You’re definitely right, but, it’s not depth it is the illusion of depth. Filmmakers are exceptional at this. Filmmakers trick the brain by putting a lot of lines in the frame. Now check out the first frame @0:01 and see all the lines in that frame.

The camera is 100% scripted to make showcases like these more engaging. The movements have no logic behind them. Maybe this dev is just some kind of genius who can do more natural, illogical movements than ILM
I'd be interested in this if the enemy faces weren't blurred. It's a bigger deal than you think since it means we don't get to see any decent blood splatter or cool shots to the back of the head or face. Body shots don't really do it for me
Ive been to that place multiple times, they just added cgi characters, prompts and some props to make it gamey. How come triple A games with bid budget, that are developed by big teams and are on UE5 dont look like this? UE5 was released to the public not so long ago. Dev companies have access to it for far longer, even before the engine itself was showcased for the first time. Use your brain.

This shows how with most big-budget videogames, photorealism is often not actually the goal - rather what we want is a convincing and super high-fidelity fantasy world. This is very different from that. This is very impressive and very interesting. Looks to me like a lot of the visual realism comes from environment design, highly detailed animation, model texturing, and rendering effects that mimic a small camera with a small lens and auto exposure. Esp the way the trees and sky outside are rendered is very true to that.
This makes a non VR game look like a VR one. IF this can be played with keyboard and mouse without a VR headset, it's just perfect. Unmatched level of immersion. Imagine the devs seeing all the comments of ppl saying they think it's fake. That's actually a huge compliment.

Yes this actually quite disturbing when you stop to think about it. It was always easier to recognize the line between what's real and what's a game when it came to shooters. This is especially important for kids for whom you don't want to normalize violence. But if shooters begin to emulate real life, it breaks down those walls and opens up the possibilty that this is going to desensitize people to this kind of violence. It reminded me of watching videos on liveleak or r/watchpeopledie. It's kind of scary.

I'm really interested in how he is handling the camera's movements. It seems that the hand is controlled by a mouse, so I'm not sure how he managed to let the player rotate his head this naturally. This is a top-level talent right here. Can't wait to try it out.
This is actually possible for a while now. The modern engines allow for interactions like that automatically, but it requires soooo much work for details. Amazing job indeed.

Easily one of the best first-person cameras I've seen. Combined with the excellent animation, lighting, and materials it gives a sense of striking realism. Kudos to the artists and engineers who made it happen.

The lighting is Lumen, the environment are photogrammetry scans using Nanite, the camera movement and detail in the animations comes from inverse kinematics. You can see the animations used multiple times, like when he kicks the door, the death animations, the reload animation. You can also see the less-than-perfect collision and physics of the chair the dude trips over at the end.
The lighting of this videogame is just insane. Also, is incredible how they use the bodycam video quality and how it ajusts to light to make the game more real.
Honestly the animations to me are more impressive than the graphics. The micro-adjustments the guy makes with his hands while holding the pistol really sells it, along with the fact that the gun seems to move more than the camera itself, unlike most FPS's today where the gun looks like a static mesh stuck to the side of your screen.

They need settings to be available for when your killed in the game you have to start completely at the beginning of the game and depending on how you were injured and where it will affect your gameplay so you can't take a magical medkit and completely heal your gunshot or stabbed wounds or a broken arm/leg or let's say you stepped on a rusty nail that to will affect your stealth. Now that will absolutely make you play to survive with caution.

I'm old enough to remember gaming before the NES. It's incredible to me to see the progress of video game fidelity, where we now have games that could be considered almost indistinguishable from real life
This/These dev(s) have mastered manipulating light transition, head wobble, lens distortion, smoke effects, fine detail animations, weapon manipulation, and many more minor details that occur in our everyday lives. It's truly impressive. The "photorealism" is nothing without these elements to actually make it feel real.
This game looks so real cuz of the camera movement, animations and the fisheye effect + graphics, on vr that is the normal excepts for the graphics (would not be that impresive as a normal desktop game)
@@Revilionwar nothing stops a VR game from looking as impressive as a flatscreen game except the hardware you're running it on. Takes roughly 2x power to get the same visuals into the headset. If this uses neural radiance fields instead of traditional polygon graphics, it could run on the Quest 2.
The movement had me convinced it was vr for a while especially when he reloaded the pistol and cleared the chamber twice, but then later doesn't completely empty his mag and knows there is still one in the chamber so he just drops the mag, puts a new mag in and doesn't bother to chamber a new round in. Super clean!!!
This game is so accurate with the way a pistol handles, that it really demonstrates how difficult it is to shoot accurately while moving! Very impressive representation
It goes back and forth alot. There are time and moments where its like, as you sure this is a game? then others where its brutally obvious its a game. We're almost there

What’s exciting about this to me is that perfect graphics will soon become the standard and people won’t be intrigued by it anymore. Thus, (hopefully) leading to more in-depth game development being the driving factor of sales for gaming companies.
The big twist at the end of the game is that it turns out to be real after all and you were controlling someone in the dark web and you actually shot real people....I feel like I'm gonna throw up

The intelligence level of the developers.... all of the research.... the vehicles layout.... stairs, broken things all over.... the way the camera moves, the bodies as they fall, the way the gun interacts with the scenario.... this game has had a lot of sleepless nights, skipping meals..... Since it's a bodycam game you are not in control of the head at all; only the arms and the sternum POV.
There is a similiar thing in gmod as mod. In that mod when you go to the edge of the screen with your arms then the camera moves.
Mr ethanol is right, there was Smod:tactical for half-life 2 back in the day, same aim system you see here if I'm seeing things right
ArmA 3 has a deadzone option that lets you do something similar.

They need settings to be available for when your killed in the game you have to start completely at the beginning of the game and depending on how you were injured and where it will affect your gameplay so you can't take a magical medkit and completely heal your gunshot or stabbed wounds or a broken arm/leg or let's say you stepped on a rusty nail that to will affect your stealth. Now that will absolutely make you play to survive with caution.

Without people's faces, animation, play of light and shadow, there will be no realism at all. Notice that there's a lack of shadows, practically everywhere.

This/These dev(s) have mastered manipulating light transition, head wobble, lens distortion, smoke effects, fine detail animations, weapon manipulation, and many more minor details that occur in our everyday lives. It's truly impressive. The "photorealism" is nothing without these elements to actually make it feel real.

@@Revilionwar nothing stops a VR game from looking as impressive as a flatscreen game except the hardware you're running it on. Takes roughly 2x power to get the same visuals into the headset. If this uses neural radiance fields instead of traditional polygon graphics, it could run on the Quest 2.
From the movements it looks like it is being played in VR. The gun aiming and reload animations all look like their being tracked by VR controllers.

The movement had me convinced it was vr for a while especially when he reloaded the pistol and cleared the chamber twice, but then later doesn't completely empty his mag and knows there is still one in the chamber so he just drops the mag, puts a new mag in and doesn't bother to chamber a new round in. Super clean!!!

This game is so accurate with the way a pistol handles, that it really demonstrates how difficult it is to shoot accurately while moving! Very impressive representation

The intelligence level of the developers.... all of the research.... the vehicles layout.... stairs, broken things all over.... the way the camera moves, the bodies as they fall, the way the gun interacts with the scenario.... this game has had a lot of sleepless nights, skipping meals.....
