UNDERRATED event
That's an understatement.
Loving the women's racing, the classics were great and the vuelta being brought forward to May is fantastic. The racing is much more interesting than the majority of the men's atm.
we have just witnessed the human side of DV by comforting her fallen teammate. snappy salute to her. a well deserved win too. 2023 is her year.
Look like it so far, but TDF and World later! we will see!
DV you are world class!!
She seems to be unstoppable lately.
Big fan of AVV here, but I always cringe when I see her out of the saddle front wheel swerving. I can't imagine how much more would she win if she kept a straight line. This finish was very noticeable next to DV.
Looking forward to the showdown tomorrow.
Vollering very strong !
Are you fabio fan?
@@user-ge2bh4zd5s Jakobsen ?
Haha
😭Heartwarming gesture from DV at the end.
Bauernfeind is incredible🤩
An event like this and only a week long, and stages so short... Women deserve more LOT MORE.
UCI is full of money and they can't organize a better event. Shame on all of them
This Vuelta is very difficult, Movistar very fort, and the fight with Sd worx is be epic, beatiful in Spain
I can not believe the Speed of these women …….Bravo ❤
Super dangerous speed . Crazy behavior
In case you are wondering like I did: Niamh Fisher-Black crashed (see earlier in the video) and finished 1:30 back. She is now 14th and out of contention for the GC.
super Demi, congratulation!
Thanks
Let the rider be upset and have her moment without shoving the camera in her face. That was a heartbreaking moment for her.
Emotions are parts of sports, no shame for her in shedding a few tears and likewise no problem sharing it with the world.
And just maybe the guy that decided to screw her over after her crash sees it and understands what stupid decisions can mean to an athlete.
I think the idea here was to show DV consoling her teammate and to show her emotions. I praise both of them for this class act.
Vollering is a on amazing form. It will be a battle tomorrow!
These ladies are hard as nails
Terbaik lah Marianne Vos
AVV's TdF title defence not looking good, as Vollering's on top form.
"Barrage" is a technique used by official by ordering team cars out of the gap between the peloton and a chasing group/rider, so the chasers can't take advantage of the cars' draft to bridge up.
Rider 103 clipped Fisher-Black as she was grabbing that bottle???
Spanish champion Mavi García moved a whole road lane to her left, while they were passing that bottle. With her back wheel she ran into Niamh's front wheel. García caused that crash. Those moves are very dangerous, and often lead to crashes. That's what a jury should adress. I don't understand what happened next. Was the other rider that fell down, allowed to use the cars to get back? And why would you pull the cars away when a crash happened?
Just hilarious how the narrator pronounces "Penaz Lanas" :D
Unforced error by Team SD Worx.
No that was an unforced error by Fisher-Black not the team. She did this to herself. The team had nothing to do with it. Unfortunately these things can happen.
I'm pretty sure it was the Liv rider (number 103) that caused the incident by crossing over Fisher-Black's front wheel...
Crashing while passing a bottle, Van Vleuten's comedic attempts at grabbing bottles from the side of the road etc. These women have great W/KG but many are technically useless. They need to either ride MTB more or spend time on specific skills training because like many roadies, they can pedal but they can't ride a bike for shit.
Van Vleuten spends more time training than some of the men...
These incidents can happen to anyone. It wasn't that these were the continental riders either. It's just bad luck and way too circumstantial to insult an entire women's peleton.
@@Tibovl You are correct, but AvV came into the sport pretty late and is not great technically, she also struggles on descents sometimes. But about bottles, everyone seems to forget that it's more difficult for women because their hands are smaller compared to men
@@Tibovl why does it have to be an insult? why can't it be constructive criticism? i always felt it to be paramount to have mtb or cyclocross as a foundation to road racing regardless of ur gender. how is van vleuten spending more time on road bike than man going to improve her technical skills or has anything to do with what he is saying? yes AVV rides hard but yet her handling is still dogshit. she cant even do no handed celebration while crossing the line. not every statement is an attack. here, zwift finalists. newcomers to road racing. men race in more dangerous condition but no crash. women less precarious condition and yet multiple amateur level crashes.
ua-cam.com/video/8pN0IMlbqfY/v-deo.html
where is he even insulting women's peleton other than in ur head?
What a shite, conceited thing to say. Petty, useless commentary from a troll spectator on UA-cam.
I'm a dude, started cycling early by MTB at a fairly good level in youth categories. When transitioning on the road, I never got a hang on mastering the technique of catching a bidon from people on the side on a flat fast road. Especially because I had inexperienced people handing them over, and it's the same in the women's peloton because there is less staff, etc... It has nothing to do with handling skills in general in the peloton. Yes, we have seen some stupid mistakes, but we see the same in the men's monuments. The ladies a are fighting hard on a hard race and put a show as worthy of highlights as the men's Vuelta which is boring AF on most of the stages.
