So human plus shown in fires of rubicon story trailer is a bit different since you have been already been augmented and not to mention the persons consciousness is transferred into a new body, which is insane.
And this is why the greatest of ravens never took the option. Giving away a part of yourself. A part of your personal freedom and autonomy for power. That's not the way of a free bird that lives on the scraps of the battlefield. That's the way of a raptor that is kept on the yoke of a bird holder. chained and bound. And you do not need. The upgrade to beat the game. You can do it completely pure. It's hilacious It's difficult. It will make you grind your teeth till they crack and rip your hair out at the root. But it can be done. And doing it straight with no improvements. Is what the greatest of ravens accomplish.
The entire concept of Human Plus has intrigued me for years. Awesome video, very few do anything related to Armored Core, I love AC and this channel is badass, earned a subscriber.
Thank you and yes human plus is a subject is quite an interesting, the idea of losing your human side to become powerful, the sacrifices a raven makes becoming a number with thier past wiped and finally how its ideas evolved into AMS.
I recall reading a theory that Human Plus is a broken remnant of NEXT technology. While seemingly plausible, it's unlikely for the fact that AC4 and AC1 aren't connected officially, and likely never will be.
technically "no" in a way all Lynx undergo what is essentially Human Plus now whether or not their "bodies" can take it is another thing entirely remember it still needs AMS aptitude to get stuff done in a NEXT in Lore there are specifics but never seen in gameplay since in AC4 it can be argued there is an on off switch to the kojima emitters
It just dawned on me the other day that the Human Plus are just incomplete Lynxs.. with the technology lost via the Great Destruction. This is great story telling and subtle nods.
i just finished the first Armored Core tonight as my introduction to the series and i had no idea Human Plus was like, a thing you could actually do in the game, great video!
Thank you for your kind words and you can but i always still look at how to unlock it and think that's kind of neat. I wonder how many people have played the game and never even knew about hp.
Rebel 137 that was my given number. It's been so long since I played ac1. But that sticks out like a thorn for me. I wasnt a very good player back then and I inadvertently got the enhancements lol. After getting the ability not having to kneel was my turning point and was able to beat the game. Also you missed one of the human plus abilities. The ability to have an overweight ac.
Nice, its thing like this that make ac game for me the memories and the lore. And well the issue with that human plus ability is it only unlocks after a player has beaten the game. And a raven who has never been in debt can suddenly do this. Now i was torn mentioning it as to me it was more a reward for completing the game.

