The fact that bobo can give you the entire M3 pro kit with a usb cable and battery pack for less money than the plastic piece of junk from Meta, is a big win in my book!

I had the elite battery strap with my Q2 since launch day with no issues. With the new one they’ve beefed it up. That’s what I added when I ordered my quest 3 and I’ve had no issues! Looks, feels and works just fine! A bit expensive though at $130
@@ItsPaulbyI enjoy how it works seamlessly with the quest 3. Like how the charging icon shows the battery pack and such. And it has that pass through charge so you only need to plug in the battery
I appreciate the charging station. It keeps things very organized and makes it that much easier for me to get my VR experience going, as there are no charging cables to undo and the controllers are conveniently angled for grab and go. Placing the components within the cradles is even easier. It's a great design.
So glad that Zenni got into the lens game for VR. I was having to 3D print inserts and buy the cheapo lenses from them anyway. Comes out to only slightly more cost, but no need to print my own attachment and it looks like it'll fit better.

Just adding my 2 cents. I have a Bobo VR M2 pro and I simply 3D printed compatible brackets for the quest 3 (search thingiverse) and they work amazing.
For the audio, I bought some cheap 3.5mm sony earbuds for 10€ because I couldn't be bothered having ANOTHER thing to charge constantly, maybe im deaf but they sound exactly like the ones on the PSVR2, I cannot tell the difference.
The grips might be a good idea I need to look into this.

bobo replied to my email like ima fuckin idiot these people dont deserve service from anyone tbh. Inquired about the out of stocks on amazon and how its so inconsistent with new straps its very hit or miss if youre able to get one. Was told to be quicker and thats my luck. Straight dickheads.
I was wondering if there is a way to 3d print a mount for the headphone case to mount it on the headset or the strap. That way you don't have to look for them all the time. Plus, whenever the headset is off, just switch the USB cable of the battery pack from the headset to the headphones case. That would be cool I think.

I got a Quest 3 recently and I’ve been having a hard time with it because the headset was pulling on the back of my head giving me pain. The Bobo M3 headstrap was a godsend! I’ll finally be able to play VR for hours on end without neck pain!
You forgot to mention that the BoboVR M3 doesn't charge the battery percentage up while playing, it just slows battery consumption down. The Quest 3 takes too much power that the BoboVR M3 can't keep up, and it's extra straining for the battery health

Does it really though. I feel if it’s slowing it, it would just slow it not have a great affect on the battery. I would like to see some test because extra battery life is a must need for the quest 3
@@Hyper.goat14 The BoboVR staff in the official BoboVR Discord literally say in the official FAQ that the batteries "don't actively increase the battery of the Quest 3 while playing. However, the battery will greatly slow down how fast the Quest 3drains."

@@Hyper.goat14I think he’s saying it’s straining for the health of the Bobo VR battery. The quest battery is probably fine, but the affect of draining the battery so quickly on the Bobo probably hurts it a bit more than usual.
Definitely gunning for the Bobo strap, anything to take the pressure off my face from that stiff foam! The earbuds are also looking good.
Unfortunate thing about being an early adopter is lack of 3rd party accessories. Really pining for my Q2 soft pleather facial interface from AMVR, which I found way more comfortable than the popular VR Cover interface.
A little tip that might save some money is i found the free silicone cover you get with quest 2 with a little trimming on the inside fits perfectly on quest 3.i also found you can steam off the foam pad and stick any pu facial pads to it.and if you put a cloth or bit of foam on the adjusters on the strap makes it more comfortable for the back of the head.
Although you shouldnt have to do these things to an expensive gadget.think meta does it on purpose to make more money from the add on's

The BOBOVR M3 Pro also lets you use the Quest 3 without the facia attached (Quest Pro style) which is great for mixed reality games.
perscription lenses are a game changer i would say even if you dont wear glasses getting ones without is still a smart choice as you can protect the real lenses from scratches

My frames aren't big but I still find them annoying to have on. Putting the headset on often pushes them up against my face which then requires me to clean them. Can't wait for my inserts to show up. $50 isn't that bad.

