Some of the talk he did goes way beyond trash talking. They were almost supernatural. Watched him all through his career. My favorite player then. Still is.
IT WAS MY BEST TIME FOR BASKETBALL. I PLAYRD IN SCHOOL, LOVED THE GAME NOW IN 83 AND 84 WATCHING ALOT AND THE DOCTOR ASKED ME WHAT WAS WRONG AND I SAID NOTHING AND SAID WHERE ARE YOUR FINGER NAILS BITTEN DOWN... I SAID BECAUSE OF BASKETBALL ❤❤❤
Enjoyed your reaction 😊 For me Larry Bird's trash talking, either broke a player down, or forced an opponent to be a better player, & it was the strength of the player, which way they were affected.......that was just a part of who Bird was 😊
Larry Bird explained in an interview that when he was about 10 years old, he grew up playing pickup basketball with black men who worked at a hotel near his home in French Lick, Indiana. He respected them and they kinda took him in. I would think that if you're going to be 10 playing against guys in their 20's you get to be pretty familiar with trash talking.
When USA decided to send their best players to Barcelona olympics, the were "dream team". NBA and Nike wanted Jordan to be captain, but he said no. He wanted Bird and Magic as Co-captain. It says a lot of those guys. Bird and Magic even as Co-captain were among players who played least I never forget a match in olympics. The whole arena was chanting Bird, Bird. The fans wanted him. So he got up and out. And is was written in Hollywood, Jordan had to run to get the ball, and behind the back he send it down the side to Byrd who scored 3 points
The Brad Daugherty story. Thats just balls of steel. I remember seeing that highlight. On a old sports show. Middle of the night. I busted out laughing. They slow mode it back and forth zoomed in on him hitting him in the butt. Still laugh to this day.
Who else could call a 60 point game and not only back it up but having the opposing bench falling over themselves in disbelief with every bucket and pretty much cheering him on?
Pat Riley once said “if I had to pick one player to take a shot to save a game, I’d pick Michael Jordan. If I had to pick one player to take a shot to save my life… I’d pick Larry Bird.”
The 3pt shot was introduced around the time Bird came into the league. It wasn't used the same way it is today. It was basically an end of the game type of play. In his day, there was none better than Bird. He was like an assassin. Can only imagine what he would have done in today's league.
Pat Riley said it best. If I need one shot to save a game I'm having MJ take it but if I had to choose a player to take a shot to save my life, I'm choosing Larry Bird
When Larry went back to the bench after that shot that wasn't counted because of the time out, he told the bench the play he wanted then to get out of his way. Casey told Bird to shut up that he was the coach, and he called the plays. Then Casey preceded to tell the bench the exact play Bird had called even the get the hell out of the way part.
I've watched 20+ years of the Patriots. Had a blast doing it! Make no mistake. Nothing was like watching The Celtics and Larry Legend in the 80's and early 90's. He was always money in big games. Even with a couple seconds left on the clock. You always had a chance with Larry. I show my 11 year old all these videos to this day.
Bird called the shot and never said “off glass,” as he confused one shot with another. He accurately tells the story in a much older clip. But he called that to a tee. Insane.
If you weren’t there, there is no way to explain the genius of Larry Legend. If he’d been athletic, no one would even come close. The man is truly something special. Even watching tape doesn’t do him justice.
Im liking these reactions! When you get a chance put "Why You NEVER Poke Larry Bird - A Trash Talk STORY Told by NBA Legends! on your list. It's about one of the best 7th games in NBA playoff history.
My favorite thing about his trash talk is that it's not vulgar saying Fuk every other word. He just tells you exactly what he's going to do and that you can't stop him.
You gotta watch the game Larry got 60 points in! Hawks & Celtics! That's the game they're talking about the beginning of this video. Off the court Larry is quiet... shy kind of guy. On the court ...totally different person! LOL
Larry Bird is One in a Billion... He came in as a Rookie and told Pete Maravich a Hall of Fame player and said ( If you were any good they wouldn't be double teaming me) and Pete maravich retired the following year.. plus as a Rookie he said to the entire team that he's not going to get anyone any water and he's not carrying one bag of luggage. Dominant from the start of his first year.
