I want neither and both to win. Contrary to popular belief, there is no single best phone, iPhone or otherwise. Best is relative to ones needs. Not which device has the latest hardware. For the majority of people who want a iPhone experience just about any one of the iPhones with home buttons on them will work perfectly fine. I say this because the majority of the iPhone owners I know are still using older iPhones. And I agree. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it. I still use my 6s/6s+ and they do everything I want and need. I have the 7+, 8+, 10, 10s, 10sMax, 11 and 11proMax. SIM card gets a workout going from phone to phone weekly. I consider myself a average user and can say from personal experience with all these devices that where day to day use is concerned there is no real difference between a $300.00 used iPhone and a new $1000.00 iPhone. The average user is better off getting a good used 6s and putting a good case on it. Seriously. It is possible if unlikely that the 6s might get another year of OS updates. Even if it doesn’t. It is normal for iOS to get security updates for a few years after the OS updates stop. This gives iPhones a relative lifespan of 6 to 7 years for updates. Not to mention all the Phones that are still in use that haven’t received any updates for years. Do yourself a favor. Know what you want to do with your phone. Are you ever going to use lidar? No? Don’t buy a 12, in fact don’t buy one anyway. Only apple can fix them, and why pay out the ars for the phone and then pay 3x more to have a broken screen fixed. Do you take lots of pictures, do they need to be studio quality? No and no? You might do well with a 6s+ or 7/+. If you need a better camera go with a 8/+ or SE2. Honestly, unless your some kind of technofile or you just absolutely have to have near studio quality pictures from your phone you probably don’t need more than a 7/+ or 8/+ why spend more if you don’t need to.
My comparison today is between the 1st Generation SE (that I’ve had for 3.5 years) to the iPhone 12 mini (that I unboxed this morning). The mini is super fast and the screen is so nice! Basically the same feel in the hand because the square edge design is similar to both. The mini is slightly larger than the 1gen SE. It’s the perfect upgrade for someone like me that loves small phones.
Got my iPhone mini yesterday morning. From the moment I unboxed it and peeled off the cover, I instantly fell in love with it. It was so much more compact and lighter than my old Lg g7. Easier to use one handed and I can actually reach all corners of my phone without straining my thumb! Although the battery life will be shorter than my larger phone, I’m willing to make that trade off for a more compact form factor. Also I’ve an iPad for movies and gaming so this fits well with my lifestyle. Haven’t had a phone this compact since the iPhone 4
Same for me. Loved my iPhone 4S back then for size and design. Coming now from a XR, I will be updating to the 13 Mini and later this year from an iPad mini original (1) to the new iPad mini, so I think the Mini will be perfect (and enough battery wise). Already excited! ☺️

I use the phone in one hand 90% of the time and need to be able to reach everywhere with my thumb. Technically I can do that on 12, but it feels a bit uncomfortable to reach to corners of the screen and since I do it a lot during the day it’ll result in constant annoyance I think. Mini feels solid in that regard. And it also seems to be a bit more durable than the rest of the lineup due to the smaller size. Glossy back feels so grippy and with boxy design I feel like going caseless. Don’t care about the speakers quality. Battery life is not an issue since I’m having a power bank. Plus I watch videos and play games on my iPad mostly. The worst impression I had was from the pro max. If they made the iPhone SE with the iPhone 12 design, I would prefer it. I like the bezel, home button, the LCD screen is fine, don't need magsafe, don't need wireless charging, just a single camera lens but with better low light, and increase ram to at least 4gb. I hope they keep the SE with home button in the future.
Max, compare max brightness on the phones. I got my mini yesterday and it does not get as bright as my two year old Xs even though they are rated the same amount of nits.
I feel like the notch blends in a lot better on the mini than on the larger iPhones. There isn’t much screen around the notch, only enough to display the battery, signal strength, and time, with no space left. Therefore, the notch somewhat looks like it “belongs”, whereas the other iPhones, it just doesn’t look right.
This is, in my opinion, is the best iPhone ever made. It follows and represents what Steve Jobs wanted from an iPhone. Pocketable, single handed usage and more powerful than anything on the market with top of the line tech. This is the continuation of his philosophy. I love the godamn size so much. Finally a powerful mobile phone which can really be called mobile after ages. I hope Android manufacturers follow this trend and come up with innovative ideas to increase the battery life.
I got the standard 12 which felt ok in the shop. Soon as I put a case on it just felt too big so I returned it. Got the mini on Friday morning... much better. Yes, screen is smaller but I’m already used to that. I can use it one handed and battery is fine.