Can't wait for the BOBOVR retrofit kit, missing mine like crazy! Also need VRCover to bring out a new facial interface - can't beat them for comfort. I got the Zenni lens inserts and they are great, only problem is I keep putting on the headset wearing my glasses (!) and I also can't see anything through the nose gap - thank Meta for full colour passthrough! 5:45 a hole punch, like used in offices to punch holes in paper, would fix the hidden IR light in the base of the controller for those Quest 2 grips.
VR Cover grips do slip occasionally if you are doing a throwing motion. I now have the official strap and although expensive for what you get they do a great job and will last as they are not elasticated.

for active straps u can just use the straps that come in box kind of like them too, just loop it around the controller and tighten the string.
4:04 I got the Zennis immediately with my Quest 3 because my sister's Quest 2 is literally too narrow for my glasses. The forward-backward adjustment doesn't do anything to fix that and it looks like the Quest 3 is about as wide as the Quest 2, but these lenses are a live saver
I bought the Meta Elite Strap along with my Q3. I find it far more comfy than stock strap. Hopefully it doesn't snap like the Q2's did 🤞
Same, funny thing is though I still ended up exchanging it for the battery version. Def should of bought that one the first time

Just bought the Meta Quest 3 with cheap accessories from T3 Fiit VR quite comfortable with its HALO strap model
Thrillseeker had an AMAZING tip for comfort - put a hat on backwards with your quest 3 on top 👌👌👌
Also the free quest 2 silicon cover with abit of trimming on inside fits the quest 3 perfectly.the foam pad can be steamed off and you can put any pu facial pad on it

@@DevilishKira it seem to depend on your headshape,i found the stock quest 2 uncomfortable but stock quest 3 i find is fine
@@DevilishKiraplaying the q3 with the regular head strap was pretty uncomfortable. Everyone will have a slightly different experience with this so it’s not guaranteed that you’ll also find it uncomfortable. The backwards hat is just a quick and easy solution instead of having to purchase an extra strap.

I picked up the dock because I have found any way that I can make the device more convenient the more people will use it. Like you said, itis really well made and is super convenient. Considering that it comes with two rechargeable batteries and induction charging, I think it is only slightly overpriced.
I have not been a fan of the halo style head straps but love my BOBO M1 PRO for my Quest 2. I have found that if you like this style of strap but still want the hot swappable batteries for your Quest 3, you can get the basic Quest 3Strap from BOBO and swap the back section of the 2 strap with each other. You just have to take apart the straps at the hinges.
What I don't like about the Soundcore Earbuds is that if I leave the USB-C dongle in place, I get no audio from the built in Quest speakers even if the earbuds are out of my ears and back in the case. I'd like to leave the dongle there all the time (because I have a battery pack elite strap) but sometimes I don't want to use the earbuds. The dongle should be smart enough to know the earbuds are not active and tell the Quest to use the speakers. Also, sometimes when I remove the dongle I'll have no audio until I restart the Quest.
Same, though thus far I've wanted to use the earbuds all the time as they're just so damn good.
Can you use the buds whilst playing a game through Steam VR? Because of the non-data paa through, is this possible or not?
I love these VR headsets.... my main issue is it gets so warm I sweat like crazy and the lenses fog up. Almost need a fan that circulates air flow through the facial interface
i have the soundcore anker earbuds and I use them religiously and they can last me close to 8-9 hours out of the case and then when recharged in the case I can typically somewhere between 36-48 hours before even getting warned about low battery

Yeah, the bobo adapter kit would be great if you could purchase it. My brother was one of the lucky ones to order iit before it went unavailable. His bobo strap isn't being delivered until the end of November. So, for all of us who haven't ordered, it's going to be months out, most likely. 😞 Huge missed opportunity for bobo for the day quest 3 came out.

It's always like, a week after my birthday when things I want some out
The default strap isn't great but the speakers are surprisingly good & loud. There's something to be said for having the more 'ambient type sound' they give as opposed to the sensation of having something wedged into your ear hole or even the slight pressure of over ear headphones.
Also as funny as it sounds I find wearing a baseball cap on backwards underneath the default strap makes it way more comfortable for longer play sessions.
speakers are good on the quest 2 also, just a bit quiet. never liked headphones anyway as the speakers feel more natural
I’ve had the quest one since 2019 now, haven’t upgraded to a quest two and it’s been scratched, dented, and cracked with the left controller almost split down the middle and unbearable stick drift, now that the quest 3 released I finally see a reason to upgrade
Do you notice any loss in FOV when using the m3 since it’s more or less floating in front of your face as opposed to clamping it like the elite strap? Great vid Mike!
No loss in FOV, it still clamps and gets the lenses in the right spot []-)

The official hand grips are adjustable for different hands sizes. I have big hands but had no problem with them so far.
the "problem" with them is that they are very large in size, for bigger hands are fine but if you have small one, and mine are just on the edge of it, your thumbs are too low to be able to reach the buttons comfortably

Love all the otions. I'm not a fan of the bulki BoboVR head thing. Makes it Hugo and it takes a lot of room in case I want to travel with the headset. I'm personally waiting for Kiwi to release a head strap.

