It is a motorcycle shockie that I already had. I figured a rear swing arm on a dirt bike does a lot of impact work and therefore would be a good choice for the power hammer. So a 'GUESS' has turned out well!
Why not! Like you said use what you have lying around and modify it to suit. But yes a stub axle and wheel would work a treat I just didn't have them!....

I get the notion to use what is on hand. But why not an axle stub and hub that bolts to your choice of wheel?
