But because voluntary inpatient is a choice that can't work either even if she pays for it at mayonaise betty clinic or whatever, they just wouldn't understand her special body and give her 'too little calories' and she would sign out and say that it made her binge.
I mean, she clearly has a mental illness also tho. Basically no one would choose to live the way she does. I 100% believe it’s been hellish for her in her own head/body even if she is also an intolerable person and her destruction is by her own hand.
One of the first things my psychologist explained to me re: post binge care was to eat normally. Being super hungry is absolutely a danger zone for BED. Your brain tells you not to eat because you were "bad" and binged but you absolutely need to grt up the next day and eat your breakfast, eat your lunch, eat your dinner. You need to not do the swings and roundabouts that your body does not understand and you need to break the thought processes of punishment after a binge. If her psych is a BED specialist as she claims she would have had this front and centre. Although she also probably is ignoring all of the work you have to do outside of the sessions. Sigh. It's frustrating.

I never had BED specifically because my ED had all sorts of different dysfunctions, but before I could recover from any of it I had to come terms with the fact that trying to “make up for” a binge was always setting myself up for failure. Something nutritious that you genuinely enjoy, self care and patience genuinely got me so much further.

You don't eat all day so you're gonna get hungry, and at your weight you're gonna have a big urge to eat. And then at night you feel so hungry that you just go crazy, later figuring out that it was too much. She needs to eat small meals throughout the day to deal with that urge and not let herself go so hungry that she won't think about what she's consuming

She can do her grocery hauls, do cutesy makeup and hair (giving a very teenager TikTok vibe in this one) all she wants, sit around and do doodle drawings allday, but that does nothing to change the fact that she is putting her own life in grave danger by ignoring all medical advice and not following through with psychotherapy. Unlike her cats, she only has one life and it is very disheartening to see her spiraling downwards. Without Zach's comments, this would be totally unwatchable by now.

I’m pretty new to watching Amberlynn (started right before the Becky breakup), and I guess I was naive because I really thought that she was just dumb. I believed she really just fundamentally didn’t understand nutrition and health. But after the whole keto/gallbladder thing, I’ve realized she’s not dumb, she knows exactly what she’s doing. All Amberlynn had to do was talk to the lipedema specialist about her concerns about the high fat diet and they could have worked together to make adjustments to her meals so that her gallbladder wasn’t being irritated. Instead she just gave up on any sort of plan of action. It was all just an excuse to not have to change anything about her way of life. She knows how unhealthy she is, she just doesn’t care enough to do anything about it.

Not only do we want to hear about some progress with the therapy, but I'd like to hear things her therapist has her working on. Like you said, Zach, I want to hear about skills or homework they told her to work on. I understand that it's a work in progress, but it seems like bingeing would be a huge subject in therapy that they'd give you techniques to use when it happens.

Something interesting I learned in ED therapy is that studies done on mice showed the mice going on one week+ of binge eating after missing just one meal. Binging is uncontrollable and repeated behavior, and usually far more calories in one sitting than just overeating. We all eat a bit too much sometimes, especially when there’s a special food that we really like-that’s not necessarily disordered behavior (we could stop ourselves from eating whenever, we don’t have to keep going) but eating as much as you can in one sitting without being able to stop yourself is considered disordered eating, especially when you don’t really care what you’re eating
I'm just surprised she's been able to get in to see all these doctors so quickly. I had to reschedule my Nov appt with my neuro and the next available appt isn't until the end of January.

All Amberlynn had to do was talk to the lipedema specialist about her concerns about the high fat diet and they could have worked together to make adjustments to her meals so that her gallbladder wasn’t being irritated. Instead she just gave up on any sort of plan of action. It was all just an excuse to not have to change anything about her way of life. She knows how unhealthy she is, she just doesn’t care enough to do anything about it.
@@edisnierif Oh, she IS dumb. Living breathing Dunning-Kruger. But she's also clever and sometimes fails up. When she sees an impact on the audience she'll repeat it, even if it's a lah. She enjoys her lifestyle too much to change. She's self medicating her situational depression and malnutrition w/high sugar/salt/fat foods that release "happy" neurotransmitters. A consistent schedule alone would let her lose weight, but it's too much work for her.

@@Jayne_Rose I've eaten 7k calories in a day befire easily. 3 big/massive meals. A few snacks. 1 Pint Haagen Daaz helps. Some cocacola (amber would drink 0 cal soda however). I can at least imagine it. I'm almost 6 foot 5 and male though.
Not only do we want to hear about some progress with the therapy, but I'd like to hear things her therapist has her working on. Like you said, Zach, I want to hear about skills or homework they told her to work on. I understand that it's a work in progress, but it seems like bingeing would be a huge subject in therapy that they'd give you techniques to use when it happens.
Seems like to me Binge eating would be the 1st thing she would address bc she is 500lbs and if she doesn't change it's not going to be good. That's more of a priority right now then her past and her childhood.

Yeah I haven’t seen one person say “wow you are SO fat, how did you find someone to love you?” So the fact that SHE said this and deduced this from people being amazed when they find love (because of their horrible and very public personalities) is actually really telling to me. Always a victim and AMBER feels she and Chantal are unworthy of love due to their sizes, deep down. I see very few comments actually “HATING” on them for their size. It’s all about their patterns, choices, lies and personality. Or basically begging them to get healthy so they can live life.

Something interesting I learned in ED therapy is that studies done on mice showed the mice going on one week+ of binge eating after missing just one meal. ALR is in her post-restriction binging episodes. It’s unfortunate really… if she followed her therapists advice, she could get herself out of this.
I recommend that she goes to a treatment center. But she wouldn’t give up food and binging for that.
And I'm sure she wouldn't be able to come on every day to boo- hoo and trash reactors

Binging is uncontrollable and repeated behavior, and usually far more calories in one sitting than just overeating. We all eat a bit too much sometimes, especially when there’s a special food that we really like-that’s not necessarily disordered behavior (we could stop ourselves from eating whenever, we don’t have to keep going) but eating as much as you can in one sitting without being able to stop yourself is considered disordered eating, especially when you don’t really care what you’re eating
