I hope Titan Havik’s goal is to either corrupt the realms into Chaos, or set up the idea he is the one responsible for all the invasion seasons. He is the one pushing the other realms into open warfare because it create a multiverse of a chaos. Sort of like how we have the Nightmare multiverse in DC but less edgy and more “what if the multiverse was true anarchy and chaos with warfare eternal” ?

I always thought that Havik should be a genuine wild card & a truly neutral party. Someone who joins with anyone whether good or bad if it means chaos will happen. He should be a fun character on screen.
In his first apearence in MK Deception Havik wasn't even a bad guy, just some weird dude who encourage others to be as chaotic as he is. And I still love this about him. He would happily teach the ways of chaos to anyone who asks for it and will try to free the realms from any form of opression, either conceptual or palpable.
I have to respectfully disagree. Havik is very much a "bad guy." Sure he'll help end oppression, bring down tyrannical rulers and such, but he doesn't do it because it's the right thing or to help people. He just hates order and stability. He'll just as easily promote wars (the bigger and bloodier the better), sabotage attempts at peace, help serial killers elude justice etc, all of which cause suffering.
I genuinely love that when Chaosrealm regularly invades the Orderrealm, it's not for anything political, it's not for any form of conquest or revolution... they're just there to fuck up the irrigation system because water is the most sacred form of absolute chaos and orderrealm has zero uncontrolled water. It's both hilarious and interesting.
Havik was all about unpredictability. The only thing that made him "different" to the rest in his realm is, since he is the Cleric and is basically "spreading the word", he will use more common social societal norms to introduce others to Chaos. One of the most notable things is that when you see him in Deception or Armageddon in cinematics, he speaks with a painfully soft voice, and you clearly didn't expect it. Everything about him is meant to catch you off guard even in little ways. He joins up with the heroes strictly because if Onaga wins, he will revive the One Being and end all chaos in a final ultimate "order". His ending has Onaga slain but in the process, the heroes have banded together ever more tightly, creating order and so he needs to disrupt it. In this, Havik should always be a lone wolf and NEVER a 'big bad" or "big good". Havik is Chaos, he is unpredictability. Havik should be someone that good or bad, you're NERVOUS when he's around because you don't know if he's for or against what you're doing. Also, making him Dairou in M1K is one of the most confusing things ever. Dairou was one of my favorite character, the implication that he was once friends with Hotaru and that Hotaru likely personally sentenced him. It is fitting that he is a powerful assassin and has an honorable vendetta against Hotaru, showing the idea of an Seido Warrior not constrained by the rules of order. I have no issue with Dairou embracing Chaos, but then he should still be Dairou, not Havik, nor should he look like Havik. And something that "makes no sense" is no excuse for bad writing, even for someone like Havik as being truly chaotic requires abstract thinking, something this square shaped "big bad" plotline can't deal with.
The Reiko accords in this version would be that Reiko was one of the generals didn't corrupt (we'll say that like in M1K he was an orphan during one of Shao Kahn's conquests and taken in by the soldiers, that they forced him to keep his temper under control and if not, beat it out of him) and would personally witness Mileena's shortened temper and the in fighting between the ranks and would alongside Rain report this to earthrealm, so if even if it's his enemies he'll have some allies against Havik, and he died in the final battle so the peace signing get named after him
One of my favourite bits of Havik is that in one of the endings, Kabal turns on him and he’s impressed by it. He’s just so nonplussed about everything. Reality is like a snow globe to him and he just wants to shake it a bunch.
Havik should be the most interesting character to write. Yet somehow NRS manages to keep going with the most generic and boring route for him (fingers crossed for M1K DLC story XD)
M1K's Havik hurt as a Havik fan. And his stuff outside of the story mode is far more like the Havik we knew. Dude rips his own head off and presents so you can look at some gear. That's the Havik I want.

