its a winter WOnderland out there i think i need to pick up a AMC Swiss army knife at some point for the collection nice amount , i had a trusty Swiss Army knife when i was trucking Over the Road and it served me well for almost a decade i need to find it
My favorite , EDC is my Pioneer X Alox. My ultralight SAK is a Walker. That being said , I carry a Huntsman in my vehicle in an Altoid tin along with a Ferro Rod , a button flashlight , and a few small firestarters 🙂
@@TheForester71 That Alox Pioneer X a bit heavy for your type of hiking , but makes a nice camp knife. I like the Walker with it's saw spine for my Ferro rod in a light package. Thank you for sharing your trips and tips 😊👍
Ive got two huntsman, a fieldmaster, my favorite is a ranger, a one hand opening trekker and a rangergrip78. Love all of them but the ranger is my goto. I use a tinker for whittling/ carving. One huntsman is fron the late 70's. No hook, tweezers or toothpick, no hole in awl and no pin hole.
The Huntsman is right up near the top of my list for hiking. However, I don’t carry mine much because it’s just not the right tool-set for every day (and it’s heavy). The Compact is my preferred EDC SAK, when I can only have one knife. But to be honest, I usually carry a SAK as a secondary to a modern folder. The Nailclip 580 fills this role better than most, therefore I would consider the 580 my ‘Favorite’.
Howdy, howdy Forester. I don't know the model name, but I've been carrying my minimal knife with scissors, blade, and file with toothpick and tweezers for decades. All the big trails and every hike I've done since the mid 80's. Mine is a Wenger. FYI - Maharg is visiting in early Feb for a reunion. Join us!
I carry a huntsman camo everyday on a lanyard in my rear pocket , Also have a alox farmer x i like it alot, I have two camo huntsman, and 1 wood huntsman oh and one black huntsman , i gave away my climber and hiker, i like having a saw and awl, and scissors that is my requirements for a swiss army knife, oh and the most used cap lifter For beers of course
The two I have been using to cut the plastic off pallets have never been sharpened. Still very sharp. They stay sharp for a long time if you don’t abuse them. Then you can sharpen them.

I should get an Alox 😉. Walker is a great lightweight knife.

Thanks for sharing. I like the trekker too for a slightly bigger knife.
I have a Classic SD and a Fieldmaster. Now, I want a Spartan.
Spartan is a classic 😉

Sounds about right 🙏✌️
So far:
Spartan
Compact
Bantam Alox (my favorite)
Explorer
SwissCard Classic
Huntsman Wood soon...
I think I should get an Alox. I don’t have any. Thanks for the comment 🙏
how do you find the edge retention is on the knives?

Really can you have too many Swiss Army knives ? Nothing like some good SAK porn 😀👍
It’s pretty addictive if you love SAKs 🤟
