I love to imagine what it would look like down there with no water. The amount of ship wrecks, new species ect you'd find.

I like the idea of using Richard Hammond and his trademark height to emphasise the impressive size of what is being looked at.

I cannot believe i missed top-gear for years, saw my first one about 6 months ago now and i can see why so many like it, i love the presenters, Clarkson, Hammond, May, James May is just excellent but so is Little Richy here :) This was a great show, always reminds me of how wonderful the BBC is, enriching... anyhew thanks.

I thought the final graphic left a lot to be desired. I could not see where the surface land masses were. If this is the largest canyon, it would not have a width of 62 miles. This is a different structure.

The Zhemchug Canyon isn't really even in this pullback shot... what is actually being revealed here is the Bering Sea and the Aleutian Island chain. The Zhemchug is simply the largest of the indentations into the continental shelf seen along the top of the basin.

A canyon is formed from water erosion, a trench is formed from tectonic activity. They’re only looking at canyons in this clip.

Think the elevations at 1:23 might be just a leedle weeny bit exagerated.
If those illustrations were real the canyons would be more like 40 miles deep.
