Being a Brit I have to tell you that the framed picture isn’t of a Scottish castle it’s a gothic/medieval cathedral in York, which is in England not in Scotland ♥️
Why everyone being so rude? Lol. I can see why she misunderstood but also why it seems obvious to everyone else… perhaps the same reason someone from the UK could buy a portrait of a mansion in Canada on a trip to Canada and America, writing something similar… and someone 30 years later thinks it’s America… not all of us are architectural savants lol. Scotty, I think it’s beautiful and I’d totally hang something like that in my home! (PS I have a painting of a Scottish castle in my home. Someday someone may think it’s English lol!!)
That’s what someone else said too. I love that! Definitely will be used for something different but I think that gives it some charm knowing in the past a gentleman might have stored his pocket watch and keys in it. Not me inventing a story about an eccentric physics professor who once owned this box 😂
My dad had something like that. There were holes in the top for him to put his pipes. I don't know if a pipe would fit in the holes on yours or not but my father would smoke a pipe and his valet included space for that
From an “old lady” ( I’m 52) to a young lady- I just found your channel and I think you must be my much younger cooler hipper doppelgänger. I absolutely adore you and our styles are very similar. I don’t know all your terminology but I can glean what Grandmacore means and I’m so in to it! Yes you should have gotten those shoes. Also I wish you had gotten the little round framed bird pictures for me. Absolutely love the embroidered clutch- I have one very similar.
Aww thank you! 🥰 there were plenty of things on this trip I didn’t get that I regret however in my next trips I found even better stuff so stay tuned! Working on a few videos at the moment haha 😂
I love that you're being so sustainable when thrifting! Like thinking if you actually need it, does it fit your aesthetic even if it's super cute so you leave it to someone else! Love that you're being so considerate :)/ Also great video! 💗
I love this video! I need to watch the rest of your thrift hauls. I'd love to see more decor content. I love cottagecore and dark academia, and it's so fun to see someone thrifting for that aesthetic!
Yess! I mean some look meh but the ones I have look great without the dust jacket. Plus idk if it’s just me, but the dust jackets of my books always get a little messed up around the edges when I carry them in my bag. And the tan 80’s top is a dream. I made a scene when I saw it and ran to it gasping 😂😂 a lady in the next isle was like 👀
This is the first video I have seen of yours. I am enjoying it. You mentioned that you take dust jackets off, I do too. For MY personal library, I cut the front flap that the synopsis is on, I glue it and trim, except for the words and glue it in the front cover, then I do the author from the back flap to the inside back page,,,, The ONLY time I would not do this with is on a 1st edition.... I also love the beautiful, deep and solid colors rather than the chaos of the random dust jackets
Thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed the video. & that’s really clever! I like that. And I totally resonate with preferring the solid color over the chaos of the dust cover. I tend to organize my books by size and color rather than alphabetical (I’m a visual person) so the solid color makes it much easier! ☺️
Taking off the dust jacket is definitely acceptable. However don’t get rid of it. If you do decide to resell or regift, return the dust jacket as it helps retain the books overall value.
The second wooden box is for the office for sure. It isn't antique, but I had one from the 60s. I had a larger wooden Japanese "writing box" (like a pen + ink sorter + outbound/inbound letters section) from the 80s like that too, but it was made in the style of the 50s-60s, the way we make "1970s style" stuff in 2023.
Awe! Love that you called her your goodluck charm! I have friends that insist I go thrift with them because they swear up and down I have magical thrift powers and the good stuff only shows up if I'm there! 😂 I think some of us just have a better eye/ years more experience...I've been thrifting since I can remember...so I know where they hide the good stuff! 😜
I loved YOUR thrifting stuff and your humor (you are very well preserved for 85 years old 🤣). So want that old style little orange purse with attached mirror!!!!! Was thinking those old books bound by rubber bands might have been cool by replacing rubber band with ribbon or lace and laid flat on something OR maybe in shadow box OR maybe pics on pages inside put in frames (although it's hard for me to take apart a book).
I have that exact same kitten photo! It’s in a round frame too. It was given to me from my great grandma, who loved to cut out images from magazines and calendars for decor. ❤
Thrift 'till you drop kind of day. Yes that's the kind of day I love :D My parents-in-law have the entire set of the soup cups, with all the different kind of soups :D
I always see those cups too! They’re so cute! I’m always so tempted but I own a million cups/mugs 😂 and only I use like 2 of them depending on what’s clean. My “emotional support mugs” 😂
Be careful thrifting dishware, older glassware can contain lead. My sister got lead poisoning this past summer from cute thrifted cups. You can get a lead chemical testing kit online. Just a PSA.
I love the haul and loove your style! I also decorate in the cottagecore, dark academia style and am always thrifting for stuff I definitely don’t need lol. But it makes me happy and it’s for the aesthetic 😊 Glad you popped onto my home page!
You have such a lovely youtube presence and your editing is better than alot of thrifting channels I've seen! I've been on the hunt for a new person to binge watch that has similar style to me and I'm so glad I came across your channel♡
I remember the infomercials for the Olde Brooklyn Lantern. The big selling point was that they were made from "genuine metal!" They never specified what metal.
Those platters you regret not getting could be used for so many things. You could display vintage jewelry. Hair clips or even your most used to go makeup items.
- That cute little kitten painting is AMAZING, I would have also immediately snatched it up~! - The round frame immediately has cozy, mysterious, royalty portrait vibes; loving it. - The circular bird art is also adorable! ;o; Your style is so cute, it's great hearing you talk about the pieces you found, took home, and left behind! c:
I recently got a very nice Kalvin klein sweater dress for six dollars at goodwill, the best part was that it fit me perfectly and was in great condition!
Omg! I totally do that with dust jackets too! It only stays if the hardcover looks icky underneath! And the entire douglas addams for that price?! Hardcover?! I'd literally squeal right there in the store!😂
You should consider buying some of the clothes you likes but would t fit you, and making pillows out of them. Especially that one cottage core dress. Would be so cute.
That might be a good idea! I think though I would only do that for garnets that have busted zippers or a portion that is damaged. If feel bad turning a garment that’s wearable for someone else into a pillow. But that’s just me haha.
Oh I'm having a candle and fire light moment as well, but it bugs me a potential fire so I saw at aliexpress some led candles that flickered just like the real candles, and they even have some that you can buy in a set and turn all of them on and off at the same time with a remote control! And they are pretty cheap.
Thank you! 🥰 the lamp is so cool. I’ve already incorporated it in a photoshoot and plan on doing more. I definitely want to give it an antique brass paint job in the future.
Was searching for some vintage inspiration for my bedroom and came across your channel. I decided to subscribe, We have a shared interest in all the “old lady” things. ❤️
I have a matching vase to the leaf pitcher! It would be super interesting to know where they are from originally, since I got mine from a little antique thrift store in Finland.
So... I'm not sure but I am pretty sure that I bought the same pillow sham (just one) from my local charity gift shop... Lmk if you want to make yours a set!
Glad you’re enjoying them! It’s a great time to thrift right now. It’s feeling like spring in some areas so people are cleaning stuff out! Lots of cool things to find! 🤩
The bigger drawer thing I believe is an apothecary style. If you search that it should come up! They’re pretty trendy right now so if you search that you might be in luck!