The amazing thing to me is that he did that stuff on last second shots to tie or win the game. I can see it on shots through the game, but the other is unreal.
It’s funny how I was born in 1980 and got to see a lot of bird I find it funny how long it took for everyone to be talking and showing the legend of Larry bird
At 16:26 of this video you said "there're no bball players today that do that (trash talk)". That means the old saying is true: "There'll never be another Larry Bird".
bird haters bring up certain statistics to discredit him, but listen to some of these stories. "he was so hot that he started shooting with his left hand." he was literally so good that some nights he would just fuck around. yet according to some, he was a bad shooter. it's amazing to me.
when Larry was in High School he would go play BB with some of the people from a large hotel. Most were black and he was happy they let him play. He says they taught him all kinds of things.
Some where in all these videos about Larry, one of his contemporary opponents said he trashed talk all the time but you wouldn't know watching on TV because he has no lips.
Ah, yes. “It was a bad night.” Not unlike approaching the Grand Canyon in your vehicle and warning the family that there’s going to be a pothole in the road. What can I say about Larry Legend that hasn’t already been said. That’s why I’m gonna show love for a man who’s one of the biggest class acts the NBA has seen, Doc Rivers! Love Doc.
Bird was a masterful basketball player. His game is ageless. And in top of that, he is the best trash talker in the history of the game and beyond but he baked up each and every time. To me, he is the Muhammed Ali of basketball.
Larry legend my man calling shots out to his opponents n they still couldnt stop him couple time he had 3 people guard him. Didnt even take his warm up shirt off at 3 point contest. If not greatest of all time at least in conversation. Thats the ball i grew up with in the 80s. Come on coach why you putting the white boy on me ha ha ha. Thank you sir for thoughts and comments
What's funnier is that Kevin McHale broke the Celtics single game scoring record like 10 days before and came out the game before it was over and Larry told him that he should have stayed in and kept scoring because Larry was going to beat his record. And then he did.
Larry came into the league the same year they added the 3 point shot , so wasn't shooting the 3 in high school or college...but he started working on it ,...his numbers for the 3 are impressive after about year3 or 4.
Favorite NBA play of all time: Bird steals the in-bound pass. Barely has time to move his head. Dishes to DJ who is streaking down the middle. If anyone out there hasn't seen this play then you really don't understand how cerebral Bird really was. Always thinking 2-3 plays ahead of time.
I remember hearing somewhere, I think it was in one of these compilations that "Jordan makes you feel slow, but Bird makes you feel stupid."
James Worthy Quote
@@StevenBoudreau good to know, thanks
Look slow and look stupid is the actual quote
@@VoldoronGaming fair enough, thanks for the correction.
The best thing about Bird wasn't that he always wanted to eat your soul in a game.
It's that he also wanted to tell you how it tasted.
Facts! 💯 thats Larry Bird to a tee.
WELL SAID!
Best comment on Larry thank you 🫡
Dude would make left handed hook shots while falling down like he practiced that shot.
Some of the talk he did goes way beyond trash talking. They were almost supernatural. Watched him all through his career. My favorite player then. Still is.
He was definitely on a different level🔥🔥
IT WAS MY BEST TIME FOR BASKETBALL. I PLAYRD IN SCHOOL, LOVED THE GAME NOW IN 83 AND 84 WATCHING ALOT AND THE DOCTOR ASKED ME WHAT WAS WRONG AND I SAID NOTHING AND SAID WHERE ARE YOUR FINGER NAILS BITTEN DOWN... I SAID BECAUSE OF BASKETBALL ❤❤❤
Larry didn’t just trash talked, he backed it up. He also played mind games relentlessly on the opposing team.
That was Birds patented running jump shot. Impossible to defend because you never knew when he was going to hit you with it.
That's why they call him larry legend goat 🐐 status
Enjoyed your reaction 😊 For me Larry Bird's trash talking, either broke a player down, or forced an opponent to be a better player, & it was the strength of the player, which way they were affected.......that was just a part of who Bird was 😊

