Her knack for physical comedy is top notch and, as far as I can tell, not praised as much as it deserves.
We need a "The Tape (reprise)", which just exactly the same video, but the punchline at the end sees Beej going "This is better than I hoped!"
Or just a very confused Cam, in a research lab with danger lights going off around him.
I was expecting Kathleen going 'I can fap to this.'

And about file formats to boot
If I remember correctly, that was pretty much the consensus during the crapshoot for this one when they were deciding on who to be on tape. That and so he can finally be the weird computer guy on the screen.
In hindsight a reference to "34 rules" could have been a good addition to the computer setup
The 34 rules are part of chapter 4
Most of those computational programs are real, which makes this that much more hilarious

@Cow-Moth-With-A-CRT-Head yep, I've seen several of these files in my computer studies, for instance .mpreg is a real file program
The only problem is that half of these are obviously anachronistic, many of these extensions do exist but most of them are much newer then the video is pretending to be. If nothing else you would only see 3 letter extensions for a system this old.

I did not expect that punch line. To be honest, I didn't really expect anything because I had no idea what it could possibly lead to, but even then you still defied expectations

It was funny watching the crew refer to jokes from The PSA, AKA Ian reads a list and Kathleen says "I can't fap to this!", and then just unwittingly make an entire sequel to it.
Before the joke fully sets in, this has the feel of the start of some analog horror vid. Actually, LRR would probably be very good at making one of those…

Knowing that CH Ian worked for a company cald IBS still didn't stop me from thinking this would be about irritated bowel syndrome
If I didn't know that the Commodore Hustle IBS joke was older, I would suspect that it was somehow connected to much the same sort of jokes made by the band TWRP (a Canadian band and weird enough for Kathleen to have attended at least one of their concerts) as the central focus of their stage comedy bits in between songs on their tour a couple years ago. Among other things they were shilling the product IBS Hydration Soda, "America's number two selling brown liquid."
The return of IBS... Love that it was Ian and he was in beige. Great call back, miss those days of commodoreHUSTLE.
I loved watching the crapshoot, and it adds a whole other layer of comedy knowing how things happened behind the scenes.
That was a lo-o-ong build up but the delivery was perfect!

@@SgtDax actually, it will - only one stream per 'season' since it take up a lot of time for the result, but they are planning doing it periodically.

By the second file type, I was concerned. By the third, I was filled with a mix of apprehension, dread, and unscheduled curiosity.

As an old mainframe government computer operator, I upped the priority of this video. Two chad bins full of approval. 🎊🎊
I emptied the bit bucket rolling on the raised floor with .mirth 🤣More fun than running the 6-part decollator and none of the carbon paper dust!
I watched this made live on my tablet, now I see the finished product on UA-cam and my computer has an audio glitch. All audio is about 1-1.5 seconds off. It made this even better.
The Making Of on this one was also great. Still funny

The funniest thing to me is that as far as I understand everything said before the file extensions is actually comprehensible. Or it might be Mandela effect all over again...

I tuned into Crapshoot in the very brief moment while filming Cori's part, with no context, and left before I learned the joke. This was infinitely better than I expected :D
The legnth of the video to set up the punchline is perfect. Bravo team!
Can we get more of these? I now want Ian giving safety procedures for weird stuff like the Backrooms.

The fact he was able to do that all with a straight face - I know it probably took multiple takes but that's still a long sequence to run without breaking.
Watch the VOD of the Crapshoot for this episode, Graham was losing it behind the camera but Ian was stone-faced. It was so funny. :D

Oh, Cori, as someone who cut their teeth on the tech of early 90's, I can tell you that you have no clue how right you are. you think that's bad, let me tell you about my old pal, the Progress Bar. Despite having one of those bad boys slapped on programs for defragging and formatting your hard drive, they're never accurate about how long it takes or how big your drive will be after they're done.
When you first learn about doubly-linked lists (aka deques) in your Computer Based Trainng class
which uses the Bollox operating system.

That certainly is an interesting selection of file types. So it can open Dos programs and Photoshop images as well as apple encoded compression files?

It looks like this was the Cra*shoot one - checked the twitch VOD. I think you should check your automod as saying name of the stream where it was wrote/filmed/edited on got eaten.
Only Ian can one-take something like that.