@@armoredcorelore everyone can use an overweight AC they are "impractical" in the battlefield this is offset by human plus where their impracticality becomes viable as the overweight effects include energy drain and slower turning which are fully negated by human plus with booster efficiency and higher generator output
To my younger self it was "What do you mean there's a way to use backmounted weapons while moving?". Got all those buffs on a new account first mission as soon as I could.
@@armoredcorelore Human+ is a great starting point, if you ask me. It ties into both the technology and world of the early games so it serves as an excellent gateway to other topics
one of the added benefits of Human plus is that boost efficiency becomes much more efficient (your energy refills faster), next OVERWEIGHT LIMIT is no longer an issue want to slap heavy cores with a light weight legs? yeah no longer an issue this might be upgrades 3-4 or 5-6 what people like is basically being able to use their back weapons on bi-peds yeah... exactly Nineball/Hustler One
So as someone who play Armored Core from the very beginning, Human Plus is the western interpretation of Newtypes and so on from the Gundam franchise. If you did not go Human Plus but tried to fight someone who is Human Plus, the gap in firepower is very wide and you are probably going to get your insides pushed in.
in AC1 I'm fairly sure some of the Human Plus upgrades had more benefits like "passive increase to energy and physical defense" and the most notable "allowing to deploy with an overweight AC with no real detriment" Honestly I'm not sure about the validity of the defense increase but I know for a fact the overweight one is because I remember abusing it a bit along with having to do so to build some of the Arena AC's... from memory Valkyrie and nineball were "overweight" but then again this was like... what... 22 - 23 years ago since I last played the game so I could be wrong xD
Ah see you bring up a fair point here about overweight AC's. Because at first when typing this script i did think about the overweight and over energy as a Human plus upgrade too. However in truth you have to beat the game 100% then you can basically go wild, no Hp needed so i had to rewrite ha ha.
Overweight deployment is achieved after completing every mission which is possible only after you beat the game at least once as a player. But HP enemies suggest differently.
My guy, please keep it up, any kind of deep dive into anything is mint. I have properly discovered this due to armored core 6 and am craving more indepth world building in preparation for the next title. Thank you
They did and well who knows what limbs or nerves 621 is missing. But to joke about it then they bubbled wrapped them to make sure they were safe to sell off.
H+ is very mysterious. What does the surgery entail? Probably best From Software never included that detail, since I expect anything they included would end up sounding dated. Human Plus feels like Murakumo's counterpart to Dyne's (?) biological weapons research. Some things to think about; I don't think answers were ever given in-universe: How many people outright died on the operating table? What was the ultimate goal of the experimentation? Why only people in crazy amounts of debt? Makes me think of a different reason there were 2 Hustler One's. I've generally thought H1 was completely machine, with no human pilot. What if both of them are Human Plus subjects who accepted the augmentations, but didn't have free will? What if they were both brainwashed or otherwise controlled by that computer thingy? So, Hustler One always seems to 'survive' his own death because there's actually a few of him running around at any given time. It's just that nobody in-universe knows that there's more than one of him.
A big theme in Armored Core is Freedom, personal freedom and power specifically in a world where that is completely inaccessible to anybody. The only path available is to become a Raven, one of the few people able to live on their own terms in this universe but still beholden to the corporations for their survival. To get Human+ in the game, even if you can win now beat the game, you're not doing it on your own terms as a Free Raven.
Your are correct, Freedom is something ac looks at along with many many other themes. Human plus came with a lot of people jobs, my favourite example is security guard for corporations higher ups. They where never going to pilot an ac, but the advantages it gave them in their job made it something not to be missed out on.
@@armoredcorelore those people are basically owned by their corporations too though. It's not like you can get human+ and just quit cause no one gives this away for free, even the CEO of murakumo with Human+ to be a better ceo might have his life-line controlled by the board of directors. There's this distinct sense that once you go Human+ you're dependent on someone to keep you alive. It would be cool if the game hardlocked you into the murakumo ending once you got Human+