The thing about Havik that gets me - mostly MK1 - is it feels like the writers fundamentally don't get what anarchism actually entails and conflates it into the common conservative archetype of "anarchism is when no rules and anybody can murder whoever". If you're gonna write an anarchist character, you could at least ATTEMPT to understand what anarchists actually believe.
It is though. All the libertarians and anarcho-whatevers are just trying to have their cake and eat it too by preaching freedom from government interference but only under the rule of their specific moralities. It's like how leftists preach tolerance but will dogpile you for wrongthink.
I think Hotaru should have been the antagonist of the Mortal Kombat x comics because he's all about order and rules. Also, we can also explore how the governments of the order realm is a structural way that takes rights away from the people and it values order above anything else.
Having Hotaru being the control freak, which would kind of be unnerving since he would absolutely put a stop to chaos in the name of the law. I could see other characters would stop him, but not kill him since any of them would try to convince him to loosen up a bit. I think.
There's a unspoken trend with MK characters who were neutral-aligned in the original Midway continuity being made straight up good or evil from the start in the Netherrealm games and several of the adaptations. Including, but not limited to, Nitara, Hotaru, Darrius, Scorpion (Hanzo), Bi-Han (pre-Noob Saibot), and Havik himself. Why is Netherrealm erasing neutrality from the equation? Edit: Oh, I forgot Dairou, who's the New Era Havik, for some reason.
We ain’t gonna see Titan Havik again. The last two end of game scenes meant nothing. Dark Raiden at the end of MKX was undone in chapter two of 11, and we didn’t get anything about The Great Kung Lao in M1K that was promised in 11.

I do think we lost a lot of charm by making Havik exclusively a villain. I always got the sense in the old canon he genuinely believed what he was doing to be correct but he was so insane and warped that he couldn't see how his vision wasn't universal to everyone. Honestly still one of my favorite characters from the PS2 Era. Good to see you making a video on him.
I’m going to tell you about Havik: Havik isn’t a good nor a bad guy he chaotic Netural. He normally ally himself with the heroes & villain to further his own cause. Havik's personality is that of a lovable troll with a goofy, wacky, and humorous demeanor. He embraces chaos and anarchy, disliking order, dictators, governments, rulers, and tyrants. Despite his mischievous nature, he often aligns himself with both heroes and villains to further his own cause, showcasing his unpredictable alliances. Havik takes pleasure in causing mayhem, and his dialogues include backward speech, adding an enigmatic touch to his character. His idle animations involve picking at his face, and even when hit, he expresses pleasure rather than pain. Overall, Havik is a charismatic and unpredictable character who finds joy in disrupting the established order.

Havik is one of my favorite MK characters. They straight up made less interesting than Megan Fox Nitara and gave him a dumb haircut on top of that. It's not hard to write or design Havik.
Personally I'm hoping that, with the new backstory given to Havik by fusing him with Dairou, is that Seido is actually the Chaosrealm but made unrecognizable by Hotaru. I'm currently writing a short story about how Havik and Dairou uncover this secret by having Dariou fuse with the Kamidogu of the realm and learning of its past. (Hotaru being a chaosrealmer himself with freakish powers that he keeps hidden with nanotechnology.)
I love Havik in the 3d era, and I guess it's because there's so little of him that sets him up for mystery, but I mainly love his face. The way half his face is ridden of flesh and his eyes glow as if he's some kind of Skeletor adjacent creature. I always look at him and go "How did it get to this point?" but in a way where I'm laughing about it, 'cause what did bro do to his face? I hope Titan Havik will be a great break from the cartoonish evil that is Shao Kahn and the others. Knowing nrs they'll probably screw it up, but fingers crossed.
In my opinion, they should've fused Havik with Darrius in M1K instead and have Dairou as a kameo. He first works for Havik, but over the course of the game, he starts to realize his master's insanity and join the good guys to stop him. Not only does it redeem Dairou, but it also makes use of Darrius, who ..... didn't do much in both timelines. He was just in Konquest of Deception before the main event happened, later joined the battle of Armageddon, and that's it.
A few days ago a new MK Onslaught update was released. So basically, they almost gave us a good Bi-Han and Kuai Liang story about Bi-Han becoming himself again. Guess what they did? Pulled out the "I was always evil" shit. If you can, please make a Wasted Plotential video about Classic Sub-Zero Khronicles.
They couldve done so much with him but they instead they reset him. Now i feel everything we will see is havik getting to where he was before the original timeline ended. I doubt we will ever see him do cool villain stuff that we havent seen before