No. Poor camera review. The photo quality is incredibly similar. The difference you need to look for is low light. That is where the Mini shines. Not worth the price difference at all. The SE has an incredible camera. These reviewers hype things up to the point where many want to buy new phone every year. Not worth it.
@@reevanamin5865 The ultra wide is irrelevant. It’s a feature and doesn’t affect my overall assessment. The ultra wide quality is soft and is subpar at best. Reviewers often gloss this over because they receive review samples from the vendor. The selfie camera is not a deal breaker for me. The SE is good enough by a long shot. Now, the Mini is a better camera obviously, but not worth the additional cost. And like I mentioned, it’s better to zoom into photos to see true quality. That’s the key. Just looking at normal viewing size does very little. Try using a solid monitor and view these photos. You may be surprised at how good/bad they really are.
I have an Iphone 11 and it feels enormous and has always felt enormous and I have big hands. Thanks for this review and looking forward to the Mini 13 which I'll probably switch to from the 11. Giant phones have always looked ridiculous to me ever since I saw the first enormous HTC and outwardly laughed that anyone would carry that around. Now it's commonplace but no less ridiculous looking, to me anyway.
I have the 11 too and its so heavy too, hurts like a bitch to drop it on my face or foot lol and the battery aged like avocado. I am looking to buy a mini too!
I got the new iPhone 12 mini and my daughter asked me if I wanted a mini instead of a large when I come in it because my fingers are an inch shorter than yours it fits perfectly in my hand put fits perfectly in my pocket and I can add the attachment and carry my drivers license in my debit card with my phone and nine times out of 10 I don’t need a purse I did this with my iPhone 7 which I loved and I found that the new 12 mini is about a quarter of an inch shorter than the old seven was the pictures on the iPhone 12 mini are gorgeous and are the only criticism I have I’ve had it about a month now and on the left side
Best comparison review on UA-cam! I’m upgrading from my trusty iPhone 6 that I’ve had for 6 years & was unsure which one of these 3 to upgrade too, I’m definitely getting the iPhone 12 now & in that same blue colour
Did you end up getting the 12? I'm on an iPhone 6 with a shattered screen and half of it doesn't work lol. I'm wondering if I should get the 12 or the SE 2. Any tips?
Did you find the earpiece speaker weak (some distortions) while playing homemade or TikTok videos at a high volume or when speakerphone calls? With no issues with music or HD videos tho
I have a older version of SE Wonder what the different beside the hardware. My SE hardware looks more thick and sharp. The button are way different too and I think better♥ Still going strong!
Listening to music can have a tremendously relaxing effect on our minds and bodies, especially slow, quiet classical music. This type of music can have a beneficial effect on our physiological functions, slowing the pulse and heart rate, lowering blood pressure, and decreasing the levels of stress hormones...
Don’t get me wrong but... For the screens I prefer going with the Se. I just like Apple’s LCD panels and they just have such a natural look to them. Makes everything look pleasing to my eye.
Just got the 12 mini today lovin it got it for the small compact size while being very capable with specs and camera. I do have my fingers crossed for an Apple battery pack case for it though that would make it game over!!! Great content appreciate the thoroughness of the entire lineup if the iPhone 12s!👏🏾

The new iPhone 12 is sold without a charger !? And consumers accept this ??? What the hell is wrong with human brains? Have you been collectively lobotomized?😱😱😱
Yes and no. Sure it has the sharp edges of the old 5s but it is still edge to edge with minimal bezel and no physical button. It’s the physical button and bezel that make the SE look old. I recall when the physical button was dropped and was hesitant, but must say I got quite used to not having it and now prefer the edge to edge.
Max, Again great video. I was just confused when you tested front camera which phone is SE and which 12mini. Audio quality test is amazing clearly shows the difference between 12 and 12mini. Are you going to prepare battery test?
I’ve got an iPhone 12 mini. I’ve had it since October of 2021. The battery is the biggest issue everyone has… If you work a 9-5 job and don’t use your phone much at work, it will easily get you through the day if you start with a full charge. If you’re a heavy user, it’ll get you 7 hours of nonstop gameplay starting at 100% battery charge. If you’re a heavy user then plan on charging it by mid afternoon or in the early part of the evening. I also start my day between 5 - 6am so keep that in mind*** Just checked: 8hr 33 minutes on a full charge and I put it on the charger when it reached 7%.
