take between 10 to 30 seconds to load at times, but apart from that no, can you give me an example of what you are experiencing?
Great video! Only local editing masks though... [Edit] As Ben said in the video, local masks can be copy/pasted into other tools. So that is cool. I might have to move on from Luminar 4 now.
@@PPS-UK Apologies Ben, I didn't see the mask copy option when watching your Great video. I was stopping it and going to Neo to try things out and must have jumped past it.
lol, great minds think alike eh? then again this is not my first tutorial to view related to 1.0.6 so maybe no fair. I just like to find as many creators as I can and I think I view tutorials from all that are doing Luminar tutorials at the moment but since NEO, I have added a few.

Is there a way to adjust an established mask? Like if using relight and the background mask is overlapping the foreground.

Love it.
Thank you for your video. What about if I want to remove something from a mask? For example, an object very close to a human that the AI thinks it's part of the human I'm trying to bokeh?
You could use the brush tool under the mask options, set it to erase and paint over it, this will tell the AI to remove it.
Thanks!

The picture with the guy walking. Why didn’t you just paste in the previous selection into B/W instead of doing it yourself?
Absolutely right, when doing long videos in 1 take, sometimes the obvious becomes the forgotten 🙂

No stamping, no copying. 👎
And no global (layer) edit masking.
