If I could jump back into my younger self from the 80s knowing everything I know now I'd appreciate and embrace everything in life so much more, school, TV, radio, reading my Dandy and Beano comics under my covers at night by torchlight so my parents didn't know I was still up, Amstrad spectrum computers, playing outside, early morning cartoons, cartoons after school, the fact you can go outside without getting stabbed etc etc
Rewatching the ITV Mole series and loving it. It reminds me of my teens. I fancied a girl called Pamela and she explained to me what 'wet dream' meant as we queued to get into the youth club as we discussed 'Adrian Mole'. lol
I never knew it was the late Iain Dury who sang this, god bless him and all the child hood nostalgia flooding back, this was a great show, and sue townsend, julie walters ahhh
All the memories of the mid 80's are back, not a great time for me, but the telly was good. Thank God for the internet and especially UA-cam. 22/6/2013.Irish time 12:15pm.Saturday.
Thanks. I watched this series as a kid. But what happened to the lyrics ""I'm profoundly in love with Pandora/ adolescence proves to be a strain/ I'd gladly lay my heart before her/ despite these growing pains"? That part is stuck in my head, but I can't hear it on this version.
Koooll i used to have the book (Cover featured in this video) and i had the song on 7 inch vinyl record.. and yes the track was by Ian Dury... and yes i can see the uncanny resemblance between Adrian Mole and Harry Potter... but saying that ... when i saw harry potter i used to say they copied the look from Adrian Mole.. hahaha
Aw gosh at that age, I was like a female version of Adrian Mole, I wrote my diary like him and I have always wanted to be a writer and a artist of some kind.
At least the actor playing him looks like Daniel Radcliffe. I'd check the descriptions from the books be to sure that there is any real intentional connection though.

I said the same thing the other day, how great life was.
Absolutely agree with you. Oh, how i kiss the 80s. Great childhood memories…
Cool
I love this song. It beautifully captures the teenage angst of Adrian and has themes that renonsates amongst all of us.

Yes, the song's called 'Profoundly In Love With Pandora'.
The actor is Gino Sammarco , whos now a psychiatrist nurse in the Midlands. He does look like Dan Radcliffe I agree!!!!!!
Katie Fraser He went to the same school as me. It's all our drama teacher banged on about. That he taught him
Wrong way around Daniel Radcliffe looks like Gino Sammarco as he is older

What did you end up?
