Thanks man. I feel like some people might like to just watch that section over and over rather than the breakdown portions. That’s how I like to learn songs myself-just watching and listening.
Love this song; such a huge sound and such a good, solid, simple riff. I was always playing it in Drop-C rather than C Standard. Thanks for the lesson dude! \m/
awesome lesson steve! i learned this song by ear originally and this helped clear up a lot of minor mistakes i may have had! however, i wanted to ask would it sound better to use modulation on the "clean" riff like matt does live? i know he doesn't use it on the record, but i just wanted to know your thoughts!
Got my Rabid Mammal today and it’s epic pedal!! So many amazing tones coming out my Laney GH100L. Perfect for a long weekend entertaining my neighbors. Thanks for content. Luv your channel
Love the videos, just subscribed on Patreon. One request I have is 'Ball of molten lead' by YOB. I've had a hard time learning that song but it rips so hard
Thanks, Russel! I hope you enjoy all of the content on that platform. Make sure to send the Ball of Molten Lead request to www.doesitdoom.com/requests to get it on the list!
Steve, I just became a Patreon member. I just got started in this genre. Born and raised on Grunge. Do you have any recommendations for inexpensive fuzz pedals??? Ive never used fuzz and dont know what the hell I'm looking for. Thanks, dude!!!!
Hey man, definitely. Thanks for becoming a Patron-I hope you enjoy all the content over there. I typically recommend the following, which can be bought for about $150 used total: EHX Green Russian Big Muff Reissue Behringer SF300 Superfuzz ProCo Rat2 Reissue
"that black guitar you are playing with the double cut,it reminds me of those old Yamahas from the late '70's-early-'80's everybody has been buying up on Reverb & E-Bay who play Doom metal. We all know why, because they are incredibly heavy sounding guitars when put to the right equipment. I'm looking at a your guitar thinking "I need to get me one of those".I like freaky colors too...."Throw-up green sparkle"(like a 1974 Duster)."diarrhea Water Brown"(the same color as the primer on the fender of your '77 Nova). Colors like that.Something that is painted the same color as a '70s muscle car.I love guitars painted those&similar colors....But it better knock pictures off the walls when I turn the amp up..lol
Are those active pups? Blasphemous!! :) They may just look active.. everyone yelled at me to never go active because fuzz pedals hate them...and when u dish out the doom u have 2 or more fuzz pedals always..
one of the best songs from The Sciences, a heavily mythical riff and a very melodic solo, I've been waiting for this for a long time!
Hope you dig the lesson, Eli!
Everyday I think of Sleep and hope for their return after this god awful year. Their music is something I live for.
I think they will return some day!
Gotta say love how you always do the demo before the lesson. 👊🏻
Thanks man. I feel like some people might like to just watch that section over and over rather than the breakdown portions. That’s how I like to learn songs myself-just watching and listening.
Does It Doom? Yeah for sure !! Keep it up, the channel kills.
Thank you so much for this. The Botanist is one of my favourite Sleep songs.
Sure thing! Glad you enjoyed the lesson!

It’s a killer guitar for sure. I’m lucky to be it’s keeper. Thanks for watching!
Thank you for doing this. Been waiting for ages for someone to play this so I can learn it myself.
Sure thing, Dude. Hope it works well for ya!
An overlooked chord that I use a lot is the E major shape played on the E,A,D strings up and down the neck. Nice dark sound.
Yesss the almighty Matt Pike! Thanks a lot Steve
Thanks for watching Michele!
Fuck yeah. Love this song.
Great tune! Thanks for watching.
Still love that HIGH ON FIRE had RICHARD PRYOR on a shirt.

Glad to hear it! Hopefully this speeds things up a bit for ya.
Hey man I love what you do! Could you possibly do some of earths early stuff from earth 2. That would be so awesome.
Have thought about it for sure. Send the request to www.doesitdoom.com/requests to get it on the list. Thanks!
Amazing video as always. But I have one question. Do you play in a Band? Always watching your videos and always thought about it.
No. All of my free time goes into producing content like this for the channel.
YESSSSS FINALLY!!!
Glad you dig it!

Great pedal!
@@DoesItDoom definitely!

Would sound great I’m sure!
Love your vids!! Does Fuzz Lord have a pedal close to the rabid mammal?
Thanks man. His closest would probably be his MF-4 (big muff variant) paired with his Doom Screamer (tune screamer variant).
Does It Doom? Hmmm maybe the rabid mammal should be on my list since I don’t have either of those Fuzzlord’s. Although I have 3 FL pedals 😂

Are you still using the Two Notes Captor for this?
This was the Captor running into the Cab M+ (recent firmware update). What did you think of the tone?
@@DoesItDoom Sounds fantastic! Whatever impulse you are using sounds very natural and not all compressed.
@@ryguy9341 I was using the JubilV30 cab with the Dyn 57 for mic A (close mic) and the Dyn Bass 20 for mic B (backed well away from the speaker).

Thank you Janusz! 🤘🏻🤘🏻
I need a trucker hat like that!!
All sold out at the moment, sorry. Will get more again sometime soon.
Is it just me or do you play it slightly faster than the original?
Could be. I’m just playing it to my own count. The TAB is set to the BPM of the record.
@@DoesItDoom Still sounds killer though, will be learning it
Awesome!

Passive pickups. Slightly overwound PAF’s.