@@IRUKANJI Aye you do make a fair point there. Which is why i think AMS and next are the other side of this. Powerful ac even the corporations feared. Honestly I'd take a narrative game about being a human plus subject, now that would be cool.
I have no about it Leos Klein (the protagonist of Master of the Arena and antagonist for 2) like Valkyrie bought Human Plus to get the upper hand on Nineball. Also seeing that his goals in 2 are similar to Nineballs I think no doubt he didn’t go to crazy. Sure he wasn’t right in the head but it also could do to the fact with age since he is probably very old in 2. It’s not like I’m saying human+ did not affect his mind but more of he was probably more stable than most of them since he had plans that would actually work and people to work for him who weren’t probably all insane but wanted a better life so to put it.
@@armoredcorelorenot gonna lie,the only buff i like in human+ on AC1 is the radar. because without it,using the radar back parts while doing the sewer missions makes me feel slow, and unaware to my back...😅
I was 9 when I played AC1 and I didn't know that becoming a Human Plus subject was a thing the player could do. I guess I never managed to rack up enough debt.
You know it does seem a lot of people never got to experience human plus, its neat really as it means there is something we can go and experience in a whole new way.
I don't know if I missed the part that Murakumo just stumbled upon the HP tech and were doing experiments with it or was it not mentioned on the vid. Anyhow, still like it!
If you start doing videos for corporations in the original universe (AC1 through AC2: Another Age) and the Armored Core 3 universe (AC3 through Last Raven), I would suggest making separate playlists for them. Have the playlist titles indicate which games/universes those videos are about. You would also likely be making separate playlists for factions and ACs/pilots in ACV and Verdict Day.
That would be the same for me with AC2. I had no idea about human plus and managed to beat the game only to later go online and learn about Human plus.
fyi you can fix the text not lining up with the boxes if you mess around with the emulator settings. I had the same problem with AC and FF7. I can't remember what video settings they are but mess around a little and it can be corrected
Well long as you have fun it does not matter. I too am not a good ac player as one of my viewers tells me, they can not watch me play as it disappoints them ha ha.
I firmly believe that operations 6-10 further enhance the energy gauge performance. It at the very least stops at 8. I have never heard of it affecting turn speed but you can clearly see your energy dropping slower between operations 6 and 8 and I feel even more so up to 10.
There is a lot of different ideas on the mechanics of Human plus still even after all these years. You could be right, it just human plus as a mechanic has a lot of misinformation about it.
Well to be fair i am looking at it from an outside view, in truth nobody really knew about the ai in ac1 in the world of ac1 and nine-ball was made out to be this unbeatable pilot that ravens feared. It would not be until the actions of the raven of ac1 where nineball ai roots would be discovered.
I just remembered 621 is a human plus in AC6 since "their AC doesnt kneel down when firing their back mounted cannon". Still i hope fromsoft puts back those back mounted gatling guns, shotguns and linear cannons back in the future, since the only viable back mounted cannons are the SONGBIRDS for stagger stun lock builds...
@@armoredcorelore 621 is a human plus gen4. The newest generation is gen10, that is supposed to be safe and with a 100% success rate. Considering that, I think most pilots are human plus. Also the OS upgrades are augmentations too.
Good question. Answer a human plus raven is enhanced through replacing body parts and meshing with AC so if the ac loses its arm its possible the raven would feel the pain mentally or not at depending on how far they have been enhanced. He or she would not suffer any physical signs however what you could get is mayor mental health damage and we must remember that the enchantments themselves according to a certain tower blade city book that they eventually cause users heart to stop due to muscle stiffening.
@@NoName-hy6xj Oh sorry got lost there. To be honest there is not really a treatment suggested in the games lore unless we think the corporations have drugs to control the neurons of the brain to combat this or mental health services. However we are talking about an ac arm being blown off not the human plus arm as if it was the other way well I'm sure the corporations for a price would give him an enhanced one. As for the ac arms i think raven nest would replace it for the raven for a large price. We know thanks again to tower of blade that there is an operation to reverse human plus but its costly and could cost them thier lives on the table. Hope this helps.