Definitely York Minster. Walk past it nearly everyday.
Why everyone being so rude? Lol. I can't tell if it looks like Yorkminster or Lincoln Cathedral?
The organizer with the drawer is a men’s valet for the top of a bureau . The sections are for keys, change, wallet, etc.
That’s what someone else said too. I love that! Nordic Sweater...amazing!!!
I love this video! I need to watch the rest of your thrift hauls. I'd love to see more decor content. I love cottagecore and dark academia, and it's so fun to see someone thrifting for that aesthetic!
More decorating and decor thrifting content will be coming soon 😁 maybe not right away, but depending on circumstances, maybe the next few months.
That beautiful picture at 6.40 is York Minster! Where I’m from! 💕😊
Oh wow! 🤩
I love finding vintage books just for the neat cover to display. Bye Bye book sleeve! Love a good vintage haul; so fun! :)
Vintage books are honestly so superior. They don’t make books like they used to!
One can never have too many poofy sleeve tops! Amazing thrift finds!
Agreed! Poofy sleeve tops are the foundation of my wardrobe haha.
Howdy, I believe that photo is of the York Minster - a beautiful big Cathedral in England. It’s breathtaking!
Someone else also commented about this! I was bamboozled by the writing on the back haha.
Aww! I love that your MIL is your thrifting buddy. That's so cute!
Yeah we always have a good time! 💖I’m fortunate to have a great relationship with my in-laws. They are amazing, my second parents! 🥰
If you put glass back in that pretty white frame, you can use it for a dry erase board.
I am always take the dust jackets off cuz they almost always look better . Luv this. Omg the tan 80s top 😍

🥰🥰

For sure! ❤️ I keep mine in a pretty box on my shelf.

