      Hi . I am looking to make this same pickgaurd. But i cant find blank tortoise material the same thickness as on here. Can you tell me where you got this pickgaurd blank.....It looks 3 or 4 millimeters thick. The thickest i can find is 2.5mm....Please i would love to know where to get this. Thanks again.

    He neglected to mention that from 8:50 to 9:14, the pickguard is adhered, (plastic carpet tape ?) to a routing template, and NOT freehand cut. Also, love your use of the $20.00 Harbor Freight Laminate Trimmer, clamped in the Stewmac Work Vise, Ha! I got 2 of those, and they "Cheaply" come in handy!

    Hey Freddy I have an Ibanez GB 10 (George Benson signature series) that has developed the celluloid gas from the pick guard and has pretty much eaten up the original pick guard. I had a guy to cut me a copy before of my original before it fell completely apart however the one he made for me was very cheaply made and the screw holes cracked very easily. Is there a chance you would be able to produce one for me?
    Thanks

    Love these videos, but they all seem to lack completion. Your work is so wonderful, it would be nice to see the project the entire way through to the finished and installed product. For instance this pick guard would have been nice to see on the guitar. I assume you didn't have the actual guitar in this case, but a few videos back the ES you were working on... Anyway Awesome work!!

    Fantastic, but what did you use to get the returned mitre marked to the correct angle?

    • @FreddysFrets
      @FreddysFrets  2 роки тому +1

      Just cut and fit..... if the angle is out, make another cut to adjust. This is simple when you only have to worry about one end. The real precision occurs when a piece has to be fit at both ends, then there's no room for error.