Got mine 2 days ago.. (pre order). And I am not regretting it.. I had dreamed for an iphone full screen the size of iphone SE (1 Generation), then 12 Mini Came. A dream came true!
I think an intrusive notch kills immersive experience much more than a fixed bezel. You can never not notice that asymmetric notch. After all, we put beautiful paintings into a frame before we display them.
Honestly it’s better then a top and bottom bezel because even without a notch cropping into videos will always cut something out. Having the option to pinch in at all is nice. I do agree the notch has to go but I want to keep the Face ID it holds lol.
I think I should get the 12 mini rather than the SE or the 12 for my first phone for school because I already have the iPad Air (Third Generation) and MacBook Pro 13’ (M1) so I can always switch to those for watching videos/gaming (which I don’t do). Any thoughts?
Awesome comparison, side question, what is the background video that appears when you are comparing the HDR video? showing different locations around the world.
The SE 2 is only £300 brand new in the UK where i am , the 12 mini is too expensive £700 which is near 1000 dollars lol and the 12 standard is like £900 around 1200 dollars
The mini is very nice as long as you don’t want to use a screen protector. There is a weird issue going on with this phone. If you use a screen protector and a case, the screen is unresponsive when the phone is locked. Fingers crossed Apple can fix it with an iOS update.
Currently have a iPhone 7 and only use my phone for UA-cam, Snapchat, Instagram and reddit. No Games... should I get the SE or the iPhone 12 or 12 mini
Actually i dont have much interest in new phone but damn. That blue iphone 12 mini sold my soul because i like to have a mini phone with my fav blue colour. After all it have night mode and 5g. Maybe its time to upgrade from 8 plus to blue 12 mini. 🥰
Just got mine and I love it I originally had a xr and tbh the size didn’t bother me on both phones but the mini feels so nice in the pocket and you can secure it firmly with one hand I love it
se2020 is the most underrated phone of 2020 , getting all the hate because of of small battery, but hardly people know that se battery performs much better than android phones of 3000mah battery , and I can buy almost 3 iPhone se in the price of 12mini
I have the mini. I absolutely love the size. I wanted this since the iPhone too the next size jump after the 5s/SE. The battery life really is going to be an issue with a heavy user though.
Did you find the earpiece speaker weak (some distortions) while playing homemade or TikTok videos at a high volume or when speakerphone calls? With no issues with music or HD videos tho
Watching this on my iPhone SE 2020 and I’ve got 20% battery. Battery life dies super quick and I’m thinking about going with the iPhone 12 for a better battery option
Recently bought iPhone 12 and this is my first iPhone mobile. I didn’t like the display, they told 6.1 inch but not actually it is. If you see the display is 6.1 inch but when you run video or anything it’s too small bcz of all side black wall. It’s look like I am using very old Nokia phone.
I got the SE. let me tell you it makes me nostalgic fir my iPhone 4. Tell you something? The mini and the SE have really tiny keyboards and ridiculous spell check. Get the 12. I’m sorry I didn’t. It feels like a toy and it works like one. It burns through battery like no phone I’ve ever had.
its a much better deal in my opinion , 2 cameras and an Oled display dont equal twice the price as Apple thinks it does as the SE is only £300 in the UK where i am and the 12 Mini is £700 so £400 more for a smaller phone not worth it
I am upgrading from a 6s, I am torn between an iphone mini and an iphone 11 pro. I do not wana go for a big phone and battery is very important to me. Oh and i do not care about 5g ... Which is the better phone ?

There isn’t much screen around the notch, only enough to display the battery, signal strength, and time, with no space left. Therefore, the notch somewhat looks like it “belongs”, whereas the other iPhones, it just doesn’t look right.
I love how all of your videos actually cover the things I care about when reviewing the iPhone 12 series.
Yes. iPhone mini is perfect. I love mine.
Except it is not top of the line tech
No 120Hz refresh rate no party
Mini sounded way clearer to me. SE sounded like it was muffled
I think the SE sounded richer.
I got the standard 12 which felt ok in the shop. Soon as I put a case on it just felt too big so I returned it. Got the mini on Friday morning... much better. Yes, screen is smaller but I’m already used to that. I can use it one handed and battery is fine.
I decided I am returning my 12 for the mini man the same thing happened to me man my freakin hand hurts from these big phones...Mini time!
Size matters. Typing this on my new mini. Love it, long time coming.
How's it's battery
Same here
Mini rocks..battery is good
@@rishitasondager5872 not sure. Haven’t had it a full day yet. One thing for sure, I need to relearn how to use a phone with one hand.
