You have to change the costly filters regularly and there’s no way to clean the grubby dirt inside the top unit because it’s all screwed in. I will never use it again

@@AllenMacCannell I'd say every 2-3 months. I still have this humidifier and don't use it anymore. I contacted Philips to ask how to clean the grubby dirt inside the top unit and they said I have to take it to the customer centre and it won't be free lol So you have to pay to clean this machine every time.. I did so much research about humidifiers after this one and concluded that the best way is to fine the easy to clean ultrasonic one that doesn't need filter. Use with boiled and cooled water and clean it every day with a brush..

Some asian countries (like South Korea's Samsung and LG or Japanese brands) have ultrasonic ones with a lid on top so you can clean it easily but couldn't find it in Australia... Now I use Vicks humidifier and I'm very happy with it. I always use it with boiled and cooled water so it's safe and clean... To clean it inside, I just put my hand inside and clean with a brush. But it might be tricky if you have big hands...

@@skan8 I liked the Vicks humidifier. But i wouldn't use it with tap water unless your tap water is really clean... Humidifiers can actually spread mouldy germs to air if you don't clean it regularly...

i just cleaned the top part by disassembling it, its by no means easy but its doable if you have a spare half hour
