Facts!
To clarify, Yipes:
Every single version of the games in this collection are all CONFIRMED to be the Arcade Versions, NOT the Console Ports.
On their website, they even tell you the EXACT ROM that they're using for each game, if you wanna look into how those ROMs play and how they feel.
I appreciate them straight up giving the ROM versions on the site
capcom is winning over with this, they better keep doing it.

So wait...the MvC2 Arcade *isn't* the best version? I always thought that the arcades were always better. How is the Dreamcast "port" of this arcade game more perfect than the arcade version?

Yes, the Arcade Version IS the Best Version.
The Dreamcast Version was just the closest thing we had to the arcade version for the longest time that people got so accustomed to it.
My favorite thing about this update is the new Cyclops and Ryu handshake.
My boy went from: "Hey. How are you?" to "WHAT'S GOOD, RYU?!"
The art work goes hard though.

Not only that. The face to face artwork of Doom and Bison goes dumb as well. And Thanos and Akuma chilling on the sidelines.
The Punisher was the first Collab between Capcom and Marvel so it makes sense that it's in here

Not seeing Yipes show off his MVC2 skills to the youngins is crimes against humanity. When i got to checkign out chinatown fair it was around 2009/10 near its original end. Loved the hype seeing OG's on the cabinets. MVC2 at evo 2025. Come on peeps!

X-Men vs SF was my JAM back in the day. Would spend hours at the arcade in CHI China Town playing it. Will never forget the day a 60 something year old dude in a big a$$ White Sox jacket came in, cooked everyone for like an hour, and just left. never saw him again

this is big news, not because you can play these games on modern consoles... but because some "licensing" issues have been taken care of and people can host official tournaments, maybe even stream without fear of DMCA. Its still gonna be played on Dreamcast overall... so hopefully these updates gets more people playing.
They showed the rom version on the website along with additional changes! It appears that unfortunately we're getting the arcade version, but surely that can't actually be the dealbreaker.
It may become the standard to play online but it means it will never replace Dreamcast for offline tournaments (that aren’t on cab).
@@otterdonnelly9959 idk, if side tournaments in places like combo breaker and Evo start using it, could become the new standard just for being more accessible.
This version will probably become the new standard since not everyone can pull up with a dreamcast... most people have a ps4 and/or switch though

@@phypesmash6154 most offline tournaments been using Dreamcasts forever. Idk what you mean, newly hosted ones? DC standard at any serious tournament worth anything. People have been fine making that effort.

Alright, glad i'm not alone on the Nintendo Switch.
Just feels like it's good to get it on there for the future if it ever get delisted + the box and cart is easier for storage.

And toggle between their original OST’s and Arranged OST’s
(PS2 Arranged 3rd Strike OST is highly underrated)
(SF3: New Generation Arranged Album is also highly underrated/under-appreciated)
Ability to play stages/theme-songs from NG, 2i, or 3s, in the other entries.
For example:
Playing WIDESCREEN 3rd Strike, on Elena’s 2i “Night Bridge” stage with that dope “Tomboy” song. Or widescreen 3rd Strike, on Elena’s New Generation “Day Bridge” stage, with the “Tomboy [huge side]” remix from the SFIII: New Generation Arranged Album.
Or WIDESCREEN 3rd Strike, on Necro’s 2i train lab stage, with that dope DNB song.

getting all these games released on console officially for the first time as well as being able to buy msh, mvc1, and mvc2 on a physical collection, and having them on a portable and nintendo console for the first time are all so good. it being announced now when we still don't know what capcom has to show off at evo makes it feel like a good time to be alive

Old School Vs. New School is really the dub here. They all lowkey stopped playin' while we picked it up
4:10 its not the DC version of MvC2, its the NA & JP arcade versions. I don't think they would do enhanced versions of the games, because they didn't use the superior 360/PS3 port of 3rd Strike (Online Edition) for their Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection. they only used the arcade versions. for whatever reason the Street Fighter Collection versions of their games all had 1 additional frame of input lag, which was very noticeable & made 3rd Strike 30th Anniversary inferior to the 3rd Strike Online Edition. Hopefully thats not the case here in this collection also.

I don't imagine that this would be formally implemented, but I'd like to see some sort of category for lobbies that we could use specifically for ratio/low-tier battles. "Restricted" or something like that.
Going to buy a physical and steam download.

You're a big help to this cause, too. Did you know that? You kept the game alive by playing tournaments in one of your relatives' house. You streamed a lot of tournaments from Twitch to keep interest invested. Your phrases like "Scoops, Haagen-Dazs, Curleh Mustache," and others coming from your very mouth helped create a fighting game vernacular that is unique to the Marvel series. You are, and always will be, a Marvel god and its savior. It's Mahvel, Baby!

The MvC news took me by suprise. What's funny is that on the same day, i was thinking about MvC2 and wishing for a fight collection just like the last ones. When i saw the news, i jumped up and down in excitement because i could finally play MvC2; i hadn't experienced it before back then, i would see the arcade cabinets in malls. I am going to play the life of this collection.

One of the first things I thought about when I saw the announcement was "I can't wait to see Yipes cooking in MvC2 again" I know the tournament scene is going to really pop off for this game again and it has the potential to be even bigger now than it was back in it's old peak.
That American Gladiators theme had me! 😂. But it's the arcade version of all games. But I'm sure there may be a way to up the speed like in the Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection.

Think of how Street Fighter 2 turbo HD Remix revived interest in fighting games and that snowballed into Capcom giving u SFIV, then MVC3 and the rest is history. There's also the renewed interest in X-men 92 thanks to the tv series and these games definitely hit different when you are an actual comic fan.
There's an opportunity here for sure and one of the good things about these titles is we know there's no DLC scandals or balancing scandals so as long as the online works well I'm sure the next generation can get into the Capcom Marvel fighters.
