I found you recently but you have become my fashion inspiration when it comes to dressing in a dark Academia Aesthetic. I love how you add in gloves and other things that are specific to you but it makes it so much more personable. So happy I found your page🥰
I used to go to Plato’s Closet ALL the time! I got my favorite pieces from there. But recently the resell shop that is super popular right now where I live is “Uptown Cheapskate”. It is awful!! I have taken Anthropologie, Ralph Lauren, and other high quality brands like Peruvian Connection, Lululemon to resell there and they would not take them!! (!?) they just want fast-fashion brands that are completely polyester or whatever is “trending”. It was absurd. 😣 I love thrifting online, too. I started during the pandemic because I needed “new” clothes after having a baby but couldn’t go anywhere so I started looking on eBay and Poshmark (I’d thrifted on eBay before but was new to Poshmark. When I finally was able to start going in person, I was looking for a maxi dress for winter, and came across a cotton, floor length shirtdress with a collar and totally functional buttons all the way down! And it was in maroon/burgundy, one of my accent colors for my capsule wardrobe, and was $4!! I did end up taking it to a seamstress to get takin in at the sides so it wouldn’t be so boxy, but still for $16 it was a brand new dress and I wore it weekly all winter long!! I love this video! You are so good at thrifting and I love seeing your process.
The other day I went to the thrift store. I found this nice coat that was super my style. I didn’t recognize the brand but when I looked up it was an absolute steal. I got it for $3 and it originally sold for $80-$100 😮
I loved this video! Thanks for sharing how you thrift online because I’ve struggled with it for a couple years now, and I usually go in person. It has its perks of going to an actual store, but sometimes it’s easier to look and find something specific online. I’m going to try these tips. Thanks again girl! 😊❤️
I definitely need to thrift the clothes are better quality for some reason. Most the time. Also making a list of what I need it will help my random buying. Thank you🍂
I find it really interesting that you have more luck at Platos closet and style encore. I've gone in there a few times and never buy anything lol but at Value Village I ALWAYS find something haha. The thought of thrifting online has never crossed my mind. I know a lot of people LOVE Thredup and Depop but I've never tried it either of them, maybe I'm old fashioned and can't get myself to online shop LOL (I say this as someone in their 20s haha) However I love Etsy and its the only online store I shop from, mainly for Vintage clothes (I have a whole video on it, tips on how to shop on Etsy). Maybe I'll give Thredup a chance next time I am looking for something specific thank for the tips!
I used to not have much luck at all at Platos closet but I started going again recently and found something every time! I definitely need to check out etsy some more! ❤️

Just went thrifting today! I got two turtlenecks, one black and one purple, and a tan sweeter vest.

Its crazy how "hit or miss" places can be eh? Just depends on what people in your area are donating!
@@courtneymarie3370 totally !!!! And you kinda know what locations are good for certain things (Decor, dresses, bags etc)