@@rishitasondager5872 8hrs and 30 mins you welcome
@@Youssef-lp7on no it isnt, battery life is max 7 hours. dont spew information if it’s incorrect
Apple should just make the phone slightly thicker and to compensate, add bigger battery to it. Win win.
Very good point
No. Poor camera review. The photo quality is incredibly similar. The difference you need to look for is low light. That is where the Mini shines. Not worth the price difference at all. The SE has an incredible camera.
These reviewers hype things up to the point where many want to buy new phone every year. Not worth it.
You've not taken the ultrawide and selfie camera into account.
3:59 Ladies you know the procedures
I have an Iphone 11 and it feels enormous and has always felt enormous and I have big hands. Thanks for this review and looking forward to the Mini 13 which I'll probably switch to from the 11. Giant phones have always looked ridiculous to me ever since I saw the first enormous HTC and outwardly laughed that anyone would carry that around. Now it's commonplace but no less ridiculous looking, to me anyway.
I have the 11 too and its so heavy too, hurts like a bitch to drop it on my face or foot lol and the battery aged like avocado. I am looking to buy a mini too!
Not complaining about the bezels on my iPhone 12 Pro, but why not give all the iPhones the same bezels as the 12 Mini?
Cause money
This is very informative video. Even little details included. Thanks So Much.
Just bought iphone 12 mini today. After about 6 years using iphone 6. Almost same size but much bigger performance
Do you still have it
I can’t wait until the iPhone 12 mini becomes the new iPhone SE!
The price with match the size lol
by the time it becomes the new iphone se every phone will completely outclass it
Thanks! So many detail in this video! You’re very conscientious!
Well done video... I love my mini as I’m a photographer, but I think for many average users, the SE is the best value...
Excellent review good detail in general most reviewers just bang on about the camera
Any tips?
Nice video! You actually deserve more subs and views.
I went with the Mini. For gaming and "immersive" experiences I use an iPad so the small size of the Mini is a plus.
Yes!! Having the 12 mini and an iPad is a way to go.
Watching this UA-cam video on my IPhone 12 mini!!! Love it!!😎💪🏽
What on screen time do You have ? :) thinking of buying one (:

Yes, it’s about the best I have seen so far
Loving my mini. I am able to get through my day on the battery
Did you find the earpiece speaker weak (some distortions) while playing homemade or TikTok videos at a high volume or when speakerphone calls? With no issues with music or HD videos tho
I am getting the mini on Xmas! Thanks for ur reviews!
SE 2020 gang where yall at?
I have a older version of SE Wonder what the different beside the hardware. My SE hardware looks more thick and sharp. The button are way different too and I think better♥ Still going strong!
After 6 years iPhone 6 I’ll go for iPhone 12, skipped 6 generations 😂😂
smart move
Listening to music can have a tremendously relaxing effect on our minds and bodies, especially slow, quiet classical music. This type of music can have a beneficial effect on our physiological functions, slowing the pulse and heart rate, lowering blood pressure, and decreasing the levels of stress hormones...
Thanks!
Don’t get me wrong but... For the screens I prefer going with the Se. I just like Apple’s LCD panels and they just have such a natural look to them. Makes everything look pleasing to my eye.
Is the 12 mini much more comfortable in the hand than the 12, or only in comparison with the 12 Pro Max? Thanks
Did you find the earpiece speaker weak (some distortions) while playing homemade or TikTok videos at a high volume or when speakerphone calls? With no issues with music or HD videos tho
Using 6s Plus and 12 mini. And it’s amazing.
Thank you for this super informative video! The best comparison ever!
The new iPhone 12 is sold without a charger !? And consumers accept this ??? What the hell is wrong with human brains? Have you been collectively lobotomized?😱😱😱
I totally agree with you on this!!
It's funny that everyone is hittinh on the SE for it's older design but then the iphone 12s fall back to an even older design.
But what will be size of 16:9 video on iPhone 12 mini? will it be smaller than SE?
SE screen is 0,5mm wider.
SE2 rocks
I also start my day between 5 - 6am so keep that in mind***
Just checked: 8hr 33 minutes on a full charge and I put it on the charger when it reached 7%.
The 12 mini is my favorite 🔥
Can’t wait to get mine❗️
which color are you getting it in :0
@@YukariAkiyama the blue
I'm getting green or orange
Got mine 2 days ago.. (pre order).
And I am not regretting it..
I had dreamed for an iphone full screen the size of iphone SE (1 Generation), then 12 Mini Came.
A dream came true!