I think that wooden kitty painting was on a collectible plate I wanted as a kid! One of those ones you send away for in magazines.
Oh wow!
I love your vibe ✌️🖤
Thank you! ♥️
A new vintage & cosplay channel to watch?! Yessss
🥰🥰

I just gotta say that I watch your videos while I do my crochet and you have a relaxing and cool voice! Kind of like M’égara from Hercules 😊

Omg I am so jealous of that kitty painting and the vintage purse!!!
Love this - even if it was 2 years ago !! Thanks for sharing ! I love all your finds

I love your shows and your thrift hauls. My favorite today was the mustard and brown mock neck sweater.

my favorite item you thrifted in this haul is definitely that vintage clutch purse you paid $30 for...super score!!!
Watching this to get pumped for thrifting this afternoon. Thank you for the Immaculate vibes! :)
Yay! I hope you found some amazing things! ❤️
Such a great haul! I loved the little clutch bag - so cute with the mirror in it! 😊
Honestly that clutch is one of my favs of the haul as well! 💖 as well as the other little clutch.
I almost always take dust jackets off. And I don’t save them. And I’m an avid reader and book lover. 😬😬😬
Loving that granny square crochet blanket as well!

"To the untrained eye.." indeed!!
The small drawer item is called a valet. Used for inkwells, pens, watches, etc. Typically used by men on their nightstands or desks.
Oh hell yes a new channel to binge
8:34, I though the holes could be used to hold makeup brushes lol

WAIT omg i just went to check my shelf and i have the SAME hitchhikers guide book :0
Omg we have the same taste, i love every single item you got, good job at this thrifting round!! The tapestry bags look so pretty💕

🥰 yay! Welcome 💖
I have a matching vase to the leaf pitcher! It would be super interesting to know where they are from originally, since I got mine from a little antique thrift store in Finland.
So glad you got the clutch :)
Isn’t it beautiful?? Love it 🥰
That wooden thing that looked like a jewelry box, it is a Men's vanity, for him to sit his watch and whatnot in so he won't loose it at bed time.
Yeah a few others were saying that! I love it. ☺️
You're darling & precious like that candlestick! That sweater rules.💖💖
Aww thank you! ☺️
Fellow nerd cottage core lady…hello!
Hello! 👋🏼😁
This was fun. Thank you!
♥️🥰
i am the same way when it comes to my ✨aesthetic ✨ I'm either really into mid century OR i'm really into weird vintage pieces lol
LOL right?? Like it has to have function but also needs to look ✨noice✨
It's a men's jewelry box & coins, keys etc.
So jealous of your sweaters
Ty! I have so many sequesters honestly lol I didn’t need to thrift more. 😂
Lots of great stuff loved it
Thank you!
What area of the country are you in, if you are comfortable sharing? These prices and the selection are so good!!!
13:33 a moment of silence for the shoes.
Shoes: Ono
So... I'm not sure but I am pretty sure that I bought the same pillow sham (just one) from my local charity gift shop... Lmk if you want to make yours a set!

Thank you so much 🥰
love your style x
Loving these thrift hauls, need to go now 🤗
Glad you’re enjoying them! It’s a great time to thrift right now. It’s feeling like spring in some areas so people are cleaning stuff out! Lots of cool things to find! 🤩
So Ironic that you find an old Version of Jules Verne when i've startet to Look for one as a birthday present for my sister. (:
Great find!
I hope you find one! Maybe my video is a sign you’ll find one soon ☺️
I sure hope so. It would make her very happy
I love it all. I have been searching for the drawer bit can't find it though, do you happen to remember what section it was in?

Dang I bet You could have pulled the Arabian Knights book apart for the Art inside!
Didn’t think of that lol

Don’t worry all my books are without the dust jackets, purely for ✨aesthetic✨
