My dad was a driver of these yellow ones. I have some really blurry memories of the couple of times I was allowed to go with him but I clearly remember how shaky it was.
I hope that this video and a few others I recorded in the region help bring back some old memories. Spending money on trackwork was not so important to the SNCV in those days. 😊
I do have a cab view of line 'nonante' de anderlues a la louviere et retour... But it is badly shaking because of the super vhs camera from 1993. Can you advise me how to make it a steady and watchable video?
Nothing can perform total miracles but a Stabilise option can help a lot even if in some situations it can twist or stretch the image. I now use the iMovie Stabilise option which is adjustable. Perhaps your editing programme, if you have one, can work. Failing that, you can upload the video to UA-cam (when you have an account), then after uploading is ended, got to Edit and use the Stabilise, Remove shakiness option. It may take an hour depending on how long the video is. If you then want to add text, download your movie, add text or whatever, then upload the finished product. But you must remember that your video is made up from Frames (still photos) like film and some of these are blurred from the lurching. Nothing can fix that. Good luck with your ‘90’!
Where are the locations at 11:30-13:00, 20:47-22:10, 24:00 and 24:38? I'm trying to find them on Google Earth to see if there are any traces of the lines left.
+tressteleg1 I checked those locations and there is not much I can tell you. Bracquegnies is shown as the location at 20.47. That is a town or suburb. Champs Ste Anne is possibly the street. Your last two times are coming into Maurage (another town) terminus and at the terminus. I only ever went to that terminus this once so can't tell you much about it. However if you care to email me tressteleg(at)icloud.com I have some maps which may help you. NOTE - substitute the usual symbol for the (at)
+Martin Smith This little video shows home completely the rebuilt line 90 to La Louvière disappeared just a few years after closure. So sad. ua-cam.com/video/nbdTgsMS3jc/v-deo.html
I'm from Charleroi, born in 1984, un réel plaisir ces images !
Wonderful memories of a superb system. So sad that it is all gone. Great to have real sound instead of dubbed. Thanks for sharing.
😊👍. If the raw movie does not have original sound, I leave the video silent. Viewers can play their own music or whatever they like.
Superb video! Shows the Hainaut tramway in all it's charmes. Thank you for sharing this on UA-cam

Thanks. The SNCV was my favourite tramway after Sydney. ASVi in 1989 and a bit of Vicinal from around that time still to come.
Great, thanks.

Thanks. I think it captures the atmosphere fairly well. Also don't miss my earlier video on Courcelles Gosselies

Nice comments inside the video. I enjoyed it very much!

Whoa, three is a railway level crossing on 9:00 mark
They existed here and there on the SNCV network.

I will try to get to this shortly. The next video has kept me busy for weeks.

Thanks. Trolley lines are particularly interesting to me when they leave the streets for private right-of-way.
21:57 is Liébin Street Bridge in Houdeng Goegnies Belgium, just after the tram turn right to Semaile street
Adoro i vecchi tram, sono piccoli capolavori di design!
SNCV - 👍👍👍👍