U have great videos! Saw all ur iphone 12 content! Thanks
Nice Video. But the 11 also has 4GB of RAM.
Thanks for this! I was looking for a video like this! Very helpful.
Comparison I've been looking for! Thanks!!
16:35 The iPhone 11 had 4gb ram just like the 11 Pro and the New 12 and not 3 gb.
Yeah it has 4 apparently
The SE 2 is only £300 brand new in the UK where i am , the 12 mini is too expensive £700 which is near 1000 dollars lol and the 12 standard is like £900 around 1200 dollars
Today is chewsdaie.
aren't you bri ish?
The mini is very nice as long as you don’t want to use a screen protector. There is a weird issue going on with this phone. If you use a screen protector and a case, the screen is unresponsive when the phone is locked. Fingers crossed Apple can fix it with an iOS update.
I’ve had it almost a couple days no issues here
I can’t wait to upgrade from 2016 se to the mini!!!!
4:25 12 mini red reminds me of the pink on the 5c and the salmon/coral on the XR
Currently have a iPhone 7 and only use my phone for UA-cam, Snapchat, Instagram and reddit. No Games... should I get the SE or the iPhone 12 or 12 mini
iPhone SE for budget, i'm not a gamer on mobile and take few photos only (seems good enough in my use cases)
iPhone 12 mini don’t need be cheaper than iPhone SE2020 and iPhone XR
Actually i dont have much interest in new phone but damn.
That blue iphone 12 mini sold my soul because i like to have a mini phone with my fav blue colour.
After all it have night mode and 5g.
Maybe its time to upgrade from 8 plus to blue 12 mini. 🥰
You should. You would straightaway enjoy how the size fits perfectly in your hands. That is something that I miss from my old iPhone 8
@@gahlol7069 yeah but it will be long time to get inside my country. Maybe about Feb next year.
It will be good decision. I am also switching to mini from xs.
Just got mine and I love it I originally had a xr and tbh the size didn’t bother me on both phones but the mini feels so nice in the pocket and you can secure it firmly with one hand I love it
Good review. The speaker, video, & gaming points made me decide to get the 12 instead of the mini.
se2020 is the most underrated phone of 2020 , getting all the hate because of of small battery, but hardly people know that se battery performs much better than android phones of 3000mah battery , and I can buy almost 3 iPhone se in the price of 12mini
this is really helpful
The se 2nd gen actually got its speakers upgraded via software but if the 12 mini was compared to the 7 or to the 8 yeah it would smoke them
Do you think that apple will make the new SE with flat sides and MagSafe?
I have the mini in black with 256 GB, and for my age (14) its sooo good like i already have an android and a iPad so i don't need an bigger screen
I have a 12 mini in green I should buy me an iPad
Watching on iPhone 12 mini🥰 it’s a great phone for me! Thank u mum💗
Which has better battery life? iPhone Se, IPhone 8 or iPhone 12 mini
12 mini
I have the mini.
I absolutely love the size. I wanted this since the iPhone too the next size jump after the 5s/SE.
The battery life really is going to be an issue with a heavy user though.
Did you find the earpiece speaker weak (some distortions) while playing homemade or TikTok videos at a high volume or when speakerphone calls? With no issues with music or HD videos tho
the red of the iphone 12 kinda looks like the coral on the xr
Watching this on my iPhone SE 2020 and I’ve got 20% battery. Battery life dies super quick and I’m thinking about going with the iPhone 12 for a better battery option
Awesome video!!! Thank you!
I am still using iphone 8plus ☺️ i think i go for the 12mini
Best comparison I saw
Good info👌
thief steals your iPhone 12 with wallet included * Thief: great double prize
00:50 thats what she said.
Waiting for this video for so long!
Is the width of the screen on the SE bigger than on the mini? The display on mini seem to look taller, but appears more narrow.
Yes!
You can calculate it witdth resolution x density = actual size in inches. If you want in cm then multiply by 2.54.
the iPhone SE's product red looks way better than the product red on the iPhone 12 mini
its a much better deal in my opinion , 2 cameras and an Oled display dont equal twice the price as Apple thinks it does as the SE is only £300 in the UK where i am and the 12 Mini is £700 so £400 more for a smaller phone not worth it
I am upgrading from a 6s, I am torn between an iphone mini and an iphone 11 pro. I do not wana go for a big phone and battery is very important to me. Oh and i do not care about 5g ... Which is the better phone ?
The 12 mini is 100% better if you can't find a 11 pro on sale brand new unlocked for less than the mini
