Great report. I also agree with you in that I wish the United Express E-175 aircraft operated by Skywest and also Republic had the same comfortable seats that are found on this Republic E-170. Although UA's 175s are newer and a bit larger than the 170s, the seats are VERY uncomfortable....like sitting on a park bench.
Five years ago, I flew on an Embraer E-175 (a stretched variant of the E-170 with more seats) with Alaska Horizon. It’s the only flight I’ve ever been on, so I don’t have anything else to compare it to. The aisles seemed a bit narrow to me, but even in economy seats over the wing (actually right about where you were sitting), the seats were reasonably comfortable. I’ve been in a car with smaller seats.
Welcome onboard my regional jet. This is one of my Republic Airways E-170s. I dispatch them every day. It is one of the most automated, sophisticated and reliable aircraft on the market today. Oh and yes, it’s a regional jet. It is also the most comfortable. Be it a 35 min hop from IND to ORD or a four hour flight from EWR to DFW. It’s a great way to fly! We proudly fly for United, American and Delta and we are the largest global operator of the E-jet. We look forward to having you onboard in the future.
The plane that was infamous for United’s overbooked flight incident.
Awwww. I used to work for Shuttle America. I've worked that plane.
