I really miss having a museum to walk around in with each game having it's own themed path and game room. Really wish they would make a newer game that brought museum mode back. It would have different floors, each featuring a certain number of games with their own game room theme.
Love this game so much. Spent hours playing each game on it. Especially Legend of Valkyrie and Baraduke. But they were all so fun. Even spent hours as a kid just walking around the place enjoying how much stuff you could find. Wish I still had a copy.
Yeah, but the last stage in Valkyrie is very hard, eventually when you get to the boss, you’re surrounded by thunder clouds and can’t jump the platforms

The stars of this one, Pac-Mania and Dragon Spirit (it's sequel is on the final Encore volume). The megastar here though is the only translated version of Legend of Valkyrie that exists.
Namco Museum Volume 5 was the LAST NAMCO MUSEUM game to have a Pac Man game on their collection. The sixth game, Namco Museum Encore, dont have a Pac Man game. (Although it has Motos, SkyKid, Rolling Thunder, Wonder Momo, King & Balloon, Dragon Saber, and Rompers)
Absolutely nostalgic. This was all I played first video game ever. I was 3 years old but played ALL the time remember these sounds bytes like it was yesterday
It's a shame this and Volume 4 and 2 never got a Greatest Hits re-release. They're insanely rare now. At the time of this comment, I found listings for volume 2 starting at $33, volume 4 starting at $200, and no listings at all for volume 5. Meanwhile, Volume 1 or 3 start around $2 for the Greatest Hits version. Gotta love shortprinting of games...
Volumes 4 and 5 sadly did not sell well enough to get a reprint, nor did volume 2. Gaming magazines pretty much killed volumes 4 and 5 with their negative reviews, calling the games on it, "Namco scraping the bottom of the barrel". Volume 4 had a Pac-Man game on it, so there was no excuse (EGM was brutal for sure on 4 and 5, claiming no Pac-Man, no buy, yet 4 had Pac-Mania.....a Pac-Man game). Didn't deter me from getting columes 4 and 5, Volume 2 on the other hand, well. Volume 2 has a cheaper Japanese version, trouble is, it has no Super Pac-Man game on it, instead going with 2 late 1970's Breakout type games, neither one of them all that good (no excuse for the time it came out, 1978 gave us Taito's Space Invaders, still fun to play today), and the US version is crazy expensive. I do have the games on Volume 2 on other Namco Museum's though, so no biggie, though Gaplus and Super Pac-Man do not control well on the Wii's Namco Museum Mega Mix, even with a classic controller.
Galaga 88 would end up on a Namco Museum, but it took till the PS2 era, and Namco Museum 50th Anniversary Collection to finally get it, and it has to be unlocked to play it. Cosmo Gang has quite a nice Super Famicom release, and Warp and Warp would end up on the Famicom, and Dig Dug II on NES is great (and would also see a release on the PSP Namco Battle Museum collection, and on the DS Namco Museum if I remember correctly).

Even all 5 Nakanoge no Itsusugo Characters (Miku, Nino, Ichika, Yotsuba, and Itsuki Nakano) all also remembered Namco Museum Volume 5 very fondly.
This was my personal favorite among the discs released.
For me my personal favourite in NAMCO MUSEUM series is actually 3 to 5.

One of the things that I do not like about the Pac-Man series: the Blinky and Clyde name mix-ups.

I wish they'd include a game made after 1989 in a namco museum compilation. It'd be great to see Aqua Rush on modern-day consoles.
