- One of the frequently asked questions I get is, will the BF2:MC server code be released? Can it be made open source or can I host my own servers so I thought I would make a quick video to address all of the above.

As long as the game continues to thrive, that's all I care about. That an hopefully here soon we'll have enough online to justify an NA server.

NA servers are planned no matter how many people are playing.
That's actually awesome news, and to be quite honest playing on EU servers isn't even that bad. I was shocked at how well the gunplay still played out. I'll occasionally have some funky stuff happen but all in all I can't complain
@TabsAnDabs The plan has always been EU servers until 12pm EU time then they switch over to NA servers for 12 hours then switch back to EU. Its just getting the logistics in place. Also I think the priority at the minute is stats, clans and security.
I just have to say to you and omega an absolute job well done. I been on the discord for about a year and been checking on the status here and there as life has gotten busy and I couldn't believe the updates you guys posted about having live servers again. This was the first game I ever played online back in 2006 and the game brought nothing but joy to me and my childhood friends growing up. I am excited to get my account set up and relive the good ole days again and can already see familiar faces jump in and I am looking forward to reconnecting with everyone again. What an accomplishment you guys should be so proud.

Sounds reasonable ! Big thank to you and Omega for making it all possible. Maybe one day Generic Field can be the open source version. I was thinking it would be neat to finish that and make it like the upgraded version of the game.
Haha Generic Field. It would be a lot easier to make now that the game is online. I'm taking a break from the remake for a while but maybe we will finish it someday. At least we don't need to now that we have the game online again.
@@JMMREVIEW The ultimate Generic Field game would have a level editor. That would be epic. So people could re create classic levels or make new ones. Just like Roblox.
Make sure you and Omega don't go travelling together in case there's an accident.
It's probably a good policy to have at least 2 people with the server code at all times so it can always be passed on if something happens to the current host.
Kinda like the sith's rule of 2. A master, an apprentice and some future candidates.

i only have the pal version and no way to do the emulater. any updates on a pal version ?
Right now the only way to play the PAL version is to use a soft mod (FMCB)

freaking hackers always try to ruin game fun for everyone! dont let them do it!
