The world needs good, strong families, led by good strong fathers and mothers. Covenant makers and covent keepers. United in the work of the almighty.
Technological entertainment is hardly an issue just for boys and men. Girls and young women are also whittling away their lives on social media, shopping, binge watching streaming services, and gaming as well, albeit more mobile gaming, with the rise of phone-based childhood and social media having a much more severe impact on young girls. We all need to do better, especially as parents.
I’d agree! I just had my third baby 6 months ago and I decided since then to quit both Facebook and instagram and I can honestly say I feel so much better! I do t compare myself to other women as much, and I overall feel like I’m a better mom to my three kids and a better wife to my husband. Social media is such a weird and unnatural thing and brings more anxiety than anything else
President Nelson was addressing the General Priesthood Session then so that had the men attending and thats why he addressed it to the brethren, generally. But yes, much applies universally to bettering ourselves.
@@alisarichardsramirezmusic2233 Why has he not addressed the same concerns in Women's conferences? He's only suggested a 7 day media fast. Nothing like breaking away from the phone to avoid FB, instagram and other social media sink holes. The 7 day media fast did nothing other then make a feel good facebook post for most women. Nothing has changed. Many women give more attention to social media then to their spouses
@BigDrew67 are you aware who he was speaking to giving that talk and when? Are you criticizing what he said towards the priesthood holders becoming better? I don't understand the criticism unless you do not espouse a desire to do so as he suggested. Speaking truth can be hard for those who criticize against it and complain about it finding fault. I found his boldness with kindness was an inspiring message. My husband thought so and did not take to criticizing or nit picking pointing the finger over there to the other side. Hmmmm
President Nelson speaks to both men and women worldwide but perhaps you want to see something specific and not what he suggested at that time. Your choice. 🤷

Love this. There's nothing wrong with games, or sports, but when we allow them to become our God and forget what's most important we are in danger of spiritual suicide. Reminds me of Captain Moroni's wakeup call with the title of liberty to the Nephites.

President Nelson has never been afraid to speak boldly! But he always speaks the promised, blessings and miracles as boldly as he speaks of the need to change! I have seen miracles in the lives of men that I know that have taken his counsel to heart❤. We need to claim these promised blessings!

Mine is so much worse than that. My husband is blinded by selfish wants. I want so much for our family to be safe. Our sons are straying from the path and I weep each day for my family. I would rather lose my family members to death than to the adversary.
That is well said and very true! It is not one gender that needs this very sound council.

According to the biblical scriptures, when challenging times are ahead, turn to God and pray to Him. Always remember that He wants you to come to Him with your concerns. For all believers, Matt 28:20 And behold, I am always with you, to the end of the age. In Ephesians you can read about the Armour of God and how it protects you, He wants you to go to His Word and learn of His promises, Matt 29:20 but He promised that He would always be with you, those who believe in the true biblical God. Stay very close to the Fathers Word, since He is the author of the book.

So what’s the one and only way to keep the family spiritually safe? Not watching sport shows or playing games? Loving your wife? It went over my head.
It was in the last half of the video. Put on the full armor of God so we can engage in the most important work (God's work), focus on repenting daily. He mentioned our heart.
The blessings of the stock market are always on his mind...

God knows what our thoughts and intentions are. But people aren't mind readers.
Lsf me mention many worldly marridgss ade doing better than lds saint marridgses. Its doent take being religious to be a loving husband or wife how cn worldy marridges be this way
Religion can provide comfort in difficult times, help us connect with others, offer a sense of purpose, and give our lives meaning in morality. Much good comes from religion that's pure. Cynicism is not one.

I'm sorry. I know that even if we have people's names on the temple prayer roll some people move away from believing in the fulness of Christ's gospel or covenant keeping for years. :( But we can as individuals keep striving to focus on Jesus Christ's character.
