Jason was a deformed man with superhuman strength and endurance in the first four parts.
Later in the series, they stopped pretending he was even human and he basically just became an unstoppable zombie.
I saw this in 3d with my mom when it came out. There were no seats so we had to stand for the entire movie. Butter from the popcorn was all over the lens of my 3d glasses. I remember it well 😊
Honestly, what kept Jason coming back after every movie was the huge profits that the movies were making at the box office.
For an "In Universe Explanation"? There really isn't any. Its all up to personal interpretation. Some people prefer to think of Jason as a mortal being, raised in the wilderness, who's just very strong and difficult to kill. Others prefer to think of him as a supernatural being who cant be killed "because of magic".
Personally, I'm in the former camp. There are actual medical conditions that can explain Jason's superhuman strength and durability. They're incredibly rare. One of them only has about 1000 known cases world wide. But they are real. Myostatin-related muscle hypertrophy, for example, gives people superhuman strength, roughly double or even triple that of a normal athletic person. And then there's tricho-dento-osseous syndrome, or TDO, which causes bones to become approximately eight times denser than normal, making them virtually unbreakable. It also causes people to be less buoyant, which would explain why Jason was such a poor swimmer as a child, as people with TDO tend to sink to the bottom of the pool or lake. TDO also causes abnormal bone growth, which could explain Jason's facial deformities, if the bone growths happen on the skull. There are even medical conditions which can cause extreme tolerance, or even straight up insensitivity, to pain. One of these is called Chronic Insensitivity To Pain, which means you feel no pain at all. I'm not sure what the other one is called. But it allows one to tolerate pain rather than not feel it at all. If Jason was born with TDO, MRMH, and Pain Tolerance? He could totally do what he does in the movies. The odds of being born with all three conditions in reality are astronomical, but in fiction is completely plausible.
But if you prefer to believe that he's unstoppable "because of magic" then that's your choice. I just like my explanation better.
Wonderful reaction. As to Jason's change of clothes, remember Edna was taking laundry off the line. Jason stole Harold's clothes therefore Edna looking outside thought it was harold playing peek-a-boo within the clotheslines. :)
Before you owned up Kemi, I knew you were chatting alot more than usual to take your mind off of what was unfolding onscreen lool.
You are such a trooper and a brave person to endure these films when it's obvious you aren't that keen on them because they frighten you.
That and the fact of how attentive you are, getting totally invested in every film you react too, is why your channel is so popular.

Even though December 13, 2024, is also on a Friday, I will not request that Kemi watch the next installment in the franchise until June, 2025. 😁
