I've been in a mix of Canon and Sony for quite a while now (70D in 2013, a6300 in 2017) and now pondering upgrading into full-frame. Most of my glass is EF so would adapt them anyways, but the more I search around I consider going with the R6, even though I'd lose a little in the megapixel department. The main headache I've had with Sony was related to color never feeling quite there and having a greening tone in the blues and a magenta one in the reds, which I still feel is present :c

Could you please tell how much storage takes (how much weights), for example, 5 sec. video 1080 24/120 fps on R6 and 5 sec. video 1080 24/120 fps on a7iii ? Or maybe you can share some comparison clips so I could download it. 🫶
I really focus on videography , especially in low-light , is it better to take the a7iii ?

For video and Birding, which one would you choose: R6, A7iii or the Z6ii for your personal use?
I would be inclined to say R6 (best AF out of the three) but there is the overheating issue for video.
I have not tested the Z6 II yet, but based on my Z6 experience, it should deliver for both video and wildlife, and its AF should be better than the A7 III. You need DSLR lenses for birding though.
The Sony's video codec starts to be a bit old now, although it still delivers excellent quality, and there are more native lenses to choose from.
very informative,. i wanted to know if r6 overheats at 1080p? i normally shoot at 1080p for my wedding events,. 99% i shoot 1080p,. 1% i shoot 4K only for details,. like ring shots,. so that i can crop in further,.
it doesn't lock out of 1080p modes at all for overheating it only locks out of 4k
I did some test in 1080p and it doesn't seem to be a problem, at least indoor with a room temperature of 19/20˚C.
Am from India sir. Here canon r6 body alone costs 2L. I saw other countries with 24-105mm lens price is 2L . How do i import it?

Ok. Back to your original question then. I find the Canon easier to use, and it has extra specs for video such as 4K 50/60p and 10-bit 4:2:2 internal recording which gives you better image quality. The thing to be aware with the Canon is overheating. If you need to record quick shots, it's good, but long hours of work could be a problem.
For stills, they both are really good. Also consider that there are more lenses for the Sony E-mount system, including third party brands like Sigma or Tamron.

R6 has insanely steady IBIS. There are demos of that on youtube. As for 1080p, they are so close, it will come down to lenses.

@@MathieuGasquetMirrorLessons So it's not pointing directly at this composition? As for me, I'm just seeing some noise/pixel behavior that I can't decide exactly for which the reason. Would you be able to do that for me? As I said, would be more than happy to pay you for your time.
Correct, it's not direct light. Do you want the same composition but with direct light?
Have you tried to play with the noise reduction setting? I found it can have quite the impact on noise.
I think it will be a long time before we see an a7IV after this, as Sony needs time to catch up. Can they get 8 stops of IBIS with that small mount?
Not sure about mount and IBIS, perhaps it is a limitation. On another note, the results I've seen from the A7S III or A7C using the gyros sensor data and Sony's Catalyst software are quite impressive for video. Hopefully the A7 IV will have the same capabilities.

I think the A7S III demonstrates that they aren't too far behind, but their downsampling may be difficult in 4K60p
As a 5dm4 user, canon has really caught up and packed great features in this r6 but disappointed with this overheating worries (video) as it can render the unit useless in realtime pro work. I might get a rental to see if it suits my workflow. Thanks for this comprehensive comparative video

A7 iii Does have eye detect with the firmware updates
There is no eye AF for video on the A7 III. Perhaps you're confusing it with the Eye AF for animals update, which works for stills only.

The overheating is a real problem on the R6. You just cannot rely on it for professional video work.
