    I still remember going over to my neighbors’ house and we’d play this game over and over (we were all around the ages of 5 - 7); fast forward to many years later and me randomly thinking of this game but not remembering what it was called. It was so nice to be able to find a walkthrough of Vol. 1 and reliving the nostalgia from 12 years ago

    This game is a masterpiece. The virtual museum brings back so many memories with my sister just exploring it and playing toypop together because it was one of the few multiplayer games available to us at the time. I love the music that plays in the museum. Somewhat ominous but still relaxing. The sound of it makes me feel like time is going by quickly but it's peaceful. Everything in the museum is peaceful. Also it's strange how there is no one else in the museum either, just a mannequin at the entrance. Anyways this was my childhood and i still have the game but it doesnt work on my new ps2 slim so i came back to check it out

      Your comment made me tear up. My brother and I grew up playing this together on his PS1. It was always funny watching him play as his whole body would lean to the sides during the racing game. He passed away a year and a half ago. I’m so thankful I found this, it brought back many beautiful memories. Cherish your siblings 🤍

      @@alexworld8255 Yeah it’s funny that you mention that because I’m thinking the same thing. This is something I've always thought about making but only recently built a PC, so, thank you for making these videos.
    I spent an unreal amount of time in these virtual museums as a kiddo, but have only ever owned Vol 1 and Vol 3. I remember all of the weird promotional items in the exhibit halls--and as a slightly older kid--finding out that some of the games I liked the most in these compilations were never released outside of Japan. It was like a mysterious window into another time, in another world.

    • @smashmaster521
      @smashmaster521 4 роки тому +1

      To be fair, Vol. 1 and Vol. 3 are the best ones.

    • @ryandevan2793
      @ryandevan2793 4 роки тому +1

      Yeah and you can tell that most of the items on display are from Japan especially when you look at the flyer for Pac man because it says Puck man and if you know the story of Pac-Man’s creation then you’ll know why. When Pac-Man was originally released in Japan they called it Puck man due to his shape, but when Namco decided to bring the game to the United States they changed the name because Masaya Nakamura, the founder and president of Namco, was worried that American’s would vandalize the game and change the p to an f so they changed to Pac-Man.

      @@smashmaster521 Volume 4, 5, and ncore are where the best of Namco's games from arcades reside. Legend of Valkrie, Genpei Toumaden, Return of Ishtar, Sky Kid, Rolling Thunder, Dragon Saber, Pac-Land, Assault/Assault Plus, Rompers, Mappy, Super Pac-Man, Pac-Mania, games that are not to be taken lightly. What you said are why Namco keeps putting out the same games over and over on their museums.

    • @Bloodreign1
      @Bloodreign1 3 роки тому +1

      1 and 3 are dirt common, they had reprints so that raised their amount of printed copies, while 2,4, and 5 were criminally overlooked, no thanks in big part to gaming magazines back in the day giving them poor scores because Namco "scraped the bottom of the barrel to created voolumes 4 and 5". So Namco started putting out the same games over and over for future Museum games, and left a lot of their classics out.

    ToyPop and Popcorn.
    Once upon a time in 1997, a 4 year-old boy was being babysat by his godfather while his parents went out. The boy’s godfather had just gone to Hollywood Video earlier that day to rent a copy of Namco Museum Vol. 1 and buy popcorn and candy. The boy wasn’t interested in playing at first but the boy’s godfather insisted that his godson choose a game. The boy chose ToyPop. One hour passed, and the godfather wanted to choose another game but the spoiled boy wanted to keep playing ToyPop. They played on for another hour, with fingers greasy with butter from the popcorn. They both shared that memory, and little does that boy’s godfather know how much the boy cherished that night. Sadly, the godfather and the boy haven’t spoken in decades, but if the boy sees his godfather again, he will remind him of this nostalgic moment.
    My story telling sucks but there’s a memory for you guys! My godfather and I may turn to stardust one day, but may this random memory survive on the internet for as long as UA-cam or Google exists!

    It would be nice if this and the other games in the series could be added to PSN...but they can't, because of AtGames.

      I would’ve loved to see all six volumes included in Ps Plus Premium, aside from the AtGames feud and Ms Pac Man, there’s also Arcade Archives ports and the Ms Pac Man Arcade Game series ports of any of the these games featured in these compilations. Huge Namco enthusiast right here.

    @TheInnocentSinful I swear to god I saw this original upload of Namco Museum Vol. 1 back in January/February/March/April 2014, did you redo the original tours to make them more 1080p and upscaled on a better emulator? If so, why did you remove the originals?? Because the only one that hasn't been removed is the Namco Museum Encore Tour from 2014. And if you didn't delete them, did you unlist or private the original uploads from 2014?
    Thanks.

      Pac-Man was inspired by the creator having pizza, and taking off one slice, Pac-Man's origins were born.

      Actually, it is ALERT! ALERT! probably due to the problems having voice enchantment in the arcade game, despite one of the first games to use voice. Anyway, the alert thing was from the PSP Japan exclusive Namco Museum Vol. 2 soundtrack in the Bosconian soundtrack section.

    Can anyone explain why Toy Pop had a big white room as a hub? Was the game not successful in Namco's eyes?
