"Somewhere" by Barbara Streisand is the next song you need to react to!!! It is BEAUTIFUL!!!! Barbara Streisand has the most beautiful voice in music history!!! Her voice is legendary!!!!
I think you would enjoy listening to the long version (11 min) of "No More Tears (Enough Is Enough)", a Disco hit duet with Barbra Streisand and Donna Summer. It was the first duet by two women to top the Hot 100 chart. It is considered one of Streisand's top 10 greatest hits. It's a great song with amazing vocals from Streisand and Summer.
I totally agree with this comment. "No More Tears (Enough is Enough) is an epic duet between two powerhouse vocalists, and Streisand is particularly good on this one. The long version (11 min) is the one to hear!! Streisand also did a solo disco song called "The Main Event" which hit #3 on the pop charts. "The Main Event" is from her movie of the same name. Streisand's vocals on this track are also stellar, hitting the stratosphere more than once.
There is only one Barbara for those of us that grew up listening to her. In her years and career she was so unique, powerful and exquisite. THE WAY WE WERE is another Barbara classic too. You should see that movie w/her and Robert Redford. Awesome, great deep significant movie.
I have been a fan of Barbara for more than 50 years. There is a very obscure album from 1983 called Yentl. It won the 53rd annual Oscar award for best song. That is one of the most underrated of hers that I could think of. the song is called “Papa can you hear me.” I have seen so many reactors react to her other beautiful songs. I have yet to ever hear any reactor react to that song. I hope you could be the first one.
Enjoy your journey into Barbra’s music … i discovered her at 13 and now at 66 I still love her and she remains my number one favorite vocalist … i also love her acting and her as a human being … watch THE WAY WE WERE and listen to the title track !!!!
I'm 70 and remember her on tv as a little girl, in Funny Girl in high school, and in my life I've never heard a voice greater than hers. I'll go out on a limb and say she may be one of the most talented people in human history. All hail Barbra!
For another side of Barbara, you should react to some songs from her only #1 album Guilty. The album was produced by Barry Gibb. The songs were all written by the Barry, Robin, and I believe Maurice wrote on some. The Bee Gees sing backup on some songs. Barry had the biggest influence on the album and sings two duets with her. The duets are What Kind Of Fool and Guilty. UA-cam has a live performance of them singing both songs at an outdoor concert at Barbra’s home. It’s wonderful! Also try Woman In Love, written by Barry.
So glad to finally see the greatest vocalist of the 20th (and 21st) century on your channel! There is no one better than Barbra. Also watch some of her movies! A Star is Born, Yentl, Funny Girl, on a clear that you can see forever. ❤
On your list of Barbra's upcoming reactions - be sure to include her duet with Judy Garland on Judy's TV show in 1962 when Barbra was barely 20yo. It's spectacular.
Barbra is the Best! Wonderful artist. Incredible singer, actress and director of excellent films. She was always one step ahead of the others. Thanks for your great reaction!
The GOAT and EGOT Legend!!!!! Gotta react to Barbra And Celine Dion duet TELL HIM Barbra And Donna Summer duet Enough is Enough. Your mind will be blown and your face will melt. Lol 😊
Outstanding as a solo artist and also as a duet partner. She has recorded so many unforgettable duets over the years - with Celine Dion, Barry Gibb, Josh Groban, Bryan Adams to name just a few of my favorites.
I love Barbara Streisand, I love this song! The best singer/actress on stage ever, ever, ever, is Betty Buckley. UA-cam her on Johnny Carson --absolute live preformance!! Other clips with her in costume doing Memories and other performances. ❤
What a supreme gift Barbra's innate talent is to the World. Have just read her older original biography 'Her Name is Barbra' for the second time. What an astounding life...filled with heartbreaking struggles, stupendous triumphs and singularly driven tenacity of purpose.❤
Barbra and Donna Summer duet..."No More Tears/Enough Is Enough" ( extended version) Barbra and Celine Dion duet.........."Tell Him" ( video) Barbra and Barry Gibb duet..........."Guilty". (video from her concert) Barbra and Joel Diamond duet....."You Don't Send Me Flowers Anymore" Barbra and Louis Armstrong........."Hello Dolly". ( video from the movie) Barbra and Judy Garland duet......"Happy Days/Get Happy". ( video from a the Judy Garland Show )
Such a great reaction. Her voice is like buttah! :) Thanks for doing Funny Girl as well. It's my favorite film. Check out Enough is Enough which is a duet with Donna Summer, another powerhouse vocalist. They sound amazing together. It's a super fun song! Happy Friday!
I’m way older than I wish to admit however; I have seen the Barbra 11 times in the USA and once in Israel. There are no words to describe her immense talent! She is not an approachable person, but that’s ok; she is so tiny that I’m convinced she has a high vulnerability level. Nobody else can sing like her! Any attempt to compare anyone else with the Barbra is impossible to fathom!!!
Hi, I love Barbra Streisand, she is so powerful. Please check out her wonderful duet with Celine Dion "Tell Him", Celine's hero. It was filmed in Barbra's studio.
A more obscure suggestion: Vocalise from the Classical Barbra album. She sings the instrumental melody on syllables. ETA: She does some amazing phrasing in Memory. There's a clip floating around of Barbra singing when she was just 13. Amazing.
Her work with Barry Gibb in 1980 resulted in the chartbuster "Guilty". Produced by Barry, all tracks minus one were written specifically for Barbra by various combinations of the Brothers Gibb. "Woman In Love", and two duets with Barry ("Guilty" and "What Kind Of Fool") all hit the top 10. Other outstanding tracks (though there isn't a bad one) include "Promises" and "Make It Like A Memory". I would suggest studio versions to caputure the full magic that resulted from the marriage of Barry's production and Barbra's vocals.