Actually now that I think about it if you're stepping to the original AC to the AC3 universe, I think you're better off Covering Apple Boy and his AC Esperanza.
Great video! Glad you are doing AC1 stuff now. I just have a suggestion; I would recommend not using epsxe as it is extremely outdated and broken (especially for AC) for your in-game captures; emulate using the Duckstation emulator as it is the go-to for PS1 these days. It will not have any of the graphical or audio issues you are having as seen in your video with text, broken geometry, and popping/distorted audio. Much more accurate and easier to use as well as normally being updated with new features and stability fixes. Set the internal resolution scale to 3x or 5x and PGFX geometry correction checked in the Enhancement Settings and it will look amazing in comparison to epsxe. Keep the awesome videos coming!
Actually, it's pretty close to the more extreme form of the Alyana-Vijnana system in Iron Blooded Orphans. More specifically, what Eins turned into near the end of season 1
I am not to sure on gundam lore. so forgive me if i am wrong. However from my understanding new types are born that way so more like the AMS of AC4 AND for answer while the other system is an operation that can be done but is deadly like human plus and now augmented humans in ac6.
@@armoredcorelore Alaya-Vijyana is pretty much note for note Human PLUS. A surgery that meshes humans with mobile suit technology. What makes it dangerous is that the initial surgery can only be done to children and it has to "grow" with you. A more extreme case that's in line with Human PLUS's debilitating side effects is Ein Dalton. He ended up getting his body crushed in a battle and had his torso installed into a machine made specifically to mimic the human body just so his brain would be able to recognize it as his own. His own body is basically just a vegetable in a bio fluid-submerged cockpit module that can't move or express any emotion. Instead, everything comes out of the mobile suit itself, both his voice and body language
Human Plus was something I was somehow able to avoid when starting AC I like 4 months ago. Still didn't finish it due to the horrible platformer part in the last mission but I'll get there. Some day
Know that feeling, you'll get back to it one day. Honestly I am still one of these players who don't like to fail missions so when I first played ac1 I never got human plus because I loaded my last save and try again.
Nineball is an advanced AI who goes by the monocur Hustler 1 or H1, Nineball been around since the very beginning of AC so calling Nineball an HP doesn't count.
I have a theory that humanity never really went underground, due to the fact many vehicles and buildings are completely empty, like its a bunch of empty large scale dioramas, suppose there is no pilots after the human plus and its just euthanasia in a sense to keep people at bay from screwing over corporate assets? The implications are still huge because of how much questionable logic there is surrounding it.
I think it'd be interesting if 621 from AC6 was a victim of the human plus experiments.. not saying this as a theory or whatever, i dont think thats the case at all. but. it WOULD be cool
@@armoredcorelore still pretty new to the lore of the game (thanks for the help with that btw ;D) I know the games like to reset the timeline alot, so I'm not sure if AC6 would even Have anything akin to Human Plus. But I think it'd be a neat idea.. The fact the devs leave 621's origins open ended does lend to more fun speculating tho! can't complain with that!
is it fair to assume that in ac 6 pretty much everyone has a form of human plus, with the gens of augmentation being the corresponding level of human plus?
Bro, human plus don't make any sense to me, like on paper is a cool idea, but how can a surgery on the pilot affect the robot, because if you see the benefits from human plus (being able to shot shoulder weapon while walking, more boost power, new grid radar, etc...) they look more like a upgrade to the ac than a surgery benefit
True and in game it very hard to show this. As in lore human plus was given to body guards as well so they'd more strength, better vison if we could have seen this in action i feel it would have made hp that much more understandable. In truth Hp is more about becoming more machine then man for ac pilot, so when they are able to use a grid radar that is because they have had thier eyes swapped out for computers so really the ac is getting an upgrade, the pilot acts as another part of the ac allowing it access to this function.
Honestly Huitzilo, i would not worry too much. These videos are just for fun and you most likely won't need them to understand what is going on in ac6. However I'm happy to help if i can.
Another great video! You have my wholehearted support! However I have a small suggestion: Can you try to speak slower and more deliberate? Sometime your words are slurred together and really hard to understand. It's a shame since all these videos are so well researched and well written.