Personally I'm expecting him to be revealed to be the reason for the Invasions mode, him secretly luring the timelines to attack one another, robbing multiple timelines of leader figures as they constantly slaughter reach other. They might not reveal that to be the case but I think it would be a cool way to do it
With M1K I am more disappointed in his personality. The writers got rid of the great contrast of a Cleric of Chaos who is completely chill in personality and now just made angry bone face man. One of Havik's fun qualities is he was really calm and collected which is not what you expect from a Cleric of Chaos. Now he comes off like he is grumpy about everything all the time... oh and he has a bone face. I feel like even the mutilation could have been his own doing in service to his faith in chaos. Like it was his rite of passage into the clerical hierarchy so he had to self inflict. Instead he gets his face dipped in I think it was molten gold which would have just killed him.
honestly this wasted plotential could even connect back to the kuai lang one, maybe at 1st before the mkx comics he is willing to save smoke like he was and willing to work with raiden (even if they don't necessarily get along) but the event of the comics caused by havik cause him to stop caring about smoke and causes him to hate raiden and to be distant from the other heroes

Remind me one thing. Why Titan Havik is not main antagonist in MK1? I mean, doesn't final battle fit more to him, than Shang Tsung? He could've been mastermind, who was behind all of events, during story; all this for Armageddon.
For all it's issues, Havik does have one incredible bit of characterization in the MKX comic. When he's trying to force Hanzo to turn into Scorpion, but Hanzo refuses and succumbs to his wounds, Takeda and Havik have some exchange to the effect of: "No matter how hard you push him, Hanzo will never give in!" "Well then... I guess he's a true agent of chaos, after all!" I think Havik should 100% be the kind of guy who is just perpetually in a good mood, especially if things don't go his way or according to plan, since his whole philosophy isn't necessarily anarchy, but more of some radical libertarianism: "Nothing should be set in stone, everything needs to be allowed to flow along its own path, because that's how life flourishes."
I think this issue comes from the developers/writers taking only once glance at the character and completely ignoring his neutral, must more interesting attributes from the older games because of his evil looks. I'm sure this isn't the only reason, but I definitely feel like it's one of them.
Hear me out what if they do a crisis on infinite earths mk edition, with havik being like an anti-monitor type of threat. My suspicion is that titan havik is an anomaly from all timelines because he can never die, he is the physical embodiment of mortal kombat. Let’s just say if the heroes kill havik then all of mk dies. He Is the main villain of lui kangs timeline and i love it.
With how many characters they have, trying to squeeze in a fair balance of story for all characters for the short but cinematic campaigns NRS makes is a very difficult task. I think they could benefit from side-plots starting in earlier games while making them pay off later because all we get is plots starting and finishing in the same game. Making them stretch out could help side characters get a good and memorable part of our new timeline if NRS does this.

Havik really left me dissapointed in MK1. Idk why but I think Characters like Havik and Nitara should be Wild cards that would be considered powerful allies matched by their untrustworthiness in the eyes of nearly every realm. Nitara as a Rebel leader but also someone who's main goal is to Revine Vaternus at all costs which would lead to a plague across the universe in the terms of hungry vampires. While Havik and the ChaosRealms war with the order Realm and his desire for Chaos across all realms would truly leave him as someone who neither side could ever fully trust but the the Orderrealm would be so hated by other realms due to Order realms habit of stepping into other realms uncalled for would lead to Chaos Realm as the rival to combat them.
Funnily enough, NRS has shown they understand the idea of someone needing constant chaos, in the form of Ares in Injustice, another underutilized NRS character, except he actually does something! He helps the heroes stop Superman because he has grown weak from the lack of war. He feeds off of chaos and is thus neutral in terms of how he wants to achieve his goals. Havik could’ve been something like that instead of generic bad guy.
I think one thing missing from mk1 havik that I don’t hear people complain about much is his voice and mannerisms mk1 havik is a try hard who yells all the time in mk deception he talks in a very calm voice he doesn’t sound crazy he sounds like a normal guy which makes his actions and the things he says come off even crazier than if he was super aggro all the time I think the biggest difference in midway havik and nrs havik is that if kabal betrayed nrs havik like he did to midway havik in his non-canon ending while midway havik was impressed nrs havik would be furious
FINALLY!!! A guy who pronounces the name of the Shirai Ryu correctly!! It really ticks me off how in the games they always mispronounce the "Ryu" part of the name as "Rye-you", its so irritating!
wasted plotential: blaze and the rage mechanic You can bring back the idea of characters getting possessed and becoming overtly hostile and over powered because the spirit of Blaze has ceaseless wandering vengeful spectre, similar to the original scorpion. Liu-Kang has kept the timeline continuing but he is not a master of what those souls do, so when Blaze is invoked by Shang-tsung's temple, he is still looking for a warrior to best him. You can even have the player character control these characters and at the end the player controls the final boss Blaze and in a similar style to shadow of the colossus, easily gets beaten. But if you can cheese the game and win as Blaze you unlock him as an oversized ninja similar to a goro or kintaro.
Havik is one of those characters who was truly a great design all around. The cleric of chaos who just messes with everyone and everything. A really interesting character and could have been a real threat had MK1 not totally neuter the character from what we've seen. Titan Havik better be the real deal tbh, I'm kinda tired of NRS neutering all the cool characters