The mere sound of her voice still gives me chills even after 50+ years of listening to her. There has never been a more beautiful voice and this song, in particular, showcases her vocal range and her control of her voice. Also, notice how long she holds that last note. AMAZING.
Her recording of Laura Nyro's song "Stoney End" is perhaps the most rock oriented hit she's had. It's very up and fast paced if you are looking for something somewhat different from her. I'd also recommend the video of her singing "He Touched Me" from the free concert she gave in Central Park back in 1967 which was filmed as one of her TV specials under the very 60's title "A Happening in Central Park. It's near the time of "Funny Girl" but a much different setting.
The original singer of this on Broadway was Betty Buckley. I love Barbra's cover but you MUST hear Betty's, it's phenomenal. Equally as great as Barbra's. Hello from sunny 🌞🌴
Barbara Stressed has a career that spans six decades she is a golden globe Grammy and Oscar award winner very few singers can have those bragging rights
In the Broadway show this song was sung by the old cat Grizelda, looking back on her "days in the sun." I'm a cat-lover and this song never fails to break my heart. When she sings the line "If you touch me you'll understand what happiness is" I'm sobbing every time. Truly the most beautiful voice I've ever listened to.
This is from the play Cats. Barbra never did the play but on stage a woman who was so incredible brought it to life and shows it in context. If you want to then react to Betty Buckley . The part where the song explodes Betty is rising from the floor and she has such control and power that even in the situation where she is trying to stand up that power belt comes out of her like it was trying to fly out into space.
Love Barbara Streisand, noone has a voice like her, she's always been one of my favorites of the 70's. "Evergreen" is another great song, everything she sings is good. Check out "A Star is Born" lots of great songs she sings in that movie.
This is just a small sampling of the one-of-a-kind vocals from Barbra Streisand. She was barely 20 when she became a phenom at the age of 19 in 1962, on Broadway in "I Can Get It For You Wholesale," where she would meet her first husband, Elliot Gould. Her stardom never stopped growing, and she became one of the best selling recording artists of all time with the most #1 albums, which was just recently eclipsed by Taylor Swift. She still is however, the only artist to ever chart sn album at #1 in SIX consecutive decades. Her voice is simply beyond sublime, and she's never had vocal training... it's so organic and instinctual. She treats a song like it was a three-part play, which is why it touches the senses of a listener. Looking forward to you reacting to more Barbra. Several posters gave you an excellent suggestion... Barbra's duet with Donna Summer on "No More Tears (Enough Is Enough)" [long version] is a must. Barbra's versatilities have no boundaries, having sung just about every genre out there, including, as this song will show, Disco.
I've loved her as far back as I can remember. If you ever get a chance please watch her in A Star Is Born, with Kris Kristopherson the music is mesmerizing, but so is the movie!
This song is from the play "Cats". The Way We Were and others suggested. One of the greatest voices of all time. Thank you for starting my day off great!!
You're an amazing reactor, I love watching your appreciation for music and your deep understanding of it. I grew up on Barbra and it's a sweet memory of childhood and almost tearful longing to return to childhood while my parents played her records in our house. She's one of those voices that throws me back to better times instantly. Incredible voice and talent.
Babs is always the best, this album is what got me into Opera, her singing I Love You Porgy changed me, searched out Porgy and Bess and found the Gershwin Opera Porgy and Bess and wow, just so amazing
Amazing song by an Amazing woman in showbusiness. Barbra voice so controlled and pitched perfectly.. More of Babs thanks for your reaction here. Color me Barbra Album/series has some nice tamed songs that are uplifting..
I saw the original Cats play on video years ago, and the original song was amazing. You really need to hear it. Even better, the duet she did with Donna Summers is perfect for you, Enough is Enough As for Barbara, Barry Gibb wrote and sung her album 'Guilty', which you need to listen to. Hello Dolly from the movie is also a great start. Even better, the song she did with Donna Summers would be perfect for you, Enough is Enough.
An absolute masterpiece! Epic! These performances last hours, days, years, after you hear them. I like her duet with Neil Diamond in "You Don't Bring Me Flowers." Not the Grammy vesion which has a bad audio, but the studio version.
She's like an orchestra. Sometimes she sounds like a trumpet, sometimes an oboe, then a violin or cello. Listen to Somewhere from West Side Story official video.
yes, you really have to watch, "somewhere", so many duets that are all fantastic, neil diamond, the gibb brothers, donna summer, celine, etc... so many songs for you to see of hers now :D looking forward to it. (somewhere is one of my favourite songs of all time). (the broadway album is something else)
Jane Oliver has similar vocal abilities. Her live album showcases why in her heyday she was often compared to Babs. Barbra Streisand "SOMEWHERE" (original video) 🙌
My favorite of hers
A MUST LISTEN AND REACTION.
For sure !! That is what I was going to suggest too !!
Absolutely
Her voice is just stunning. After decades of hearing her, I still cry sometimes too at the beauty!
Her voice is one of the best female voices ever, just a gift from God.
The combination of that supernatural voice and her ability to act the lyrics has never been matched.
The Way We Were (studio version) is my favorite of all.
YOU BET
"Somewhere" by Barbara Streisand is the next song you need to react to!!! It is BEAUTIFUL!!!! Barbara Streisand has the most beautiful voice in music history!!! Her voice is legendary!!!!
She has such a fantastic vocal range and control. "Hello Dolly" , "Stoney End", "Evergreen" are classics.
OMG Evergreen is sublime. And Songbird.
Evergreen is incredible! Barbara is incredible, I owned that album/cassette.
Woman in love is a real banger
Check out the Dana Winner version of Woman in love. I think it is the better version.

