The judges were awful to her throughout the competition. American Idol lost all credibility for me when Haley was voted off. She's clearly the most diverse and talented singer that's ever been on Idol.

Come on, it´s a scripted, directed and produced tv show, it´s entertainment that brings in money to the network that shows it. Its all bout the money. Haley is on such a high vocal level that most people can´t understand her skill set anyway, that is the nature of the beast with todays music listeners. They want musical "fast food" and that´s what they get.
They weren't judging her. They were deliberately sabotaging her at the behest of the show's producers. Nonetheless, in the end they all miserably failed. As it was the almost unlimited power voting that American Idol permitted, as opposed to one vote per individual voting, that caused Haley to be ripped off.

I am here because of the wave of YT recommendations I'm suddenly getting for Haley singing with the excellent Postmodern Jukebox. I realized I remember this girl from when I watched American Idol! If you actually pay attention you can see she actually has improved her technique and control a lot. She had potential and she capitalized on it. Hence, at the time, Simon was deliberately undermining American Idol in favor of his new upcoming show. In fact, he not only rejected Haley, but he also rejected Tori Kelly as well. Season 9 would have been outstanding with both Haley Reinhart and Tori Kelly competing. Instead, season 9 was one of the most boring seasons of American Idol ever.
At the time, Pia was only a one trick pony who was not close to being in Haley's league. Since then Pia, thanks to her husband, has become a far better performer. However, she is still not close to being in the same league with Haley. Pia was the third best female on the show that season.

Haley has more talent in her pinky than JLo or Randy could even dream of having. And they judge her?...absurd.
Come on, it´s a scripted, directed and produced tv show, it´s entertainment that brings in money to the network that shows it. Its all bout the money. Haley is on such a high vocal level that most people can´t understand her skill set anyway, that is the nature of the beast with todays music listeners. They want musical "fast food" and that´s what they get.
They weren't judging her. They were deliberately sabotaging her at the behest of the show's producers. Nonetheless, in the end they all miserably failed. As it was the almost unlimited power voting that American Idol permitted, as opposed to one vote per individual voting, that caused Haley to be ripped off.

I really liked Steven Tyler as a judge. Seems like he was really having a good time and has a passion for music. He was also very encouraging too.
Steven Tyler made an effort to be encouraging. His father was a music teacher in his later years. His father was also the son of a music teacher. He died in September of 2011.

Haley loved jazz even then. She was the first person to ever sing with her high school's accomplished jazz band. They performed at the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland. She studied jazz at Harper college and performed with the college's Jazz Ensemble and Jazz Lab.

She is one of the greatest contestants, but not the greatest (that title belongs to Jessica Sanchez). Artists like Haley Reinhart and Jessica Sanchez are a rare commodity. Artists like Scotty McCreery and Phillip Phillips are a dime a dozen. Jessica Sanchez is the greatest singer I've ever heard in my life.

There are many lesser known singers who are in a higher league than already famous singers (most of them autotuned). Last year, she showed what she’s really capable of during the American Idol season 15 finale.

Which will not be until the 2020 Grammys because the album is being released too late for this year's Grammy Awards. I hope he is right, we'll see soon enough.

No she hasn't. Vocally, she was just as good on American Idol as she is today. However, performance wise, she has very significantly improved.

If you actually pay attention you can see she actually has improved her technique and control a lot. She had potential and she capitalized on it. If it's really about "performance to you, then listen to her sing an older song vs a newer one with your eyes closed and you can tell her voice now is more polished and she has an outstanding amount of control.