My opinion is instead of NRS playing up Joker, Havik should've been what they did with Joker, gave him Epcar as a VA, and made him the big bad of MK1/12, given the way the story went anyway
Havik certainly represents one of the things I liked the most from the Midway Era. The series didn't only focus on good and evil, many were neutral in nature. I was worried he would lose that aspect if he was to return and all signs seem to be pointing towards that being the case. I mean, for crying out loud, Havik wants the same thing Kronika wanted, except we know why Havik wants balance while several years later, we are no closer to knowing why Kronika wanted it. Maybe Havik would've been better as the main bad guy instead of Kronika in MK11. Havik also has a reason for not immediately killing his opponents. He'd get more chaos to spread by keeping them alive after all. He'd also have a reason to bring in past versions of defeated fighters. It's just that his powers are nothing like Kronika's. Maybe if the hourglass was an ancient artifact that was discovered by Havik and in finding it, it grants the finder the powers to wield it? That would allow Havik to slip into Kronika's role more easily. It also has the extra benefit of not pushing stupid Titan nonsense in the MK series. Shinnok is a useless head now which bummed Havik out, he needed to find a new big bad to keep the conflict going so he merged past with present thanks to his new powers. Stuff like that....
Did they ever explain how havik got his powers to rip himself apart and regenerate in mk1's story? I don't remember it ever being explained at any point. He gets his face burned by scorpion and that's it. They retconed him so he's no longer a chaos realmer so it's not like it's just an ability his race has.
I honestly find Havik, and by proxy chaosrealmers, to be the perfect character to write. This is someone who has little to no standards, abides by no rules, and has no proper label/definition; Physics mean nothing to him, time means nothing to him, DEATH means nothing to him. At the same time, he also exists as a walking contradiction not only for everything but also himself; the logical and the illogical; the thesis and antithesis; the everything and the nothing; the creator and the destroyer. HE LITERALLY MAKES SENSE AND YET DOESN'T MAKE SENSE. Looking at it this way, ANY action he makes ends up being perfectly in character while also being out of character. PS. It reminds me of an aspect of Hindu culture where one can be everything and it's opposite, case in point the god Shiva showcasing himself to be both a creator and a destroyer.

Darrius and Dairou could’ve been in the main story and assist Havik. This whole Havik is Dairou plot felt weird, like it’s taking something away from Havik
I always wanted Havik back as he was pretty different and had an awesome design. Though the more I played the NRS stories the more I started to be afraid for him and MK1 proved those fears right as they completely changed what made him unique, gave him a lesser design compared to the midway era and basically did fuck all with him. Maybe in the story expansion they will fix this and make him a true character of chaos but NRS keeps proving in every entry that they do not learn. Hell the only thing they did better in MK1 was they fixed Sindel which was a problem they originally created.
Hopefully they do it justice if they move forward with Titan Havik. He really could be a cool bad guy because even villains have a reason to oppose him. I still hope we get DLC Hotaru.
one of the things I question is why was Havik the only Chaos realm representative when all the other realms had at least 3 of em, and we could of had more stuff with that realm if there was more characters from their truly to make Chaos realm interesting like how Order realm despite only having 3 characters from there had something good in it aka the civil war in that realm while in Chaos realm what is there that's interesting besides Havik and the race that lives there? Nothing, If I'm honest their should of been a game that gives importance to Chaos and Order realm so we can get a bigger picture of both sides really more so for Chaos realm so we can learn more of Havik and that realm not a comic that ruins his character just for the sole reason of "we needed someone to fill the big bad role" like if that was the case have that be Reiko with Havik being only to manipulate the guy only and that's it nothing else