I knew the beginning of the trailer for ACVI feels familiar. It's a not so subtle nod to Human Plus from AC1.
Well at least Hp in AC1 let thier pilots look normal, not look like your ready to be put in the over for Sunday roast.
So human plus shown in fires of rubicon story trailer is a bit different since you have been already been augmented and not to mention the persons consciousness is transferred into a new body, which is insane.
It is a whole new... well a burning world to explore. I looking forward to seeing the details fromsoftware gives us on the whole process.
"...raven...you could be next..." If you are talking about human plus I'm already fully upgraded.
Embrace the power.
Geez... Piloing a NEXT is actually more Safe then taking Human Plus!
In a way yes. Weird huh.
That's the body horror crap that kept me from failing missions.
Sounds good to me, i just like to fire my back weapon without having to kneel.
@@armoredcorelore that's why treads are the way. I've never not piloted a chonky mech.

@@armoredcorelore it only unlocks after beating the game?
My memory is worse than I thought then lol. I thought I beat it cause I got the enhancements.

Thank you for the kind compliment and i hope you enjoy them.
Oh i know that feeling.
I went through all three PS1 games without this because of savescumming. I didn't think I'd be rewarded for failure.
Hey as long as you had fun.
I have been waiting for AC1 lore to appear here and the same for 2 and 3.
Well its here with a bit of rough start i will admit. But improve i shall and i hope you'll enjoy what's to come.
One of those upgrades that "doesn't do anything" actually is the one that dramatically expands the size of your sight lock.
I never actually had to use HP on my first playthrough. Maybe ill use it when I replay it
I admit its a fun time after going through without HP.
Funny how human plus you say is the western interpretation since armored core is a Japanese made game just like Gundam.
Now that i watch cyberpunk 2020-77, they are essesiantly augments & those cause cyberpsychosis
It's still possible to survive however, but the chance is very slim
@@somechinesedude5466 Trust me, the side effect of becoming a Human Plus is WAY more severe than cyberpsychosis.
in AC1 I'm fairly sure some of the Human Plus upgrades had more benefits like "passive increase to energy and physical defense" and the most notable "allowing to deploy with an overweight AC with no real detriment"
Honestly I'm not sure about the validity of the defense increase but I know for a fact the overweight one is because I remember abusing it a bit along with having to do so to build some of the Arena AC's... from memory Valkyrie and nineball were "overweight" but then again this was like...
Thanks I didnt realize there is a novel/manga. Time to binge read!
Have fun.
My guy, please keep it up, any kind of deep dive into anything is mint. I have properly discovered this due to armored core 6 and am craving more indepth world building in preparation for the next title. Thank you

can’t believe they made 621 of these
They did and well who knows what limbs or nerves 621 is missing. But to joke about it then they bubbled wrapped them to make sure they were safe to sell off.
@@armoredcoreloreI dont think he is missing limbs since he even swims to the ac in the sewers and that he has all 4 in the story trailer
@@knightknox6562 True!
H+ is very mysterious. What does the surgery entail? Probably best From Software never included that detail, since I expect anything they included would end up sounding dated.
Human Plus feels like Murakumo's counterpart to Dyne's (?) biological weapons research.
Some things to think about; I don't think answers were ever given in-universe:
How many people outright died on the operating table?
What was the ultimate goal of the experimentation?
Why only people in crazy amounts of debt?
Makes me think of a different reason there were 2 Hustler One's. I've generally thought H1 was completely machine, with no human pilot. What if both of them are Human Plus subjects who accepted the augmentations, but didn't have free will? What if they were both brainwashed or otherwise controlled by that computer thingy? So, Hustler One always seems to 'survive' his own death because there's actually a few of him running around at any given time. It's just that nobody in-universe knows that there's more than one of him.
It's confirmed in a mission from AC1 that Murakumo didn't create the Human Plus tech, they simply found (or were gifted) it.
Like a half human mechanized pilot
Pretty much with your eyes pulled out and other delightful organs missing.
@@armoredcorelore So the techpriest treatment?
@@armoredcorelore i mean that's literally what AC6 was but I get exactly what you mean lmao
It’s not like I’m saying human+ did not affect his mind but more of he was probably more stable than most of them since he had plans that would actually work and people to work for him who weren’t probably all insane but wanted a better life so to put it.
the beginning roots of Arquebus's Vespers right here
In debt but donating kidneys in murakuno for buffs?yes
Makes sense to me. Got to pay that debt to big corp might as well get something out of it.
@@armoredcorelorenot gonna lie,the only buff i like in human+ on AC1 is the radar.

