    The chick on MSNBC is so infuriating 😡 I too am a recovering addict and she is absolutely gaslighting. Either that or she still doesn't understand addiction. The last thing a father who loves their son and wants to see him get better would do is send their addicted son to Ukraine, no shortage of drugs there, where he will be making millions. Addicts need consequences. With no consequences it is harder for an addict to see the unmanageability their disease is causing. I do not believe jail is the answer but neither is letting addicts die in the streets in the name of compassion. I think an addict should always be given the option of treatment first, but if they refuse then they are choosing jail.
    Also, if hunter is really in recovery than he should understand that this is the cost of his addiction. Do you have any idea how hard so many addicts work to climb out of the wreckage of their using? It's insulting to act like hunter is in anyway being treated unfairly. If he is being honest about being in recovery, he should certainly understand this. The thing is, people aren't attacking him because of his addiction, they are attacking the fact that, once again, the Dems are lying straight to our faces and they're finally being called out. Oh and Biden's corruption is a big part of a too. Does anyone believe that Hunter got this Ukraine job purely based on merit?

      Well, "substance/alcohol use disorder". According to the 2022 NSDUH survey, of American adults aged 26+, 23 million (10.4%) had an alcohol use disorder in the past year, and 18.9 million (8.5%) a drug use disorder. You could argue that (say) a marijuana use disorder is not addiction. So, she is exggerating.

    • @jmerced
      @jmerced 3 місяці тому

      I think the judge was the one that rejected / caught on to the sweetheart deal. This is significant because Joe biden's Department of Justice was trying to sweep everything under the rug nice and quiet and got caught. He was getting a favor that other people just don't receive. When his wrongs are brought in front of a jury, he gets convicted. There was a major attempt to not ever have to have him see a courtroom. These are the problems that most people have with this case. The system is weaponized against everyone else but not those in power. Look no further than his financial crimes which also almost got swept under the rug. The entire thing stinks.

    • @GML_123.

  • @trumanhw
    @trumanhw 3 місяці тому +1

    As well as Glenn just explained it-it's still even worse: Hunter's charges were arbitrarily limited to the favorable terms of the plea agreement, which provided a reduced penalty for voluntarily accepting responsibility. However, when Hunter declined the agreement, the more serious offenses that would typically be pursued should have been reinstated. Yet, the expired plea deal continued to shield Hunter from legal consequences, despite Hunter's voluntary rejection of the agreement, which should have resulted in the reinstatement of all charges. Even in cases where duplicative charges [are] dropped, the most severe offense, known as the "top line offense," is always pursued. Nevertheless, the most serious crimes were not reinstated, despite the defendant's rejection of the plea bargain.

    Can someone verify whether the claim about no jail time for the gun charge on first time offenders is actually true? I realize the Federal Sentencing Guidelines use a point system, and just adding up the maximum possible sentence for each count is just lazy media nonsense, but I'd be very surprised if there aren't a whole lot of poor people in federal prison serving several year sentences for gun charges.