Because Kronika sucks and so does the Titan idea so making Havik connected to her would make him even lamer than what they already did. He has also never been portrayed as a god so how would he suddenly be a being above the Elder Gods out of nowhere?

And something that "makes no sense" is no excuse for bad writing, even for someone like Havik as being truly chaotic requires abstract thinking, something this square shaped "big bad" plotline can't deal with.
The Reiko accords in this version would be that Reiko was one of the generals didn't corrupt (we'll say that like in M1K he was an orphan during one of Shao Kahn's conquests and taken in by the soldiers, that they forced him to keep his temper under control and if not, beat it out of him) and would personally witness Mileena's shortened temper and the in fighting between the ranks and would alongside Rain report this to earthrealm, so if even if it's his enemies he'll have some allies against Havik, and he died in the final battle so the peace signing get named after him
One of my favourite bits of Havik is that in one of the endings, Kabal turns on him and he’s impressed by it. He’s just so nonplussed about everything. Reality is like a snow globe to him and he just wants to shake it a bunch.
Havik should be the most interesting character to write. Yet somehow NRS manages to keep going with the most generic and boring route for him (fingers crossed for M1K DLC story XD)

The thing about Havik that gets me - mostly MK1 - is it feels like the writers fundamentally don't get what anarchism actually entails and conflates it into the common conservative archetype of "anarchism is when no rules and anybody can murder whoever". If you're gonna write an anarchist character, you could at least ATTEMPT to understand what anarchists actually believe.

I think Hotaru should have been the antagonist of the Mortal Kombat x comics because he's all about order and rules. Also, we can also explore how the governments of the order realm is a structural way that takes rights away from the people and it values order above anything else.
Having Hotaru being the control freak, which would kind of be unnerving since he would absolutely put a stop to chaos in the name of the law. I could see other characters would stop him, but not kill him since any of them would try to convince him to loosen up a bit. I think.
There's a unspoken trend with MK characters who were neutral-aligned in the original Midway continuity being made straight up good or evil from the start in the Netherrealm games and several of the adaptations.
Including, but not limited to, Nitara, Hotaru, Darrius, Scorpion (Hanzo), Bi-Han (pre-Noob Saibot), and Havik himself.

We ain’t gonna see Titan Havik again. The last two end of game scenes meant nothing. Dark Raiden at the end of MKX was undone in chapter two of 11, and we didn’t get anything about The Great Kung Lao in M1K that was promised in 11.

I do think we lost a lot of charm by making Havik exclusively a villain. I always got the sense in the old canon he genuinely believed what he was doing to be correct but he was so insane and warped that he couldn't see how his vision wasn't universal to everyone. Honestly still one of my favorite characters from the PS2 Era. Good to see you making a video on him.

I'm currently writing a short story about how Havik and Dairou uncover this secret by having Dariou fuse with the Kamidogu of the realm and learning of its past. (Hotaru being a chaosrealmer himself with freakish powers that he keeps hidden with nanotechnology.)

I love Havik in the 3d era, and I guess it's because there's so little of him that sets him up for mystery, but I mainly love his face. The way half his face is ridden of flesh and his eyes glow as if he's some kind of Skeletor adjacent creature. I always look at him and go "How did it get to this point?" but in a way where I'm laughing about it, 'cause what did bro do to his face?
I hope Titan Havik will be a great break from the cartoonish evil that is Shao Kahn and the others. Knowing nrs they'll probably screw it up, but fingers crossed.
Havik's biggest wasted potential is that he was never shipped with Mileena.
In my opinion, they should've fused Havik with Darrius in M1K instead and have Dairou as a kameo. He first works for Havik, but over the course of the game, he starts to realize his master's insanity and join the good guys to stop him. Not only does it redeem Dairou, but it also makes use of Darrius, who ..... didn't do much in both timelines. He was just in Konquest of Deception before the main event happened, later joined the battle of Armageddon, and that's it.