Human plus aka super soldiers that are deadly and the most famous of them all Is Nine Ball
I was 9 when I played AC1 and I didn't know that becoming a Human Plus subject was a thing the player could do. I guess I never managed to rack up enough debt.
You know it does seem a lot of people never got to experience human plus, its neat really as it means there is something we can go and experience in a whole new way.
Also in H+ You can shoot lil energy ball by tapping O a second time while using the laser sword
I don't know if I missed the part that Murakumo just stumbled upon the HP tech and were doing experiments with it or was it not mentioned on the vid. Anyhow, still like it!
Hmm i swear i mentioned they were given it by a certain AI.
For my pilot who notices that 9Ball was flying around while shooting shoulder canons...
...it was a gift.
I think that would be a good idea and really i could not mix lynx and raven together anyway due to thier title change.
When I played AC the first time, I didn't knew the human+ existed and I Just complete the first generation without knowing.
Oh thank you. I will have to have a play around with them then =)
I remember getting this because even though I loved Armored Core, I was trash at it. Now, I still play them and am still trash.
Well long as you have fun it does not matter. I too am not a good ac player as one of my viewers tells me, they can not watch me play as it disappoints them ha ha.
You should do a video on the Armored Core manga. I've always been curious about it.
Hmmm maybe as a side project one time. I would like to really dig my teeth into the AC1 lore before i think about doing other items.
@@armoredcorelore yeah lol. I have seen some guides say stop at the fourth one. OP-I definitely helped a lot with it all.
fantastic job sir!!! makes me want to play the first gen games again!
Thank you for the kind words. However i know there is some improvements to be done, but next time I'll hit it out the park.
I didn't even know there was a death mechanic in that game. I grinded and won every mission.
you already know that nine ball is an A.I so that was weird
Well to be fair i am looking at it from an outside view, in truth nobody really knew about the ai in ac1 in the world of ac1 and nine-ball was made out to be this unbeatable pilot that ravens feared. It would not be until the actions of the raven of ac1 where nineball ai roots would be discovered.
@@armoredcorelore chronologically fair! As i was introduced later to the series that nuance was not in my mind.
Oh 621 and all the augmented pilots are way past simply being just HP with what they do. I would like some more back mounted weapons.
@@armoredcorelore 621 is a human plus gen4.
The newest generation is gen10, that is supposed to be safe and with a 100% success rate.
Considering that, I think most pilots are human plus.
Also the OS upgrades are augmentations too.
Hollons seems to steer clear of this path.
So damn glad I never encountered that, but I've heard tons of players did it purposely because of the gameplay benefits it gains.
Lore question: Human Plus Raven had lost an arm of his AC in battle. What's gonna happen to him and how's he gonna get it treated?
Good question. Answer a human plus raven is enhanced through replacing body parts and meshing with AC so if the ac loses its arm its possible the raven would feel the pain mentally or not at depending on how far they have been enhanced.
He or she would not suffer any physical signs however what you could get is mayor mental health damage and we must remember that the enchantments themselves according to a certain tower blade city book that they eventually cause users heart to stop due to muscle stiffening.
@@armoredcorelore So, uh, what's the best way to treat their injury?

Thank you and i will give it a try.
Cyber-New Types for a non-UC Gundam Timeline.
Actually, it's pretty close to the more extreme form of the Alyana-Vijnana system in Iron Blooded Orphans. More specifically, what Eins turned into near the end of season 1
great power but at what cost all of your humanity ?...
No only your eyes, a few of your organs and the loss of being able to show any emotion. Kind of scary.
I'll take OP-Intensify from ac3 and silent line over human plus.

Holyshit ps1 ac looks so much better in my memories.

Maybe THAT’S where “Catarina” comes from?!?!?
So basically Cyber Newtype and Alaya Vijnana System
I am not to sure on gundam lore. so forgive me if i am wrong. However from my understanding new types are born that way so more like the AMS of AC4 AND for answer while the other system is an operation that can be done but is deadly like human plus and now augmented humans in ac6.
And GUND System in Witch from Mercury.

Human Plus is renamed as "Augmented Human" in Armored Core VI Fires of Rubicon.
It is and its evolved past simple being one thing we now have generations all the way up to generation ten.

Ac game is in ps vita an you can port ac 2 H+ to last raven
