Monsanto, the inventors of the "Silent Forest"! Truly, you should look this new term up. They've used this term for their genetically modified orchards. Its perfect and beautiful, no bugs, no buzzing, no birds, no life at all except for the beautiful GMO trees. Its really a scientific wonder, to grow a tree that nothing will eat fruit from except humans. Perfect.

It’s my favorite new logical fallacy, the “Appeal to Monsanto”, the world’s largest producer of biotech agriculture seeds. This is the logic that compels many anti-GMO activists to reply to any argument in support of biotech crops with “So you love Monsanto?”
It’s so wonderful because it combines many other logical fallacies into one, and is thus a great time saver. For example:

Have you seen the latest commercial by the real Monsanto on TV? I saw it 2 days ago. Apparently they want to "have a conversation" to set the record straight and tell us how they really help farmers and have our best at heart. Yeah, I think a lot of us need to join that conversation!

its bad that most people are science illiterate and will just eat this up. every crop grown is genetically modified. Monsanto just faster and more efficiently and cleaner.

Ximena Siano prove it. humans have been genetically modifying crops since we have been growing crops. they just did it the slow way by cross breading plants over generations to get the same type of results that doing in a lab get but a lab does it faster cheaper and with less failure since it doesnt take years and years to get the results of slowly crossbreading crops.

One way to force a novel DNA sequence into a target genome is to coat it onto gold pellets and shoot it at a culture of host cells with a "gene gun." Another way is to perforate the cell membranes with chemicals or electricity, or to use bacteria to carry the sequence and infect the cells. In order to move, integrate and express the desired gene, the inserted DNA sequence must often include genetic segments modified from viruses and bacteria. The cells which survive the insertion process are screened for the expression of the desired sequences and grown out in an artificial culture using hormones. Those tissues/organisms which appear to function properly are then tested for commercial application. As compared to traditional methods of cross-pollination or animal pairing, genetic engineering is clearly a distinct process.
Martin Dagoberto yes how its done in a lab is different than the traditional methods but they get the same or better results. thats why they are doing it in a lab so it doesnt take so long to get the desirable results. either way is not natural since its human putting selective pressures on the outcome of evolution.
***** Totally false, selective breeding is the traditional way of creating new seeds but only includes plant matter from the same family of plants!! Genetic Engineering can put the DNA of a frog for example, into your Corn seed this is totally different and unnatural!! We don't know what the impacts will be, and are already seeing the health problems of BT Corn in humans!!

GMOs can be legally sold as organic. Organic only refers to how it's grown and what is used while it's grown, nothing to do with the seed stock...
***** The regulations also specify what you can or can't use in processing "Organic" food. And you can still use all manner of synthetic and non-organic materials and fertilizers, herbicides and pesticides, pursuant to federal code §205.601 through §205.606. And those materials CAN be GMO. So that's funny too.

Also, does anyone have any idea how much food will be required to feed the coming generations? The fact of the matter is that GMOs outproduce socalled "natural" crops hands-down, and they do it with less nitrogen and pesticides. That means less runoff and overspray. If we plant only natural seed, we will need to plant far more acres of it. Where are those extra acres going to come from?... the rainforests?... other virgin land?

In the very first book of the bible, God tells us His intention with plant food is not money motivated, but that His nutritious food, designed for life on the planet, has free product given inside each one through the seeds. Monsanto takes God's free seeds away to create a monopoly money system.

Monsanto makes GMOs look bad but in reality, there are pros and cons to it. We need to look at both sides of the story to get the whole picture. There's a reason why we have GMOs. When you're a farmer and you worked hard from sunrise to sunset to prepare the ground, plant your seeds, water the plants, and keep weeds from taking over, its really sucks when the crops get wiped out, just like that. GMOs are just ways to mix DNA into the seeds that will protect them from getting wiped out. It takes a lot of effort, time and water to grow a field of crops knowing they might just all die. Anyway, there are definitely a lot of issues with this and we should look to solve the issues instead of just antagonizing GMOs.
Also, it can protect from diseases that are harmful to humans. Who doesn't want to make food safer?

Every argument I've seen against Monsanto has been full of falsehoods and downright lies. Every single one. Sadly, this one is no different, although it is excused for being a parody, of course.
If there are any accurate/valid arguments against Monsanto or GMO's in general, I'd like to hear them.

I use Bt (Bacillus thuringiensis) on my tomatoes. It's organic. It's safe for humans. It is safe for pets It won't even harm "beneficial" insects. It is the perfect pesticide. It targets one pest and one pest only. For decades, it has been heralded by the organic community as the greatest thing since compost.
Now that Monsanto has taken the gene that produces the active ingredient from the bacteria that creates it and placed it in corn, suddenly, it causes cancer. But when it comes in a plastic bottle, it's a Godsend. When I started reading about the dangers of Monsanto Bt is when I actually started researching the rest of the claims and found every single one of them to be bunk.
Recently I read about Monsanto suing a farmer somewhere. When I looked up the case, I found that it was actually the farmer suing Monsanto.
There was another case where Monsanto sued a farmer for growing "Round-Up Ready" canola. Turns out that this farmer had sprayed his entire field with Round-Up and saved the seeds from the plants that survived. In other words, he did it intentionally. (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Percy_Schmeiser)
Except, their crops dont leave viable seeds, intentionally, so how could that possibly be the case.

I constantly see people say "Bt makes insect stomachs explode so how can it be safe for us?!" yet anyone with the capability to do unbiased research should know that it only effects insects because of their alkaline based stomachs. 95% of the arguments against GMOs are from people who read some bullshit on Natural News and believe anything they read on the internet.

Ok...didn't really answer my question, but, let me ask you this. Why are cigarettes and alcohol legal to ingest? Both cigarettes and alcohol have been known to cause illness, in which kills us, no? The FDA, Monsanto, agribusiness, biotech... whoever, approve these things. They approve foods that cause harm, and produce the medicine that are supposedly going to make us better, pfff... We're better off with the homemade bread and watery soup, than this "luxury" food.
I do see and its a good start, but, Smoking should be banned altogether, along with alcohol. Deaths by emphysema, cancer, DUI, alcohol poisoning, just makes you wonder about the people governing our society...Why legalise something that contains over 4000 carcinogens and, literally, kills humans? Why legalise something, that if consumed enough of, will cause humans to fight and kill other humans? it all boils down to money in the end, but you probably already knew that. Also, the whole conspiracy of depopulation, paired with this, just makes sense. Also, why is Monsanto so secretive about what's going in to their Products, why are the people, who ingest this shit, not allowed to be aware?