Personally I'm expecting him to be revealed to be the reason for the Invasions mode, him secretly luring the timelines to attack one another, robbing multiple timelines of leader figures as they constantly slaughter reach other. They might not reveal that to be the case but I think it would be a cool way to do it
I hope on future dlcs they give more depth to both havick and sub zero. The look and sound great but I feel they lack bit of personality

The writers got rid of the great contrast of a Cleric of Chaos who is completely chill in personality and now just made angry bone face man.
One of Havik's fun qualities is he was really calm and collected which is not what you expect from a Cleric of Chaos.
Now he comes off like he is grumpy about everything all the time... oh and he has a bone face.
I feel like even the mutilation could have been his own doing in service to his faith in chaos.
Like it was his rite of passage into the clerical hierarchy so he had to self inflict.
Instead he gets his face dipped in I think it was molten gold which would have just killed him.

honestly this wasted plotential could even connect back to the kuai lang one, maybe at 1st before the mkx comics he is willing to save smoke like he was and willing to work with raiden (even if they don't necessarily get along) but the event of the comics caused by havik cause him to stop caring about smoke and causes him to hate raiden and to be distant from the other heroes

For all it's issues, Havik does have one incredible bit of characterization in the MKX comic. When he's trying to force Hanzo to turn into Scorpion, but Hanzo refuses and succumbs to his wounds, Takeda and Havik have some exchange to the effect of:
"No matter how hard you push him, Hanzo will never give in!"
"Well then... I guess he's a true agent of chaos, after all!"
I think Havik should 100% be the kind of guy who is just perpetually in a good mood, especially if things don't go his way or according to plan, since his whole philosophy isn't necessarily anarchy, but more of some radical libertarianism:
"Nothing should be set in stone, everything needs to be allowed to flow along its own path, because that's how life flourishes."
I think this issue comes from the developers/writers taking only once glance at the character and completely ignoring his neutral, must more interesting attributes from the older games because of his evil looks. I'm sure this isn't the only reason, but I definitely feel like it's one of them.

Hear me out what if they do a crisis on infinite earths mk edition, with havik being like an anti-monitor type of threat. My suspicion is that titan havik is an anomaly from all timelines because he can never die, he is the physical embodiment of mortal kombat. Let’s just say if the heroes kill havik then all of mk dies. He Is the main villain of lui kangs timeline and i love it.
With how many characters they have, trying to squeeze in a fair balance of story for all characters for the short but cinematic campaigns NRS makes is a very difficult task. I think they could benefit from side-plots starting in earlier games while making them pay off later because all we get is plots starting and finishing in the same game. Making them stretch out could help side characters get a good and memorable part of our new timeline if NRS does this.

Havik really left me dissapointed in MK1. Idk why but I think Characters like Havik and Nitara should be Wild cards that would be considered powerful allies matched by their untrustworthiness in the eyes of nearly every realm.
Nitara as a Rebel leader but also someone who's main goal is to Revine Vaternus at all costs which would lead to a plague across the universe in the terms of hungry vampires.
While Havik and the ChaosRealms war with the order Realm and his desire for Chaos across all realms would truly leave him as someone who neither side could ever fully trust but the the Orderrealm would be so hated by other realms due to Order realms habit of stepping into other realms uncalled for would lead to Chaos Realm as the rival to combat them.

Funnily enough, NRS has shown they understand the idea of someone needing constant chaos, in the form of Ares in Injustice, another underutilized NRS character, except he actually does something! He helps the heroes stop Superman because he has grown weak from the lack of war. He feeds off of chaos and is thus neutral in terms of how he wants to achieve his goals. Havik could’ve been something like that instead of generic bad guy.