I used to have a power box that would hold a lot of power and I used to put it in a back pack and use it to charge my headset while I would play Vr and I would get like 5 hours of battery life

If you already have a M2 strap, just get some M3 adapters printed up, much cheaper than replacing (I have a 3d printer so I just made my own, as for Zenni, the don't do high prescriptions but HonsVR does. got my Q3 lenses in about a week and a half. (only took 3 days to get to California from China)
The Bobo battery, VR headset strap now, the battery life last longer than what it did when it first came out because we have upgrades where we’re not losing so much power
It still blows my mind that the Quest 3's default head strap is so bad. I've been showing friends and not one has yet said anything other than, "meh this isn't very comfortable is it". I'll be buying the BoBo VR M3 the second I can get it. They are desperate for the retention rate for Quest to improve - yet make it so people's default experience is painful and frustrating. The Pico 4, PSVR both have perfectly comfortable default options - why on earth can't Meta prioritise that?

Based on the previous videos about the Soundcore earbuds I went and ordered them from the Anker Soundcore AU store (G'day from Australia BTW Mike). But was a bit bummed to hear that the dongle doesn't support Link Cable passthrough.
Update: I just got the retail package and the onboarding process in the supporting app shows that you can work around the limitation of no data passthrough by just connecting the Anker Soundcore dongle to another USB port on the PC.
So I guess that is technically a solution, even though it is a bit awkward.
Just in case there are other VR fans in Aus, I managed to snag them for A$99.00 at the moment because the current discount they are running on the AU store also lets you use the newsletter sign-up code to apply a further 10% off.
Only putting this here because I know you don't have any AU affiliate links. Otherwise I would've pumped the purchase through there.
Hey mike I don’t know if you’ll see this but would you maybe make another video on maybe 3rd party equipment that would work instead of the rip-off meta stuff. Like if you find another good index strap or another decent charging thing. Also do you still think vr cover is worth and should you upgrade if they release another good facial interface.
Unlike the Quest 2 when using the soundcore earbuds and the OEM Elite Head Strap with Battery, the Quest 3 only says the headset is being charged, not the status of the head strap
I could get the retrofit kit but luckily I have a 3D printer so I can just print adapters which are being printed into existence as I write this.
Kinda want to see Meta offer a more compact option for charging those controller rechargeable batteries on the go. Maybe a case that could do it and the headset? The concept for the stand is alright, but it'd be a pain in the ass to either bring it or a pack of disposable batteries along, as both would consume extra space in your luggage, and with the latter there is the risk of losing the rechargeables if not left in a spot where you're likely to remember them.
Hey Mike, what a great video to show all the current accessories. So on paper, the Quest 3 could be finally a replacement for my aging Original Rift given it's lower price point - except for the whole recharging thing. As a sim-racer, I don't have to worry about charging the Rift, due to it's DisplayPort connection. So my question is simply - is there any way that could involve say a USB HUB and some other device, that could dramatically slow down the drain of the Quest 3's powerdraw. You could imagine how bad it would be to be in a 1-2 hour race, to suddenly have to exit out of the race, due to the Quest 3 loosing all it's charge?
If you use a link cable, that carries both the data signal and keeps the Quest charged
i upgraded to the quest 3 from the OG rift, but i still use the rift for sim racing, i get around 50 mins on a fully charged with the quest 3 when using airlink to link it to steam vr.
which just isn't enough to race with. i tried just charging the quest during a 12 hour race and it sucked, it pulled on the charging port on the quest to much to the point i felt it was going to brake and i had to end the race , if you use vr for anything other then racing id say get it, its a amazing headset with the color passthrough, if you only use vr to race then stick with the rift or upgrade to a HTC VIVE
Thanks so much for that helpful info, Shaun. If definitely sounds like the Quest 3 doesn't suit lengthy Sim Racing. I am hoping the future Valve Deckard might be a possible solution. P.S. One possible solution that I am hearing on some Channels to make the Q3 last longer - was to plug it's link cable DIRECTLY into a USB wall socket plug. Have to see if any Channels do a dedicated video on that subject?

Bobovr headstrap has a chance to crack the sides bits of the headset they fit on, and the power from battery is not strong enough, so I wouldn't get it for quest 3, I did for quest 2 and the left side bit cracked so don't get. Instead get the Syntech headstrap it fits on the sides panels of the headset like the official one so no fear of them cracking like the bobovr. Trust me

How long do the controller rechargeable batteries last? The Anker sound would be a great solution if it passed data too as I plan on using data link for the most part with DCS.
I think meta low amount of play time for the 3 is a great choice to protect our eyes from damage
Hi Mike, question!! soundcore P10 vs internal sound is there a lot of difference I get the sound isolation also do you use the sound core equaliser ? Just that I bought the soundcore and I wasn’t that impressed tbh unless I’m missing something?!? Also the internal sound was louder🤷♂️ I’m on the fence weather to return them or not..
No mention the bobo batteries aren’t working with Q3? I suggest everyone wait for the company to figure out the battery depletion issue before buying them.