The game was so much better and fun to watch back then. Watching Larry and Magic play was great fun!
Right, I was just saying that earlier today, Lol
When USA decided to send their best players to Barcelona olympics, the were "dream team". NBA and Nike wanted Jordan to be captain, but he said no. He wanted Bird and Magic as Co-captain. It says a lot of those guys. Bird and Magic even as Co-captain were among players who played least

I miss the days when the NBA wasn't soft.
Me too!
Yea, now the players are crying to the NBA about not getting enough foul calls.
Yeah, we completely stopped watching years ago because they're a bunch of pansies now
Yup. Karl Malone's elbows, Barkley's big ass, Rodman's everything. Lots of contact, still with rules.
Woke girly hopscotch, can't bring myself to watch
Damn... I really miss this guy.. Like magic said, "there will never ever ever be, another larry bird".
Yes the game has changed so much since these days. Kinda cool going back and watching film and the history of players in the NBA
I forgot Magic said that. You're right.
He won't be forgotten, that's certain. If only everyone seen him play , I did and loved it
60 yr old Larry dropped ten plus 3 pointers in a row in a business suit and loafers while his Pacsrs were were getting ready to practice.
Larry Bird doesn't have 'a' shot...
He had all the shots...
He even made baskets from behind the backboard glass.
Absolute GOAT!
The Brad Daugherty story. Thats just balls of steel. I remember seeing that highlight. On a old sports show. Middle of the night. I busted out laughing. They slow mode it back and forth zoomed in on him hitting him in the butt. Still laugh to this day.

Pat Riley once said “if I had to pick one player to take a shot to save a game, I’d pick Michael Jordan. If I had to pick one player to take a shot to save my life… I’d pick Larry Bird.”
🔥 He was definitely a clutch player. I’m just mad I didn’t get to see him live..
This is when the nba was fun. It's not the same now.
One legged three at the buzzer for the win followed by a "I told you so", in Brazil we call that humiliation.
Larry Legend is the G.O.A.T of trash talkers. 😎
Larry Legend 🏀 got in other player's head....took their mind off of the game.... savage 😡 GOAT 🐐
The 3pt shot was introduced around the time Bird came into the league. It wasn't used the same way it is today. It was basically an end of the game type of play. In his day, there was none better than Bird. He was like an assassin. Can only imagine what he would have done in today's league.
He would avg 5 or 6 , 3pts a game today. He only avg 2 , 3pt back in the 80s
@@derekbeck9124 the 3pter wasn't used as the main source of scoring back then. Birds 3pt shots were the definition of a "dagger 3!"
Pat Riley said it best. If I need one shot to save a game I'm having MJ take it but if I had to choose a player to take a shot to save my life, I'm choosing Larry Bird
America loves its professionals. So smooth. Larry, Tiger, Jordan. The GOATs
The list... It is long.
We had Boston Celtics season tickets for years. We had the honor of watching Larry Bird play for years. One of the best in the NBA
I'm looking forward to your reaction to part 2.
☘️ Larry Legend
Bird was the biggest Trash Talker in the NBA! 😂😂😂
Yep that was Larry Bird, got to see him in his final home game at the Boston Garden in 1992 when I was 10. King of trash talk
Larry wasnt one of the biggest trash talkers, he was hands down the greatest and most savage trash talker ever lol.
Larry bird talk the talk and walk the Walk
Things Bird did weren't normal...lol
Bird wasn't born with a ton of natural talent, he was that good because he put in the work.
Bird was a cold-blooded assassin on the court!
That Atlanta game in Orleans is just beyond.
Put some Respect on his name that's Larry Legend
Larry Legend is only person in NBA history to win MVP, coach of the year and executive of the year.
Larry Bird is a phenomenal
When Larry went back to the bench after that shot that wasn't counted because
of the time out, he told the bench the play he wanted then to get out of his

