    If you’ve never used an air filter these are great. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkx_dppjvjF8BYEmPSDTcgCUdRsgWYLXNHN I ended up with three after starting out with one. The noise level depends on the 1-3 settings with how hard you want the machine to work. You can also upgrade the filters and get one better for pet hair and smells which is a must have in my home. I noticed the air seemed lighter and easier to breathe when running the machine for the first time. Works great every time. Highly recommended!

    Hello Phillips, this video seems to contradict the User Manual regarding cleaning the Wick/Humidification Filter. The User Manual says: "Soak the humidification filter in cleansing agent (e.g. diluted citric acid solution) for one hour." However, the video says to soak it in cold water for one hour. Can you please clarify? And, please do not direct me to Facebook or Twitter--I don't use either. Thanks!

      Thanks for clarifying, Annika. Indeed, in cleaning your humidification filter, you need to soak it in cleansing agent (e.g. diluted citric acid solution) for one hour. It is advisable to use mid or acid cleanser (24g citric acid with 4L water). Hope this clarifies your question! :)

      @@annikanachname5462 I've been wondering the same. I read somewhere on Philips website that you can use 50/50 water and vinegar to soak it in so maybe that could be a mild cleanser but I don't know why that's not mentioned where they suggest citric acid.

  • @Davethreshold
    @Davethreshold 3 роки тому +8

    LOL soaking the wick in cold water is USELESS. You need to get the calcification off of it. Use 50/50 vinegar and water. ASLO when you add more water, flip the filter over from top to bottom every time.

    Depending on the hardness of your tap water, the paper wick will get so disgustingly dirty, and they are expensive. If you use it only in winter and stored it away during summer, take it out again in the fall and reuse the wick, forget it, it will look so disgustingly crusty you want to throw it out and buy a replacement wick. This kind of humidifier is just not practical.

    I don't get the point of just soaking the wick in cold water.
    I use filtered (Brita Filter) water for the humidifier and after a week there's still a ton of calcification on the wick, which decreases the efficiency of the device and therefore the calcification has to be removed at least weekly.
    The calcification blocks/ masks also the level indicator. Sooner or later it will be impossible to see the water level inside the humidifier tank. How to avoid/ clean?

They collect the dirt over the time and it becomes really gross and there’s no way users can clean it because top unit is all screwed in with cables inside. I don’t want any compensation. Just accept it and change your design so people don’t have this problem anymore.

    Hi Philips,
    I just bought it like 30 mins ago, and I am not sure how effective this is, I dont understand how can it make humidity level rise, when I am checking the mechanism its just a fan with two level control on top of a water? I dont think it can make instant humidification because its like depending in water evaporation until it dries.
    this might sound stupid, its like you put a water bucket behind a desk fan. I will let it run for the whole night til morning and see if the water really depletes.
    Thank you.