I think one thing missing from mk1 havik that I don’t hear people complain about much is his voice and mannerisms mk1 havik is a try hard who yells all the time in mk deception he talks in a very calm voice he doesn’t sound crazy he sounds like a normal guy which makes his actions and the things he says come off even crazier than if he was super aggro all the time I think the biggest difference in midway havik and nrs havik is that if kabal betrayed nrs havik like he did to midway havik in his non-canon ending while midway havik was impressed nrs havik would be furious

FINALLY!!! A guy who pronounces the name of the Shirai Ryu correctly!! It really ticks me off how in the games they always mispronounce the "Ryu" part of the name as "Rye-you", its so irritating!
wasted plotential: blaze and the rage mechanic
You can bring back the idea of characters getting possessed and becoming overtly hostile and over powered because the spirit of Blaze has ceaseless wandering vengeful spectre, similar to the original scorpion. Liu-Kang has kept the timeline continuing but he is not a master of what those souls do, so when Blaze is invoked by Shang-tsung's temple, he is still looking for a warrior to best him. You can even have the player character control these characters and at the end the player controls the final boss Blaze and in a similar style to shadow of the colossus, easily gets beaten. But if you can cheese the game and win as Blaze you unlock him as an oversized ninja similar to a goro or kintaro.

Havik is one of those characters who was truly a great design all around. The cleric of chaos who just messes with everyone and everything.
A really interesting character and could have been a real threat had MK1 not totally neuter the character from what we've seen.

Havik certainly represents one of the things I liked the most from the Midway Era. The series didn't only focus on good and evil, many were neutral in nature. I was worried he would lose that aspect if he was to return and all signs seem to be pointing towards that being the case.
I mean, for crying out loud, Havik wants the same thing Kronika wanted, except we know why Havik wants balance while several years later, we are no closer to knowing why Kronika wanted it. Maybe Havik would've been better as the main bad guy instead of Kronika in MK11. Havik also has a reason for not immediately killing his opponents. He'd get more chaos to spread by keeping them alive after all. He'd also have a reason to bring in past versions of defeated fighters. It's just that his powers are nothing like Kronika's.
Maybe if the hourglass was an ancient artifact that was discovered by Havik and in finding it, it grants the finder the powers to wield it? That would allow Havik to slip into Kronika's role more easily. It also has the extra benefit of not pushing stupid Titan nonsense in the MK series. Shinnok is a useless head now which bummed Havik out, he needed to find a new big bad to keep the conflict going so he merged past with present thanks to his new powers. Stuff like that....
Did they ever explain how havik got his powers to rip himself apart and regenerate in mk1's story? I don't remember it ever being explained at any point. He gets his face burned by scorpion and that's it. They retconed him so he's no longer a chaos realmer so it's not like it's just an ability his race has.

I honestly find Havik, and by proxy chaosrealmers, to be the perfect character to write. This is someone who has little to no standards, abides by no rules, and has no proper label/definition; Physics mean nothing to him, time means nothing to him, DEATH means nothing to him.
At the same time, he also exists as a walking contradiction not only for everything but also himself; the logical and the illogical; the thesis and antithesis; the everything and the nothing; the creator and the destroyer. HE LITERALLY MAKES SENSE AND YET DOESN'T MAKE SENSE.
Looking at it this way, ANY action he makes ends up being perfectly in character while also being out of character.
PS. It reminds me of an aspect of Hindu culture where one can be everything and it's opposite, case in point the god Shiva showcasing himself to be both a creator and a destroyer.

One thing i’ve noticed about Titan Havik is that he contradicts himself.

I always wanted Havik back as he was pretty different and had an awesome design. Though the more I played the NRS stories the more I started to be afraid for him and MK1 proved those fears right as they completely changed what made him unique, gave him a lesser design compared to the midway era and basically did fuck all with him. Maybe in the story expansion they will fix this and make him a true character of chaos but NRS keeps proving in every entry that they do not learn. Hell the only thing they did better in MK1 was they fixed Sindel which was a problem they originally created.
Hopefully they do it justice if they move forward with Titan Havik. He really could be a cool bad guy because even villains have a reason to oppose him. I still hope we get DLC Hotaru.

Because Kronika sucks and so does the Titan idea so making Havik connected to her would make him even lamer than what they already did. He has also never been portrayed as a god so how would he suddenly be a being above the Elder Gods out of nowhere?
