My home used to be this neighborhood. I frequently walked to the park under the bridge. I've been on the hill a number of times on top of the hill the only rock is shale. Along the sides of the hill there is a crumbly yellow sandstone. The River is officially Arroyo Seco Creek but your very unlikely to hear that name. Arroyo Seco Creek flows into the LA River close to Humboldt Street near the former Lincoln Heights Jail. Years ago I rode the bus over this point coming to or leaving Los Angeles City College The track was originally a Santa Fe track that was torn up in the 1970's It's been put back for Metro trains,good I think.
If Im not wrong, I believe that bridge was built in 2002 when the Metro Gold line was constructed. I believe there used to be an old steel trolly bridge but it was torn down

The Hill he climbed we called Santa fe Hill . The view is a-lot better at night . We used to party up there on the weekends . We crossed the train Bridge . The train bridge used to have one track on it back in the day .
