- On this beautiful tropical day we head on over to Combate Beach in Cabo Rojo for the weekend. My father rented a house by the beach. The area has nice clean waters and is a popular destination for the islanders. Do you like the palm trees? It is also very close to the lighthouse.

I’ve been following you for a few years when I’m in New York I watch your videos really enjoyed them but when I’m in Puerto Rico in Cabo Rojo I chill back and try to go fishing because I love the island
I've been watching your videos from the beginning, Great work that you are doing. Last time i was in puerto rico was 1974. I live in san diego am retire thinking about going to live their. My family is from humacao, but i always like that area of puerto rico better.

And I enjoy watching you video everything from this guy I bought me a cheap one and crashed I really wanted to take my fishing line all the way out trying to get a good one that could do that that’s waterproof and I can see what’s in the ocean from land. I remember you telling me seeing the green machine on the road. That was only minutes before I took the picture for this video. Anyway, the water in Combate is always so calm. Now I know why it is so popular with families.

Saludos Jose. My father rented directly from the owner. It's a private person. But there are other rental houses in the are called Cabanas Kitten and can be found via Google.

Good morning Jack. I wanted to go to Gilligan Island last January but couldn't due to the earthquakes a few days before my scheduled trip. I still want to travel there and I have some aerial footage of the area here: ua-cam.com/video/nOzeSUVWPGc/v-deo.html&ab_channel=OviDuran. This was recorded six months before the tragedy of the earthquakes.
About Cabo Rojo, you can also visit the poblado and walk around or visit the beach nearby. I plan to visit the lighthouse again and walk around the water where the rock bridge is. This is an area fantastic for photograph,i if you are into that sort of thing. A little farther north is Rincon with another lighthouse and many great beaches too. So many places to go and so little time. Lol. Let me know how it goes.
Boqueron in Cabo Rojo is what I meant. Also known as the poblado.
Mr Duran, what is your perspective on the current state of the island? I was there the summer before the big hurricane and noticed a lot of abondaned homes, including some that were abandoned halfway through construction throughout the island.. Downtown Isabela also seemed neglected from what I recalled from my earlier trips in the 90s. My wife and I used to visit frequently, but considering what I saw there before the big hurricane, and the long economic depression, I was wondering if there are signs of a comeback for the island from your perspective looking from the inside out on your side. We've made the gulf coast of Florida our new caarribean vacation destination for now but my heart has always been on the west side of the island. I'm from NYC (born & raised) but married my wife in Isabela PR many moons ago. Keep posting your videos and stay blessed. Greeting from our current location of Gettysburg PA!
I live in New Jersey and travel to the island on vacation. As a tourist I focus more on visiting family there and really do not notice any issues that did not exist 30 or 40 years ago. Maybe I will do a video and ask locals those questions.

i'd come to puerto rico in a heartbeat if there were a job for me, and not speaking spanish i can not even read puerto ricos craigslist. do you know of any jobs? seriously...
I don't because I live in Jersey. But jobs have always been scarce on the island. One reason my own family kept going back and forth from the island to New Jersey when I was a kid, in the 60's and 70's. The same issues exist today.
