Everyone's talking about how much SNAPPIER the new Colt King Cobra is compared to a 4" GP-100 or 686, WELL YEAH! Smaller gun, smaller weight, smaller cylinder, overall mass. The Ruger GP-100 4" is 40oz., the Smith 686 4" is 39.7oz., and the Colt King Cobra is only 36oz. It's in an intermediate frame size class of it's own, which is one of the things that make it such a great carry gun.
@@OBNXS1 very true. But then again I shoot Super Redhawk .44 mag all day and it doesn't bother me, the smaller Colt 4.25" .357 is a non-issue. Not too many pistols bother me 100 rds or less
Thanks for your 3 video’s with the Colt King Cobra Target 🙏🏾 I’ve owned mine since summer of ‘21 - love it - but do get intimidated once my knuckle gets busted shooting 150 grain magnum rounds. I de-bured the trigger guard (suggested by a speed shooter) and wrap the knuckle if not shooting 38’s You’ve prompted / inspired me to reshape the grips, which I did considerably yesterday. I made a shallow divot where my shooting hand thumb lies and created a LOT of room for the scarred middle finger knuckle. I’ve probably put 1,500 rounds through this Colt and can’t wait to run the next box… Thanks again.
Just a curiosity not trying to start a fire storm but theoretically if you had to draw that in a self-defense situation would you cock the hammer or would you fire from double action
If I was drawing for self defense, it would be double action. If I was trying to stop something and had the wherewithal to do it, I’d probably cock the hammer for the precision shot.
Awesome gun bro Have you ever had a problem with the cylinder not locking up or out of time rotation cylinder any info will appreciate it Just recently bought the 3” version this cobras 🐍 look awesome 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
My god its so beautiful ! Do you have issues with it ? i see alot of people have issue with the new phyton, I looking to buy this Colt King Cobra target its so beautiful.
@@OBNXS1 thanks, I am familiar with snap caps, I always hear not too dry fire certain guns and was curious about this one in particular. Of course I like keeping live ammo in my gun for home protect. But for testing action and potential buying one I wanted to make sure. I always ask the owner before I dry fire anything. I do like your reviews, close up and personal!
Beautifull fucken gun man. I was so torn between that 4 inch and the 3 inch. I baught the 3 in which doesnt have that problem You have with the knuckle hittin the trigger gaurd due to the hogue grips. Maybe wit a set of diffirent grips you can solve that problem

Of course. But if someone doesn’t have all of them to compare, they might want to know if it’s snappier.

@@OBNXS1 Just don't try to expect the King Cobras to handle full power loads better than its heavier, bigger framed competitors.
Just got my colt king cobra target model. Love it.
Thanks for the videos
Mine racks my middle finger knuckle pretty good; how is yours?
I like the sound when you occasionally hit the steel.
I like the sound when you occasionally shut up.
Yeah for someone who has that kind of access to a shooting range his aim was shit.
@Liverpool 11 I'm in the shit hole state of Maryland surrounded by neighbors. Saving up though for a house with a big piece of land in NC.
Tactical Crusader anxiously awaiting your range video.
@@sharkcane2501 just because I don't feel like posting videos doesn't mean I can't shoot better than this.

Nice. Sounds like you’ve got it headed in the right direction. That’s a TON of rounds through a wheel gun!

Very very nice!! “Got It!”
Different grip options would fix your knuckle busting problem. I put Pachmayrs on mine and solved the problem in like 1 minute.
You swapped out the Altamont grips for Pachmayrs?
@@OBNXS1 Yup! Rubber is better than wood for grip and absorbing recoil
Did you have to do any fitting on pachmayr's to get proper fit?
@@joeyates1428 NO fit on perfect. Its the same Colt D frame.
...so would a pair of shooting gloves. Which, incidentally are the best thing for prolonged range sessions, instead of gouging out the hand grips. 🙁
I'm hoping Colt will reintroduce the Python in 2020...seems like they're working up to it.
Chris Petersen me too. I’ll be at SHOT Show so I’m hoping it’s there.
@@OBNXS1 > Let's also hope they bring it back properly, and don't cut corners...I kinda grew up with the old S&W /Colt revolvers.

No issues at all. But I haven't put a ton of rounds through it.

I looking to buy this Colt King Cobra target its so beautiful.
The only issue I had was dinging my knuckles on the trigger guard. I'll be at SHOT Show next week so I'll get hands on a Python.
I doubt you've ever hit the broad side at all.
I love my 686 for a revolver it rocks :)
It's by far the smoothest revolver trigger I have in the collection.
@@OBNXS1 oops it is my 586 that i like the the best not the 686, the 568 is the rock star of my revolvers!
Ordered one yesterday
Awesome. Let me know what you think.
Is it ok to dry fire this new Colt king cobra target?
Yes, most modern firearms are safe to dry fire. That said, it doesn’t hurt to get a set of Snap Caps.

I think a better undercut would take care of it.
@@OBNXS1 true . but an easy fix would be to change the grips. I doubt it colt is goin to fix that problem for you 🤣
I’m kind of a big deal though.
Damn hand canon !
Nah, just a little plinker. 😉
I like that one 👍
Rich Ki. It’s a nice little wheelgun.
What? I was waiting for the "go home" line
Go home.
@@OBNXS1 thank you, now it is complete
Use the hand that’s not pulling the trigger to cock the hammer 🤦♂️
See you adjust your grip every time you double action that gun, the grip does not fit you, get something else
I was shooting 357 Magnum from a fairly light 4" revolver...more power to you if it doesn't move in your grip.
Man, don't worry about trying to save ANYBODY'S life with that shooting bud. Just kidding. Got to jab you a little bit

You sure shake a lot.
Because I’m all hopped up on caffeine and skittles

No I conquered that with my opioid addiction.
Learn to shoot double action.the way the revolver was ment to shoot

Bad grip.
Nah, grips are nice they just need a little better undercut