@@scottarooni Her best is still "Prisoner" IMO, and everyone needs to hear that one
@@MoMoMyPup10 Yes, "Prisoner" is another epic Streisand performance.
YES, No More Tears!!!!! I was on the dance floors when it came out, and we all went nuts every time it was played!
I read Barbra's bio and she said that Donna passed out while trying to hold a note with Barbra at the end of the song
There is only one Barbara for those of us that grew up listening to her. In her years and career she was so unique, powerful and exquisite. THE WAY WE WERE is another Barbara classic too. You should see that movie w/her and Robert Redford. Awesome, great deep significant movie.

If you haven't done it already, you should either do the duet with Donna Summer "Enough is Enough" or the duet with Barry Gibb
"Guilty"
I'm 70 and remember her on tv as a little girl, in Funny Girl in high school, and in my life I've never heard a voice greater than hers. I'll go out on a limb and say she may be one of the most talented people in human history. All hail Barbra!

She has had 11 number one albums - NOT one!!
You need to see the Grammys video of the surprise duet with Streisand and Neil Diamond... You Don't Bring Me Flowers
Even Barbra can't make me sit through Neil Diamond.

Incomparable voice of Barbra Streisand. I hate her politics but can’t help but think she may be the greatest female popular singer of the modern age.
I like your comment. She is right: Music transcends politics.
Barbra is the Best! Wonderful artist. Incredible singer, actress and director of excellent films. She was always one step ahead of the others. Thanks for your great reaction!

Fun, pop song? Enough is Enough duet with Donna Summer. I prefer the old standards but anything Barbra sings is great. 💜💜💜
Such an iconic sound. Yes, tears to my eyes, as well! Thanks!
I can't even count how many times I've heard her sing this song... and each time, I still tear up.

I have loved Barbara's singing since the early 70s! A WONDERFUL voice!!!! THANK YOU FOR THIS!
I think Barbara Streisand had the best & most beautiful voice in the world! ♥️🌹
Unsurpassed Barbra!❤
This still makes me emotional when I hear it..... Barbara singing Sir Webber.... shivers
You need to see her in What’s up Doc.. and then Yentl
Another beautiful version of Memory is done by Elaine Page, who played the cat in the play. You'll need tissues
yes, for me, Elaine's version is the one.
I watched CATS twice.... Sobbed like a baby.
Thankyou for listening right through to pay her wonderful voice the respect and praise it deserves.
The original singer of this on Broadway was Betty Buckley. I love Barbra's cover but you MUST hear Betty's, it's phenomenal. Equally as great as Barbra's. Hello from sunny 🌞🌴

Divine Barbra!
"My Man" is my favorite song by her
Jane Oliver has similar vocal abilities. Her live album showcases why in her heyday she was often compared to Babs.
Streisand has a purity and accuracy that has earned her accolades especially from vocalists. Lesser known Oliver is all of that but with more character in her voice. She covers a tune called "Seasons" on her live album - written by Grace Slick - and kills it.
I forgot how hauntingly beautiful her voice was.
