Not to mention typically billionaires are not stupid people. If these keyboard warriors have thought about what they perceive as flaws, they have as well. In the event of a nuclear, biological or chemical weapons attack, just how many of them will get that far looking to locate, compromise, breach and take over bunkers. If they try, they will die in anguish.
Seems like the perfect con tho. These builders could promise the world; but if it's the apocalypse, what're you gonna do? Call customer service and ask for the manager?
The thing is, if society collapses, and we end up nuking each other, then those going into their bunkers are going in for life, they won't be coming out from them in their lifetimes, to a brave new world because the world would be f*cked. So, you're going into your own coffin, where you will die in them.
Also, how many of these bunkers need the outside world for air filtration, or have ducts, and vents to the outside world ? Because if they do, it wouldn't take much from those on the outside, to make life difficult for those inside.
And finally, all that luxury, and money they have would be worthless in a dead world. Just like all those classic cars, and large TVs, gold, etc... these rich people will die alongside all that wealth.
Bigger question is why are all these billionaires building in Hawaii..?
And imagine what the survivors are going to do to you, if you ever come out of the bunker!
What are they going to teach their kids about the underground people?
It would be a baaad day for a billionaire, watching on their security cameras as people back up a truck into their only exit and seal them in with concrete!
A waste of money. If something happens they won’t be close enough to get into it. And I don’t think it will ever happen. And the rich people would cause it. Because there should be equal wealth worldwide to make sure it will never happen.
Building a bunker so far from the mainland (assuming one lives in the US) seems like a foolish endeavor because what guarantee do you have that you can get on a plane or ship to get to hawaii or new zealand? The only way this makes sense to me is that they would know ahead of time that they need this doomsday retreat. Think of something like an emp blast or having a functional runway system to get from point A to point B.
Plus id never in hell want to rely on solar and wind for energy alone... you surely want s disel generator as a backup at least becuase if there is some kind of nuclear apocalypse sun light may be an issue.
Then theres the security aspect. Imtalking about the men who will be armed and guarding the place. If society is hopeless doomed your prior wealth isnt going to matter. The physically strong and capable will survive and could simply become the master in such a scenairo. If i had the means id have a bunch of disel fuel to run a generator and have several backups aside from having silar and wind... but id also not focus so much on luxury and id damn sure worry about not being able to get those blast doors to re open.
The really paranoid bilionares have multiple bunkers tailored for multiple situations. For starters a "wine cellar" at their main residence if armagedon sneaks up on them. Something in the US so its easier to get to. Something far away if the US goes to shit etc. Hell the really paranoid ones are even prepped for natural disasters of biblical proportions like lets say a compound high in the mountains in case of mega tsunamis.
So the people who started the war will survive it🤣

my family bought a mountain in the late 80’s in rural southern oregon. Fresh spring water, hours from town, 2 Community buildings and 3 dual shower baths. These things are attainable, land is always worth the debt.

For these guys, a bunker is a form of insurance, and they can easily afford it, so why not? As I've gotten older and accumulated more wealth myself, I understand more and more why stupid expensive things exist - because, why not? If your net worth is 140 billion, spending $140 million is like a normal millionaire spending $1000. It's not but it's on the level of 'hey, I wanted it, so I splurged and bought it'. If you had more money than you knew what to do with, why wouldn't you build a bunker? You'd be stupid not to. It might never get used, but so what, you had more money than you knew what to do with anyway.
They're still only going to live so long so what's the point?
