Name Boonar comes originaly from croatian word Bunar.Bunar is a walled hole where rainwater or groundwater is collected. When you lean on the well and start screaming, then your voice returns as echo from the well. I am from Croatia an I live about 70km from Dawner Prince original factory!
So, between the boonar or the Strymon volante, the volante has midi and a looper which I just don't need tho it does also have reverb which I personally love to mosh together with delays, the boonar does duh duh duh duh very well as they all do but but useless and headachey for the unfortunate audience on our live gigs, the volante has too much to it to sod around with on the fly ! So must view more demo's regarding the boonar, ( less duh duh duh duh ) and hopefully more spacey type settings which hopefully are in there somewhere, thankyou for your demo. 😁👍
Thanks for the demo friend. Others doing demos on you tube would do well to copy your excellent style. It's not good enough as on many pedal demos just to have endless guitar noodling without explanations. Well done again. Bob Palmer Rowe Multitrackman.
Its a nice echo using a DSP, probably the FV-1. The ‘tape saturation including harmonics are not fully developed. The tail of the echo is very good although kept clean iso following the saturation and zero crossing harmonics/distorions. In general, not spectacular but good.
Great review, but you make it sound like modern mode and trails, or original and bypass, are connected, but they're not- you can have trails or bypass in either mode.
God I hope you still have this account and that you're alive. Those switches. On the pedal and the manual it has the little diagram. But which is up and down? Like, if half the switch is black (on the little picture) with the black bit on the bottom. Does that mean that the last switch is up or down? Or all the others in the opposite. I'm sorry. These diagrams really bug me when they don't specify which direction is which.
That’s a good question. It’s been a while since I had mine so I don’t remember. Did you buy it new? It says factory settings are trails and modern mode so if you haven’t moved them that will tell you. Also while modern vs vintage may be more subtle, it would be obvious if in trails or bypass as the delays will continue or cut off abruptly when turned off.
@@hoover728. I sent Dawner Prince an email. Lol. They actually answered. I'm just about to start a video series and the Boonar will be in the first video . And I just want to do everything for the first time in front of a camera so I just needed to know exactly how to operate it before I have even messed with it. I'm super excited. Ought to be fun.
Ryan Bender what bugs me a little about the Catalinabred is it’s expensive and doesn’t have tap tempo. Also would be great to give you a an option for a preset.

Beautiful pedal, and magnificent exposition. Thanks Mr. Kingman
Tried this at Deluxe the other day, its great!
Dawner Prince should know: #1 I didn't know about this pedal until seeing Brett review it and #2 I'm buying one TODAY because of this video.
One of the few pedals I wish I didn't have to sell. Zoran is a level above, for sure. Cheers. :)
Finally, an awesome demo, thank you!

Little known fact "Boonar" means "buy this" in Croation. Wish it had presets and tap. Bought it and love it!
I’m married to a Croatian. Boonar means “a well.”
@@reasonius That works too! Most of my money goes down a well
Same here. I just threw my money down a well and am waiting to find out if the bouncing makes pleasant sounds on its way down.
Great sounding pedal... surprised... no SHOCKED there were no excursions to Pink-Town.... C'mon... a redux is in order!!
wow what a great unit....better than the alter ego. thx for the great review.

How does this stack up with synths?
Wish it had top jacks. Sounds great though.

Anybody know where I can finance this pedal?
Yes I'm a cheap bastard, but I cannot bring myself to spend less money on something I'm gonna replace for this anyway lol
What delay and fuzz/distortion pedal would you pair up with this for early Pink Floyd sounds?
Fuzz face
Big Muff
Jimi Hendrix Fuzz Face Mini
Fuzz Face and a Coloursound Overdriver clone
Want
el cap or this guy?
Catalinbread Belle Epoch Deluxe and the Boonar!!

Don’t want tap, it is like an original unit!! I have the Catalinbread Belle Epoch Deluxe and it is worth every penny!! Sounds like an original EP-3!!
Ryan Bender how would you compare it to the volante?
Volante is nice with lots of features, but I still like the Catalinbread Belle Epoch Deluxe for the organic sound!!