I saw this comment on another reaction:
"Larry Bird didn't talk ****, he spoke the truth."
larry was about the only player back then that had the swag to tell the coach what he was giung to do, few others ever did if any
Bird called the shot and never said “off glass,” as he confused one shot with another. He accurately tells the story in a much older clip. But he called that to a tee. Insane.
Bird was sick with the skills man smh 💯💯
“I didn’t mean to leave 2 seconds on the clock” is one of the coldest things I’ve ever heard.
If you weren’t there, there is no way to explain the genius of Larry Legend. If he’d been athletic, no one would even come close. The man is truly something special. Even watching tape doesn’t do him justice.
What they don't mention in the last highlight is that Bird hit a running three at the buzzer to tie the game and send it into overtime
Im liking these reactions! When you get a chance put "Why You NEVER Poke Larry Bird - A Trash Talk STORY Told by NBA Legends! on your list. It's about one of the best 7th games in NBA playoff history.
Gotcha It’s been added to the Hit list 🎯
Really enjoyed this! I am from Indiana and here God is setting in Birds seat!
I believe Bird is the only player Jordan never trash talked. One time I think Jordan said he learned his trash talk from Bird.
Aw, I spotted Dennis Johnson. R. I. P.☘️☘️
This is a great video series. Enjoyed your reaction! Looking forward to part 2.
Definitely more Bird to come
I love your take on the game and how you know Larry Bird is the goat very good reaction video thank you for time
Great fun. Thanks for creating.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Favorite Bird story when home team cheer leaders took him out partying then comes into game thanks for the party
My favorite thing about his trash talk is that it's not vulgar saying Fuk every other word. He just tells you exactly what he's going to do and that you can't stop him.

Play group mentally no body's punk lol 😆 Dude was a scoring machine
I never heard that thanks
The amazing thing to me is that he did that stuff on last second shots to tie or win the game. I can see it on shots through the game, but the other is unreal.
Could you imagine today’s whiny players dealing with Bird. LaBron would be having a hissy fit all the time.
It’s not trash talk if always right 😅
It’s funny how I was born in 1980 and got to see a lot of bird I find it funny how long it took for everyone to be talking and showing the legend of Larry bird
27 points left handed . . . In 3 QUARTERS!
Larry’s legendary trash talking was the base for McDonald’s commercials with Larry and Mj……..u should look it up
When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them because they were confused and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.
Matthew 9:36
LAKERS for Life, But I love Larry Bird 🐦 😂😂😂

when Larry was in High School he would go play BB with some of the people from a large hotel. Most were black and he was happy they let him play. He says they taught him all kinds of things.
“Now remember Larry Bird is white “ while looking around like people didn’t know he was is hilarious 😂😂😂😂😂

Who would be confident enough today to even consider doing what Larry did.

LARRY BIRD PLAYING WAS LIKE WATCHING A PREDATOR PLAYING WITH ITS FOOD.
Larry Bird walks up to you and says, "I am better than you." Then dominates you, over and over, all career.
When you can back it up, it's okay to talk trash.
Imagine calling a 60 point performance, and then backing it up.
What's funnier is that Kevin McHale broke the Celtics single game scoring record like 10 days before and came out the game before it was over and Larry told him that he should have stayed in and kept scoring because Larry was going to beat his record. And then he did.
three point line started Larry's rookie year, he didn't grow up shutting three pointers
If you watch the 60 point game.. the entire crowd was cheering Larry, Larry, Larry......
Today's players are all about there Brand, Passion for the game Isnt what it used to be.
Larry came into the league the same year they added the 3 point shot , so wasn't shooting the 3 in high school or college...but he started working on it ,...his numbers for the 3 are impressive after about year3 or 4.
It wasn’t trash talking. He was predicting the future.
THAT MAN IS A LEGEND
Bird is the GOAT
Larry is my GOAT
there is another Bird trash talking compilation out there that absolutely blows this one away....sad I cannot remember the name of it
Love the channel subscribed!
Let’s go💯
he was very comfortable with a basketball
Larry Legend is the G.O.A.T of trash talkers 😂
Weren't worried their brand
Small town and old school. No excuses.
If someone tells you what He is going to do and does it, it's not trash, it's the truth.
16:23 players back then didn’t necessarily talk to coaches the way Larry did. He’s a once in a generation type of leader. Tom Brady is similar.
Back in the day, Bird ain't no jelly belly.
Birds three against phoenix was his only 3 point attempt of that game.
He learned by playing with a bunch a brothers……… that’s where he learned !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!
