@dawnedeclipse your playing a control deck vs a storm combo. technically, if the storm card (tendrils of agony ect.) gets played, you can only FoW one copy and the rest gets through. If the storm count is way more than a kill, you can't get around it with a FoW. Countering mana ramp spells with mental mistep ( dark rituals and others) is a viable plan %100.
After seeing the video my eldrazi deck needs to be revamped people where I live at are a little strict on the cards I use because I still like to get out the legends on turn 5 or 6 sometimes even sooner. I still run a red white deck that is legacy standard that utilizes synergy in order to win so I'm glad to see this list before everyone else thanks ChannelFireball.
I think it's really funny how they talk about how Splinter twin might not be a good deck after the bannings, and how here we are years later, it is arguably the best deck in modern
@dawnedeclipse FoW is what's keeping legacy in check and keeping combo honest. If you remove force of will from the format, legacy will probably just...die. And FoW is all about card disadvantage, you're trading 2 cards to counter their 1.
@bld456 I can understand why they would ban Mental Misstep. I just wish WotC wouldn't have teased us with that card if it was going to end up being ban.
@bboy32167 LoL I guess, but I just loved how aggressive Mental Misstep was. It felt like having another FoW in my deck. Maybe that's why they banned it. (._.)
@dawnedeclipse Mental misstep made it impossible to run stupid full aggro decks as a cheap alternative to getting a legacy deck. I played my kuldotha red (which is standard and can often win on turn 3 if it gets the chance) and couldn't be competitive due to this card. If only FoW were allowed in these competitions, if would be simpler to run these cheap decks which have a chance of undercutting your opponent's slower but generally more powerful shape anew deck (or w/e) with impunity.
@KerosAohco Merfolk was a major player before mental misstep was ever printed, and it will still be after the bannings. @dawnedeclipse Unlike FoW, mental misstep is a 1 for 1.
@bboy32167I play legacy a fair amount, i dont play myself out to be some pro kid who knows everything but i know quite a bit about magic and its environment, and mental misstep was a good change but a huge impact on legacy. Just as FoW is, but FoW has been here longer. the difference is FoW is blatently better and more destructive to combo based decks. it makes no sense to stop their mana ramping (I.E. dark rit, rite of flames) or other card finders, whereas you could stop the actual combo.
@dawnedeclipse FoW is amazing but it has a heavy cost. Misstep is a one for one that creates tempo , makes some decks almost unplayable, and doesn't require much skill to play correctly, unlike FoW, which requires thought.
All these comments about how FoW should be banned make me laugh. You better be joking. If FoW was banned, the format would be all about Goblin Charbelcher and that's not really a fun format.
I stopped caring about Modern when they Banned UR Combo decks. Pyromancer Ascension was my favourite standard deck ever (as well as most UR combo decks). When I heard modern would allow me to play it again I was super excited. Then they banned half the deck (rite being banned fine but the draw engine banned is retarded...) and now I don't give a shit. GG wotc.
So we ban mental misstep and not force of will? FoW has been running legacy for the past decade, no matter what turn it is you have to think of the chances of finding a FoW and if its worth trading that card for a coutner, crappy blue card and 1 life. Mental misstep shook up legacy, but in a good way and we ban it. And yet a card that rules the format with an iron fist is just soaring in prices, Come on wotc, think about it.
I just don't get all this hate towards Extended. It's nothing like Modern (less interesting, don't get me wrong), and I'd rather play Extended all season long rather than Standard. At least, my card are worth something more than 10 months...
They should ban Fow in legacy, the card is to expensive and it ruins the formant. Sure duals are also but you can just use ravnica lands its basically the same.
How about a Legacy Pro Tour?
The tried and true response from someone who has NEVER played legacy.

Past 2 vids, TSG's mic seems too low and I can't hear what he is saying sometimes. Can't hear him say "Mental Misstep" at 11:13. GIVE THE MAN A VOICE!
Is there a list of banned cards for modern?
LOL! "Dredge audited that tournament"
How do I get the shirt LSV is wearing?
@mtgsean or how about how many times he says "ya know"?

@YoshiOfADown bannings do not prevent degenerate decks. they prevent stagnation of the game and of wizards income from pack purchases of newer sets.
I think it's really funny how they talk about how Splinter twin might not be a good deck after the bannings, and how here we are years later, it is arguably the best deck in modern
Here we are a year after and it's banned
You WANT belcher and other combo decks to rule legacy? Those generally cost a lot of money, too.
@dawnedeclipse FoW is what's keeping legacy in check and keeping combo honest. If you remove force of will from the format, legacy will probably just...die. And FoW is all about card disadvantage, you're trading 2 cards to counter their 1.
Haha, "Dredge audited the tournament"

Darksteel Humphrey needs to be a card.
@KerosAohco now high tide on the other hand may make a comeback (snapcaster mage)

@gamegeek2 That is not gonna happen. Wizards are not gonna have a pro tour that they can't improve the card accessability to
@KilliaK snapcaster is not broken
i am a viewer so i need to comment on where i am down the line, my mom loves me now!
Mental Misstep is being banned in Legacy?! @#$% there goes my Merfolk deck.
magic is turning into yugioh
Bloopers next time please
Looking at some old videos, LSV used to be so fat! He's lost so much weight!
the host needs to speek up i cant hear him
@Makotousaki When in doubt, Google.
All these comments about how FoW should be banned make me laugh. You better be joking. If FoW was banned, the format would be all about Goblin Charbelcher and that's not really a fun format.
@trysephiroth007 More people will play combo but the decks won't be as powerful without Mystical Tutor
I stopped caring about Modern when they Banned UR Combo decks. Pyromancer Ascension was my favourite standard deck ever (as well as most UR combo decks).

a lot of the bannings in Modern were stupid choices, I don't even like mordern now
LSV lost a lot of weigh . good job!

@Pandamic0602 Really? Last I checked Yugioh is dominated by degenerate decks, which the bannings in MTG aim to stop.
I just don't get all this hate towards Extended. It's nothing like Modern (less interesting, don't get me wrong), and I'd rather play Extended all season long rather than Standard. At least, my card are worth something more than 10 months...
How long will it thake for Snapcaster to be banned?
3,4 months?
@dawnedeclipse No deck in legacy runs crappy blue cards, there you go.
bann power 9 ! Ow why not?
poos and wees
Damn, first view..
